  1. Were I the owner, I’d toss the guy out for altering the premises while renting. I suspect there is more to this story. It’s likely a government program like HUD in the US and there is a subsidy involved giving the State a control mechanism. Low income housing has requirements and purposes. Low income is the point. Increasing the value defeats the purpose. I’d need to know more.

    3. Those are rentals that are specifically designed to “protect” lower income neighborhoods (not the individuals living there, the neighborhoods).
      A shower head is hardly what most in would consider “luxury” in a first world nation…until now apparently.

    1. Apparently he had it for 10 years? Most landlords aren’t going to give a good tinker’s damn about such a set up…unless of course you live in Germany, and it’s against the rules because not everybody has a screw on shower head.
      At this point I would have to say that in a better world, we wouldn’t need rent controlled housing as there would be enough economic activity to allow for a wide array of housing options and prices that the vast majority could afford, and anyone who could afford one could have a screw in shower head (as long as it was properly screwed on of course).
      That of course is too simple a desire.

    In the above posting, the individual is a renter so I doubt it’s permitted on that alone, if he owned the unit it’d be nobody’s business.
    I’ve seen a lot of owner modifications in houses, my favorite owner house mod was the house I saw with a 5′ deep pool in 1/3 of a basement, I don’t know how the house has fared structurally since then but it’s his house and that_is_all.

    In Ontario, improve your house and MPAC gets to take more of your wealth as long as you live or own the property.
    It’s not like they financed it, or helped in any way. There was no risk to them, but they’re “legally” entitled to steal from you because the state is a malignant c*nt.

    No. I have refused to comply by purchasing my showerheads out of State, and then still drilled out all the flow restrictors. Yes, my CA non-compliant showerheads are pretty close to Firehose intense as my valley-bottom water pressure hovers right around 100psi. Nope. That pressure doesn’t wreck my valves. I refuse to install a PRV.
