SDA regular ‘John Robertson’ wrote something very profound earlier today (slightly edited for clarity):
My enemies are not in Washington, Moscow, or the Ukraine.
Stupid is as stupid does, however I see malice.
The Parasitic Overload is running out of Other Peoples’ Money and panic is mixing with their insatiable greed.
Can Ahh Duh is broken.
Broken by corrupt parasites and decades of easy living.
Somehow, a majority of us decided we could Borrow our way to wealth, Spend borrowed money to live like our neighbours and pass the cost of this insanity onto generations unborn.
Today’s young adults are seeing these costs and rebelling against such evil.
“Investing in Welfare“, while stripping our children’s children of all these options our parents gifted us.
Elbows Up is just the final stage of this generational hatred and warfare.
No wonder Liberals Love MAID.
ALBERTA IS GONE.
Even if The Vote to have a Vote is crushed, the citizens of Alberta know the deal and they already know, it ain’t ever going to change in The Confederated Kleptocracy of Can Ahh Duh.
And the Future Referendum is already a farce, for we all know that Ottawa and The Eastern Provinces will never “Deal in Good faith”.
Maybe the next step will be to make the Work Strike Official?
As the cost of compliance now exceeds any benefit from working.

I suspect that women in Alberta and Saskatchewan vote for Government(Liberal) as defacto husband, just like the ROC.
You’re not going anywhere.
No. We’re not. Been calling 80-20 remain since the outset. With the stacked deck and outright lies and bold-faced slander being piled on the independence movement, plus the almost certain cheating from campaigning to voting to counting, I’m revising it to 85-15. Maybe 88-12.
Yup, my neighbour was rallying against the 10 questions about Alberta separating. I couldn’t help myself, I laughed. To her glare I recommended she look up the actual questions and then we could talk.
Know someone who was moaning about the CPP being a disaster, Carney, Brookfield, etc, etc. Immediately pivots to talking about some dude I’ve literally never heard of who’s apparently literally a nazi becaise the Fifth Estate or something says so, and the leave side is funded by Russian and American interests, blah, blah, blah. Just smiled and nodded, there’s no point in arguing.
Hahahaha, comedy central, I’v listened to whiny Newfbertans for over 40 years, and nothing has, or will change. Well maybe the whine will be a little different, nothing else will happen.
So provincial GYMmy, STFU.
Remove a few rails and Eastern Canada will be brought to their knees post haste. Good for the Indians, good for the whitey
Masters of the Obvious, Episode #878.
The enemies of Canada are obviously Canadians.
After AB/Sask. separate we should insist on our oil and gas being paid for in American dollars.
marc, you know that is never going to happen. Albertans are Canadian, coward and weak to the core. They are crocodile feeders as sure as the rest of this country is a failed shithole.
As VDH explained … Canada is suffering from the self-inflicted wounds of; A high influx of immigrants who all add to the social welfare costs to Canada (nope. Not nearly enough doctors and engineers) … and simultaneously is deindustrializing and stifling its own economy … and … participates with Obama in pissing off Trump (America) your largest customer.
The EU won’t be your new economic partner … unless Canada is counting on getting loans from the EU
“The EU won’t be your new economic partner … unless Canada is counting on getting loans from the EU”
Partner, no. Overlord and liquidator, probably.
Canada’s biggest problem the capture of our elites by China. Once you understand that, everything else makes sense.
Those ‘professionals’ cheat so much on their certification testing. So I heard from a reliable source. And if the monitor shows definitive profit they scream ‘rascism’ at the topic of their lungs.
I’m not sure an independent Alberta is possible. First you have to overcome the Canadian Supreme Court (the same one who on a previous post today about Indigenous jail sentences proves their Progressive stock). The Supreme Court will define the Clarity Act (which was created to avoid just such a scenario). The Canadian Supreme Court will define what a “a clear majority vote” means. And, they will define what “clear will of the people means”. You will NOT like their ruling.
Secondly, the Canadian Constitution will have to be changed and voted upon. It will be voted upon by a Liberal Government with representatives from all Provinces. That’s an unwinnable obstacle. They won’t do Alberta or Saskatchewan any favors. In fact, I suspect they will be catty about it. Taunting even.
Ok, so those in Alberta who feel strongly about a secession will flex their muscles, gin up their bravado and tell me, “So what…let’s see them stop us. We’ll secede anyway.” No. No you won’t, because your Premier doesn’t want to secede. She’s on record saying so. So, she is not going to go against the Canadian Supreme Court or the Canadian Constitution.
I’d venture to say that Carney and those Canadians in the East are having a good laugh over the issue, but aren’t very concerned. I don’t think it’s even on the radar for most of them. Oh, and we haven’t even talked about the direct violations of Three Indigenous People’s Treaties….and how that will be the first roadblock they throw up.
If a majority of Albertans were to vote to secede, and then the Supreme Court says “no”, and that’s the end of it, they are not worthy of their own nation in any case.
Indeed, the structure of the system becomes counter productive as one becomes more successful.
In my final working years, I was just making over 100,000 a year. The cheques were nice, an accomplishment to a long and winding road that had more than its share of pitfalls, downfalls, euphoric heights and at the end, lethargic production thanks to a company in transition and reduction.
Once you enter that range, you’re getting taxed over 40% of your income. Small raises mean nothing. Incentive for a promotion there was limited to 10% raise for a lot more time and responsibility. To see 40% of that raise taxed away, and the other deductions as well, was not an incentive to be promoted. In that salary range, a 30% raise is necessary to take on the level of stress to give in exchange.
That’s the big problem today in the working world. Income taxes on high earners. That’s why these upwardly mobile people are renters in Vancouver, despite making $180 grand a year. It’s discouraging when you struggle along as a high achiever, while the gimmegrants get showered with FREE MUNNY from a corrupt, sleazy government.
Next stop for the eminently corrupt government? You won’t have to work anymore, thanks to UBI and CDBCs. Nirvana? No, Hell!
This isn’t even an Independence vote.
It’s a vote to have a vote at some undefined future time as yet unspecified.
Every Albertan should be voting Question 10 option 2 just as leverage to be heard in Canada.
As it stands, when there is a general election in Canada; all of the important decisions are already made before the polls even close in Alberta.
For chrissakes, look at the mayors that Calgary and Edmonton have picked over the last fifteen years. Now, tell me with a straight face that separation is a possibility.
City politics are not federal politics. Cities do not govern the cost of groceries, housing or heating.
There is no conservative team to elect conservative leaders at the city level.
Look rather, at how Albertans vote provincially and federally. You will see a difference.
