Carlos Roman says he has followed all the regulations, shutting down indoor dining to obey the government edicts Gavin Newsom alleges will stop COVID-19 from spreading. Data, however, shows that restaurants pose very little risk to the spread of the Communist Chinese virus plaguing the nation. In LA County, restaurants have been linked to only 4% of COVID transmissions. Even so, local health departments are laser-focused on ensuring that restaurants are shut down or operating below their ability to survive, while Walmarts and other big-box stores are jam-packed with shoppers.
Roman’s interaction with the LA County health inspector and police was caught on camera. “If we can’t work, he can’t work!” Roman tells a police officer who asks him to move his truck, which he had pulled behind the inspector’s car, impeding him from leaving.

Unless I missed something the health inspector was giving the restaurant owner a ticket for not doing the inspector’s job of enforcing the ‘no eating’ rule on city property.
It wasn’t even on the restaurant owner’s property.
If the restaurant owner is expected and forced to do the health inspector’s job, where does that requirement end?
On the sidewalk in front of his restaurant?

A group of 30 gathered outdoors to express their belief that a law, not passed by the Legislature but brought forward by a bureaucrat known as the Chief Medical Officer, is either ineffective and/or an infringement on their individual right. The RCMP were quickly on the case, issuing prohibitive fines while saying they could do so based on a lack of sanitation facilities or washrooms. Meanwhile on June 5th, your paper reported “crowd of hundreds yelling “Black Lives Matter” at Maffeo Sutton Park, with no response from the RCMP. On Nov.9th your paper reported the RCMP released, with a promise to appear, a man arrested with 6 ounces of fentanyl, despite fentanyl deaths doubling that of covid, which are almost exclusively the elderly. Apparently hundreds yelling in unison is perfectly safe, while thirty standing quietly at an intersection, expressing an opinion contrary to the political narrative, is a threat to humanity. There seems to be a rising authoritarianism in Canada and seeing laws applied unevenly and unduly harshly, while serious criminal actors are immediately released on a ‘promise to appear’, leaves this senior citizen seriously worried
