Global- COVID-19 hospitalizations hit staggering 10,000 patients as provinces set new records
Much of the current hospitalizations are being driven by Ontario and Quebec. Ontario reported 578 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units and 3,887 in hospital overall, up from 3,595 a day before. Quebec, meanwhile, reported a new record of 3,381 hospitalized COVID-19 patients, including 286 in ICUs.
Deaths, meanwhile, have also begun to rise.

The sunk cost fallacy is in full effect and careers and credibility is on the line, but facts are stubborn things, and the fact is that these vaccines are accelerating spread. They do not protect us as was promised. (and promises were definitely made) At best, these are a personal choice to mitigate risk. Probably, doing so creates a net risk for others because you are more likely to get covid and spread covid. The vaccinated are not a dead end for virus, they are crop-dusters for it and spreading it more widely.

At long last, it seems that the Mainstream Media, or at least some segment of it, may be tiring of fear porn. It remains to be seen whether the tipping point in the MSM can be reached before irreparable economic damage occurs.
We are pushing the complex systems upon which we depend and which are miraculously effective and efficient in their often thankless operation to their breaking point.
These systems are now shaking. We’re compromising them seriously with this unending and unpredictable stream of restrictions, lockdowns, regulations and curfews. We’re also undermining our entire monetary system, with the provision of unending largesse from government coffers, to ease the stress of the COVID response. We’re playing with fire.

Booster Bollocks?
el gato malo – if boosters stop the spread of covid, why don’t we see it in the data?
I think we can say with fairly high confidence that there is nothing in this data that supports the idea that widespread booster usage is stopping spread or contagion of covid. The issue of whether they are, in fact, making spread worse remains open and the data seems mixed and wants for greater explanation, though several studies seem to show negative vaccine efficacy for boosters on case counts (link below), so I have a hunch there may be something to the notion and will keep scratching at it.
Took a quick look and I’d say things look the same in Gibraltar.

After all the lockdowns, masks, mass vaccinations, mandates, and passport systems you finally flattened the curve (along the wrong axis) and reached all time high case counts. Just in time for Christmas.
We’ve been watching overall case numbers in the fully vaccinated increase for some time now, but in Ontario the rate per 100,000 people (second chart below) just crossed over the parity line. Judging from the trend its probably not going to stay there.

Fast-forward to 2020: They detailed the allegations of how Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg spent millions on election tricks in mostly Democratic areas to help Biden and how his money is to be used in 2022 to skew elections.
In between, they pointed to politicians, including Biden, who used to decry the types of election “reforms” Democrats and the media are now championing, such as eliminating voter identification.
“They have pushed the false narrative that there is no fraud in our elections or that it is so minimal that we should not be concerned about it. They have also, with their willing allies in the media, falsely labeled any efforts to implement needed reform as ‘voter suppression,’” Fund and von Spakovsky wrote.
“It is hard to see their intent as anything other than to make it easy to cheat and manipulate election results and to do so without getting caught or prosecuted,” they added.
When conservative politicians cede authority to talking head elites of mainstream media over which issues are acceptable for debate, which facts are settled, and which cultural topics are untouchable — they’re falling for a ruse.
They’re being herded away from the very issues they might win on, so that the left can retain their preferred battleground. When media reacts with derision, anger and censorship to suppress a topic or a debate — they’re frightened of it. Nobody, but nobody, tries to shut down an debate they know they’ll win.
