It will soon be impossible to criticise the fanatics of Extinction Rebellion.

Putting people on trial for warning against this will be one way to keep warm and occupied.
So, while I still may, I’ll say that this is one of the nastiest and stupidest outbreaks of intolerant, irrational zealotry since mankind emerged from the Dark Ages. I speak as a former intolerant zealot, who grew out of it.
I know the fierce joy which comes from despising others, only too well. And I fear it.

Will sane people have to glue themselves to aircraft and bridges to get anyone to listen? And if they do, will they be indulged by our politicised, biased police, as the Warmists are?
Perhaps the most dispiriting version of it is to be seen in the painted, beatific faces of the red-robed mime-artists who are to be found on so many of the demonstrations demanding that this country commits economic suicide.
Who can tell what is going on behind those self-satisfied, ethereal expressions? But they give these marches a strong whiff of the Age of Inquisitions, which I once thought we had escaped.
I won’t try to argue here on the rightness or wrongness of the Warmists’ theory about the causes of climate change.
I know from long, multiple experience that they respond to reasonable doubt with fury and defamatory cries of ‘denier’.
I spend much of my life in debate, and will take on any rational opponent. But there are some causes you can’t reason with, and this is one of them.
They prefer fury to logic. This is always the sign of someone who is not sure of his own case, and hates to hear his inner doubts spoken.

The ridiculous part includes his own department joining the lawsuit for damages and the cost of health services for Ryan Watson, the individual now suing who was rummaging around on Eddie’s property.
When Schweitzer heard that news, he squashed the province’s end of the lawsuit like a bug in less time than you could tell some paper shuffler: What the hell do you think you’re doing?

“I’m a guy with a young family. I teach piano for a living, I’m not a drug-dealing thug,” the 29-year-old told Postmedia on Wednesday.

In a statement from RCMP, which said they will provide “no further commentary” on the incident, the force said the tactics used were in response to the seriousness of the complaint.

This isn’t the first such incident. It won’t be the last. If the mother, father and two toddlers were killed. Then there might be an apology and officers reassigned. But just as Premier Jason Kenny refuses to address the High River incident. This will be smoothed over and the RCMP and Crown Prosecutor’s will go to every length to get a conviction on anything, no matter how small to justify this SWAT team raid.
A few years ago, a pest control officer for the Town of Foam Lake came very close to being shot be an RCMP officer. How many cases don’t make the news ? That is a state secret ! Gun control is just one of the federal gov’t. steps for removing “settlers” from rural Canada, and, I’d argue, bringing into effect P.M. Justin Trudeau’s stated goal of making Canada, the first post nation-state.

British Shooting is disappointed that the sport of target shooting has not been included in the programme for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
It will be the first time since 1970 that shooting has not featured at the Games.
The initial announcement that shooting wouldn’t be included in the list of sports set to be represented at Birmingham 2022 came out two years ago. But since then, shooting governing bodies across the Commonwealth have worked hard to propose a plan that would be viable for all parties.
Following a consultation period, the ISSF, British Shooting, and other prominent shooting federations across the Commonwealth had hoped that the Commonwealth Games Federation and the Birmingham Organising Committee would be able to find a successful solution to include shooting sports in the 2022 programme.
The ISSF offered to contribute to the costs of shooting being included, while Bisley was suggested as the venue for shooting sports. This is same location used for the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games with great success.
However, the Commonwealth Games Federation today reaffirmed their initial announcement of shooting sports not being included.

Survivors of a Colorado school shooting walked out of a vigil for their slain classmate Wednesday night in protest of politicians and other groups using it as a platform for gun control, a local report said.
The students from STEM High School, where two gunmen killed a student and wounded eight others Tuesday, began yelling from the stands that they “wanted to be heard” after two politicians and pro-gun control advocates addressed the crowd, according to the local NBC affiliate, KUSA.
They then stormed out of the vigil after Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet and Democratic Congressman Jason Crow addressed the crowd, the Denver Post reported.
The kids chanted “Mental health” and hurled expletives at the media, according to the report.
And got an apology.

According to the criminal complaint, a mother was shopping with her daughter in the Old Navy store a little after 6 p.m. when the suspect approached them.
The complaint says the suspect “grabbed the child by the hair and attempted to pull her away,” and then the little girl “dropped to the floor with the male still pulling her away.”
Police say the mother then pulled out a handgun and told the suspect to let go of the child. The mother told police the man then let go of the girl and ran out of the store into the mall. […]

Unexpectedly
Dick’s Sporting Goods (DKS.N) reported a bigger-than-expected drop in quarterly same-store sales on Wednesday and forecast further declines this year, hit by tighter gun controls and a drop in Under Armour sales.
Shares in the company fell as much as 10 percent after it posted a 1.9 percent drop in same-store sales, bigger than analysts’ average estimate of a 0.62 percent dip.
Dick’s was one of the first retailers to stop selling assault rifles and high-capacity magazines as well as bar the sale of guns to people under age 21 following a massacre at a Florida high school in February.
The company had predicted that its hunting guns business would be pressurized by the change in policy but said the move should also attract more people to its stores.
