White is the New Black

The insanity of the Wokeraties continues unabated:

Jason Wardill, who is a design technology teacher, was surprised to be invited by the National Education Union (NEU) to a meeting of black teachers last year.

Mr Wardill, 42, is of Mediterranean and Jewish heritage and has been trying to stop his union referring incorrectly to his ethnicity ever since – with no success.

  1. An anecdote fromway back in 1883 or 1984. I was doing doctoral studies in economics at Queen’s university, and our group of grad students were busy finishing our theses and sending off letters and CVs to universities in search of assistant professorship jobs.

One day, a Danish-born student, one Jan Bartholdy, came in happy to say he had a hiring seminar invite at Princeton University in New Jersey. We were surprised at this. Jan was a very good student, but not the super genius type who would suddenly get an invite, while in grad school, from an ivy league university.

So he went down, but came back crestfallen. The Princeton economics department thought Jan was a woman, because of his first name. Jan was a rugged, athletic guy — maybe 6 foot, 200 pounds — who in his life played competitive inter-scholastic soccer as a back-fielder. We all laughed at Jan’s affirmative action story, the fellow taken for a woman.

    1. In university, an acquaintance landed quite a large scholarship that was reserved for “women of African ancestry”. She was a blonde, blue-eyed South African ex-pat. In their contortions to avoid saying “black”, they’d forgotten about the obvious exception. They tried to revoke the scholarship but she lawyered up.

  2. “White is the New Black”

Mmm, not quite — Mr. Wardill doesn’t identify as white either.

This is just a silly administrative issue. Per Mr. Wardill’s own suggestion, the NEU just needs to switch to a broader accepted term, like “BAME”, when communicating specifically with its non-white members.

  3. It is quite a disaster to have hypocrites in power controlling our laws and policies.
Can’t seem to figure a way of getting rid of our maggots of politicians that has infected all our system as they control our money and laws.
So far, even with this Pandemic, everything has gotten worse as our politicians promise things far beyond their control.

  4. I wonder when describing one’s self as a male or female human being went of fashion?

    1. Wasn’t it around the time the “third wave” of feminism hit. Where feminist accepted trans gender as there own.
Then suddenly trans gender male>female proclaimed they didn’t need to have surgery to be female,,, and then wanted to sleep with lesbians(because they too, were lesbians, even through they had all the male junk)

  5. However … when is race never mentioned ?

Huh? Imagine that? “Bicyclists” and/or “Youths” attacked the colorless BMW driver. We really DO live in a “pretend” world now, don’t we?

PS … “things” … like BMW bodywork and windshields… can be replaced. And the 84yo woman in the front seat didn’t have a heart attack … so this will be classified as just another peaceful protest by the NYPD statistical bureau

  6. That was kind of interesting. I too am of mediterranean descent, but I alway refer to myself as Caucasian. There are three basic models of humanity and the rest are variations. It is important to remember that we are all part of the Human Race. Also important to understand that people generally prefer the company of those who are most like themselves. That’s why immigrants all move into the same neighborhoods and recreate what is familiar to themselves.

Caucasian – as in Europe North & South America
    Negro – as in Africa
    Mongoloid – as in China

    Now you know.

    1. People running dog day care services have noted it too. Dogs of similar breeds tend to hang together.

Relatives with Boston Terriers told me they would run off with the other Bostons when they dropped them off.

  7. It’s the institutional left indulging in their favorite form of nihilism, identity politics. The complainer is also indulging in identity politics. He is just arguing about the “rules”.
