On the twelfth day of Christmas, our intellectual betters in the media sent to me
A lump of coal wrapped in a message not to dare deviate from their official narratives in 2021,
An urgent plea to stock up on food and toilet paper before he locks down America next year,
Membership cards for Antifa and BLM (and a promise of no future presents if I don’t join both),
Gift certificates from their favorite hair styling salons,
Travel photos from Mississippi,
Leftovers from Il Forno Trattoria,
A sunset photo from their comrade’s condo in Cabo,
No pubs open after 11pm (while Covid sleeps),
A guarantee of bankruptcy for decades,
A promise of no fun ever again,
Thousands of dead grandparents, and
A never-ending lockdown for me but not they

Denial is More than a River in Egypt
You might recall the recent documentary showing the downfall of Seattle. I sent this video to about 250 friends. One, a devout Democrat in Chicago, passed it onto her sister, who relocated to Seattle several years ago.
The response back from her sister was rather stunning. She referred to the documentary as “right wing propaganda” and provided this article as some kind of defense of the destructive policies of the Far Left city council and mayor. Just stop for a moment to put yourselves in the shoes of this Seattle woman. Every day she witnesses abject poverty and drug addled, mentally ill people throughout her community. She has firsthand evidence of this but yet she can’t let her mind open even a crack to the possibility that the policies of the people she has repeatedly voted for are the cause of all this. Amazing.
Update: Directly related to the cognitive dissonance of those who vote for Leftist policies but can’t seem to connect the dots to the disastrous outcomes of those policies.

Corruption in your face
A read through the “Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021” is a glimpse into the deep corruption of what passes for the U.S. government these days. Here’s a summary from the Washington Post. Notice how this “news story” is nothing more than a reprint of a press release from the Democrats? By the way, replace “Democrats” with “Deep State” when you read it. Here’s a PDF of the full bill, should you wish to make yourself miserable.

The Vanity Insanity
In the beginning of the Covid-19 virus outbreak, it seems that most people were willing to give politicians a break when it came to dealing with what, then, was a great unknown. But as time has marched on, we’ve gained so much more data about the virus, who is truly at risk from it and who is not. Yet, even though it’s now clear that the vast majority of people in society are not at risk of dying from the virus, governments around the western world keep turning to mass lockdowns. Why? Might it be that these people are primarily motivated by two things: their reputations and their careers? They all seem unwilling to admit that their policies to enact these lockdowns are now completely wrong. For if they were to admit this then they fear that citizens might start asking uncomfortable questions about the destruction of their livelihoods, their savings accounts, and their businesses. So on and on it goes, with no foreseeable way in sight for 2021 … 2022 … ???
Here’s an idea: Beginning on January 1, 2021, if any more lockdowns are imposed then 100% of all public sector workers – not just the politicians – must not be paid. Not a deferment of wages but NO WAGES during these lockdown periods. One would suspect that things would then magically change.

The Forgotten People
Politicians have found it very easy to keep on shutting down businesses, especially some stores. We’re repeatedly told that their decisions are based on “data and science” and that “they’re doing it for our safety”. Rarely ever do they pause to think about the “little people” whose lives have been destroyed by these decisions. Here are some of their stories:
Adonijah Niles, a single mom, lost her job in mid-March. She had been making about $13 an hour doing part-time clerical work for a hospitality shuttle service.
Now, Niles, 26, is six months behind on rent. She and her three young kids may soon be forced out of their apartment in Watervliet, New York.
Her current income — about $380 a week in pre-tax jobless benefits and $500 in monthly food stamps — isn’t enough to cover the family’s basic living costs. It falls well short of the federal poverty line for a family of four.
Wokeraties = The New Nazis
A virtue signaling moron named Harald Schmidt, who claims to be an ethics professor, has insisted that older white people should get the Covid 19 vaccine after younger minorities:
“Older populations are whiter, ” Harald Schmidt told the New York Times. “Society is structured in a way that enables them to live longer. Instead of giving additional health benefits to those who already had more of them, we can start to level the playing field a bit.”
The Centers for Disease Control should use its own “social vulnerability index” to decide how to protect older people who are more at risk, Schmidt said. The index uses measures from the Census like poverty, unemployment, disability, housing status and education to determine which communities are most likely to feel the impact of a public health emergency. At least 18 states plan to use the index, he told The Times.
At this time, there is no word whether Herr Schmidt will be giving up his paycheck to help out a more needy minority professor.

Fighting for the Souls of Seattle and San Francisco
KOMO, the ABC affiliate in Seattle, is very brave for creating this documentary. This is an accurate view of a once beautiful city that has let itself be taken over by Woke Progressives who are convinced they know better. In fact, these “leaders” know nothing and there’s endless evidence of their outright incompetence and malfeasance. And yet, even with this insanity all around them, in the next election and the one after that, and the one after that, guess who the voters in Seattle will voter for? Citizens get the government they vote for … good and hard.
Meet the City Council and Mayor of Seattle.
17.5 minutes in, the same misery can be seen in San Francisco.

Beer & Popcorn Time in 2021
While toilet paper has frequently been out of stock throughout America in 2020, next year may see frequent outages of beer & popcorn. Why? Because we’re about to watch the Democrats tear each other apart! Alexandra Occasional-Cortex is looking to oust Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and replace them with Radical Left Wokeratis:
“A lot of this is not just about these two personalities, but also about the structural shifts that these two personalities have led in their time in leadership,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “The structural shifts of power in the House, both in process and rule, to concentrate power in party leadership of both parties, frankly, but in Democratic Party leadership to such a degree that an individual member has far less power than they did 30, 40, 50 years ago.”
This dynamic is what pushes the “really talented members of Congress that do come along” to leave or run for statewide office instead. But Pelosi has also indicated that this upcoming term could be her last, “and the left isn’t really making a plan for that either,” Ocasio-Cortez added. “So I do think that it’s something that we really need to think about.”
