A fast-evolving case with potential national security implications has resulted in new weapons charges, following a trespassing investigation that began January 24 at Western University and led to the discovery of “numerous precursor substances and finished high explosives” at a London home. The probe has since expanded to include warrant executions in Ottawa and Gatineau, Quebec. […]
The four suspects, who have requested Mandarin translation services in court proceedings, face mounting charges related to the unlawful possession of explosives following an incident that began when campus police called for assistance on a break-in at Western University’s engineering buildings early Saturday, January 24.
A trespasser was arrested at an engineering building following a foot pursuit. Officers seized a loaded handgun during the arrest and identified a second suspect.
While the university has not responded to The Bureau’s questions, CBC has reported that “the accused were currently attending, or were alumni, at Western University.”
Police then executed a search at 212 Chesham Avenue — approximately 1.9 kilometres from Western’s main engineering campus — where they arrested the second suspect and discovered hazardous chemicals. Two additional suspects were arrested at the residence.
Jerry Tong, 27, of Gatineau, and Zekun Wang, 26, of London, were charged with unlawful possession of explosives. Fei Han, 25, and Feiyang Ji, 21, both of London, also face charges of unlawful possession of explosives.

Watch out for those “Richmond Hill homes” my friends, because you never know what they’re up to.
Three missing Quebec girls have been found in a Richmond Hill home, and police have charged a man and a teenage boy for allegedly trafficking them.
York Regional Police said officers received information on Tuesday that the missing girls may be in the area and that they were maybe being sexually exploited.
Within a few hours, police identified and attended a residence of interest in Richmond Hill.
”Shortly after arriving, two female youths were seen leaving the residence with an adult male in a vehicle,” police said in a news release on Friday.
Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the man.
Police said they then entered the home “under exigent circumstances” and located the third missing girl along with a 17-year-old boy who was subsequently taken into custody.
The adult suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Shaikh Sabahat from Toronto. The teenage suspect cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Officers with Saskatchewan Highway Patrol’s Provincial Protective Services Branch stopped a truck and trailer around 12:40 a.m. on Jan. 20 and located what police described as a large quantity of illegal tobacco in the trailer. The driver, an adult man, was arrested at the scene.
Battlefords RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Yorkton Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team later continued the investigation. Police say a search of the vehicle uncovered 23 pallets of unstamped tobacco containing approximately 9.1 million cigarettes, which were seized.
Investigators also determined the driver was on court-ordered release conditions related to tobacco charges in Ontario, including a requirement not to be outside that province.
Harwinder Kahlon, 41, of Brampton, Ont., is charged with transporting or possessing unstamped tobacco for the purpose of sale under the Criminal Code, possession of unstamped tobacco under the Excise Act, possessing or transporting tobacco not marked in a prescribed manner under the Tobacco Tax Act, and failing to comply with an undertaking condition.

Rather than shovel ever more taxpayer dollars at administratively bloated post-secondary institutions, why not privatize them so they are free to allocate resources based on actual demand from employers? Otherwise, they’ll just continue to give gender studies the same priority as engineering.
Ontario’s universities and colleges are looking for billion-dollar funding boosts in the province’s upcoming budget, investments they are framing as critical to Premier Doug Ford’s plan to “protect Ontario” from tariff impacts by strengthening domestic capabilities.
The Council of Ontario Universities says in its pre-budget submission that its institutions are at “a breaking point” and they are calling for an additional $1.2 billion in operating funding next year, with that amount increasing to $1.6 billion by 2028-29.

Canada’s spiraling extortion crisis targeting Indo-Canadian communities is being driven by international organized crime that has exploited a whole industry of designated learning institutes and immigration consultant shops through massive fraud, coercing vulnerable student migrants into serving in extortion squads that are terrorizing families and businesses, with brazen shootings now occurring on a near daily basis in Surrey, B.C., the epicenter of a national security threat now spreading through communities in Toronto, Edmonton, and Winnipeg, The Bureau’s investigations have revealed.
Pulling together accounts from multiple sources—predominantly from British Columbia’s new multi-agency anti-extortion task force—along with documentary and data analysis, The Bureau’s findings suggest Ottawa lost control of its national borders during a massive increase of immigration under the Trudeau Liberals, and now lacks the capacity to counter rampant scams tainting major sectors of the Canadian economy tied to immigration, the education of foreign students, and the industry surrounding their ultimate goals of job placements leading to Canadian citizenship.
Among a myriad of causes, Canada’s permissive immigration systems and lack of racketeering, foreign interference, and strong sentencing and deportation laws have made the nation a magnet for transnational gangs that exploit and leverage diasporas.
Great Success!
