One Flu Out Of The Wuhan Nest

Daily Mail;

A newly-uncovered trove of documents detailing plans to create a Covid-like virus in China months before the pandemic make the ‘lab leak almost certain’, experts say.

The records – obtained now by FOIA requests – lay out a plan to ‘engineer spike proteins’ to infect human cells that would then be ‘inserted into SARS-Covid backbones’ at the infamous Wuhan virology lab from December 2018.

Just a year later, in late 2019, the Covid-19 virus emerged with a uniquely adept ability to infect humans, going on to cause a global pandemic.

The proposal was made by the now-notorious EcoHealth Alliance, a New York nonprofit that channels US government grants abroad to fund these types of experiments.

Ultimately, the application was denied by the US Department of Defense, but critics say the plans laid out in the proposal serve as a ‘blueprint’ for how to create Covid.

Embattled Harvard president Claudine Gay has been hit with 40 fresh allegations of plagiarism, with claims that she lifted ‘entire paragraphs’ in her academic writing.

The new allegations were first published in a shocking report from the Washington Free Beacon and span seven publications authored by Gay, ranging from missing quotation marks around a few phrases or sentences to entire paragraphs lifted verbatim.

It comes as the House Committee on Education and the Workforce announced that it’s widening the scope of its probe into Gay’s work, according to a letter written by Rep. Virginia Foxx. The committee had already opened a probe into antisemitism at the Harvard campus following Gay’s testimony that was heavily criticized.

Gay initially submitted two corrections to papers from 2001 and 2017 after she was accused of plagiarism, adding ‘quotation marks and citations,’ a Harvard spokesman said.

However, after additional claims of plagiarism, the Ivy League then said on Wednesday that Gay would also update three spots in her Ph.D. dissertation to add attributions.

Even the NYT is coming for her.

Did we just miss out on a mini oil boom? Sure looks like it

The old bumper sticker used to say something like, “Lord, please grant me another oil boom, and I promise not to piss it away this time.”

Well, oil prices were up in 2023, but oil drilling in Saskatchewan certainly didn’t reflect that. So Pipeline Online asked Premier Scott Moe what Saskatchewan is going to do about it.

Saskatchewan’s Year in Energy: Premier Scott Moe, 2023: Part 2 Oil Drilling, or Lack Thereof

Across the border to the west, The last coal-fired power station in Alberta will soon be out of coal. A few weeks ago, a notice posted to the the Alberta Electric System Operator website provided an update on its conversion to natural gas.

The end of coal-fired power in Alberta is nigh

And this one is a doozy. This is the Liberal government trying to cement into place carbon pricing so that even if the government changes, nothing can be done about it.

It’s not hypocrisy, but hierarchy. They’re sending a message: “The asymmetry is intentional, and none of your quaint societal norms about ‘fairness’ can save you.”

It is very hard, indeed it may be impossible, to disagree with the flood of online remarks asserting that the treatment of the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel protests differ rather troublingly from the treatment meted out to Canadian truckers.

I’m not aware that Tamara Lich at any point during the trucker’s sojourn in Ottawa, in full voice, and in direct proximity to police officers, gave vent to “I’ll kill you … I’ll put you six feet deep” to either a policeman or to a passerby. During the weeks of the Freedom Convoy protest, as far as I know, and equally as far as the authorities are aware, at no point did she express murderous intent, make explicit death threats, or act with grand insouciance while doing so in the presence of numerous police.

They punish their enemies and reward their friends. And the vote rich Rapey-Beheader Community are their friends.

IDF Captures Hamas Command Complex

Progress.

In a significant development, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has disclosed the intricate tunnel network utilized by Hamas’ senior leadership in the “Elite Quarter” of Gaza City.

This area, including ‘Palestine Square,’ served as a hub for Hamas’ administrative and military operations.

Approximately 600 terrorists were eliminated by IDF forces during both ground and aerial operations to secure the area. ‘Palestine Square’ was identified as a pivotal location for Hamas’ military command, surrounded by structures functioning as command and control centers, terror tunnel entrances, and strategic buildings affiliated with the organization.

Following the successful securing of the area, a meticulous “sweep and clear” operation uncovered an extensive underground complex integral to Hamas’ tunnel system. This network, connected to significant subterranean infrastructure throughout the Gaza Strip, featured tunnel shafts discreetly embedded in the residences and offices of senior Hamas officials. These covert access points allowed for both clandestine retreats and extended periods of concealment. The subterranean network encompassed blast doors, hideouts, and provisions such as food, water, and electrical infrastructure for sustained stays.

Of notable significance, the underground tunnel system facilitated the operational direction of Hamas by senior officials like Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar, Muhammad Deif, and others. Moreover, it served as a secured pathway for their daily movement within the heart of Gaza City.

Adjacent to these structures, Hamas had established a specialized workshop dedicated to the excavation and construction of the underground network. The workshop contained a tunnel shaft equipped with logistics and construction materials, including tunnel walls and concrete arches forming the tunnel ceilings. A 20-meter deep shaft, complete with descending spiral stairs, blast doors, and tunnel bifurcations, was also discovered. The tunnel shaft was intentionally demolished by explosives placed by Hamas, and various weapons and technological devices were found in close proximity.

The Part I Like Best

…about mass immigration is how it fuels economic expansion and lowers our taxes.

The quarterly population estimate released by Statistics Canada should be sobering for Canada’s political class.

We are on track to add between 1.2 and 1.5 million new people by the end of this year. The real-time population clock, as I write this at noon on Tuesday, has our population at 40,720,342 with more than 1,400 new people having arrived in Canada since midnight.

But as we add this massive number of people, we aren’t keeping up with the required housing, infrastructure or health-care resources to match the population.

Just last week, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation announced housing starts were down 22% across the country in November — but Montreal was down 30% while Toronto and Vancouver were down 39% each. Nothing like solving the housing crisis by bringing in far more people while building fewer homes for people to live in.

Saskatchewan’s Year in Energy: Premier Scott Moe, 2023: Part 1, Fighting the Feds

Scott Moe.

Energy, and the “energy transition” being forced upon Canadians by the federal government, is becoming the dominant story, affecting all our lives and everything we do. In his year-end interview with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, Pipeline Online dives deep into the biggest energy issues of the past year.

This is Part 1: Fighting the Feds.

Part 2 will focus on addressing low oil drilling activity, despite decent oil prices.

Part 3 discusses the Clean Electricity Regulations and their impact, and widespread adoption of nuclear power.

Part 4 talks about lithium and helium development, and ends with Christmas greetings.

Ministry of Truth (Environment) pronounces EVs work in the cold, so we all have to buy them

Editor’s Note: In Pipeline Online’s continuing mission to allow the people of Saskatchewan know precisely what their federal government is telling them on climate change initiatives, here’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change Steven Guilbeault’s press release of Dec. 19, explaining how the federal government will move to outlaw the sale of gas and diesel light vehicles in 11 years and 13 days. This press release has quotes from no less than five federal ministers and one parliamentary secretary.

New Electric Vehicle Availability Standard will give Canadians better access to more affordable cars and cleaner air, says Guilbeault

And here’s the verbatim backgrounder:

Canada’s Electric Vehicle Availability Standard (regulated targets for zero-emission vehicles) backgrounder, verbatim. Did you know EVs now work when it’s really cold? That’s what the feds say! Must be true!
