In another case, Dr. James MacLean failed to administer one of three drugs used in assisted deaths — one that paralyzes the body’s muscles, including the muscles involved in breathing. The patient resumed spontaneously breathing again after initially being pronounced dead, and after MacLean had already left the home.
My goodness, he agreed to a supervision. That’ll teach him.
To paraphrase – yet again – what comedian Jay Leno once remarked about Hollywood Boulevard, “If God doesn’t destroy Canada, he owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology.”
So now MAID’s operatives are patrolling the sidewalks and coffee shops of the community, on the lookout for candidates for execution. It has to be asked if the government is paying them a bounty for successful capture and execution.

He should be supervised out of his licence.
Looks like maybe he has not managed his finances very well.
Don’t worry though: this supervision process will drive him nuts and into the retirement he so richly deserves. That is, unless his finances are even worse that expected.
Well, now I feel sympathy for the bitter old fool. If you’d suddenly given me the power to kill people whenever it struck me as prudent, the streets would be impassable with corpses. Hell, I’d probably shout “Yee haw!” as I killed ’em. This guy’s really quite dignified, when you consider.

How hard is it for a doctor to kill you if they are trying to kill you? Doctors kill people accidentally all the time and people successfully kill themselves all the time. It’s not that difficult.
iirc the third leading. Side of death is iatrogenic (medical mishap). The statistics are maintained by the ppl responsible for the deaths so odds are the deaths are higher than recorded. Add in MAID. Where does the number really rank?

Well, there are regulations you know. Procedures, guidelines, best practices, paperwork, all that sort of thing. All reviewed at the highest levels with the most sober and serious consideration, etc. and so forth.
So, pretty freakin’ hard and amazingly expensive. But by the end, you’re still dead. Which to me is the opposite of medical care. Call me old fashioned, I guess.
I propose a dumpster next to the hospital. There’s a gate on the roof where you have to put in ten bucks for it to open. For the haulage fee to carry your big dead ass away. Or, deluxe version, you can pay $15 and there’s a diving board, and a recording of your chosen priest, parson, witch-doctor or Shirley freakin’ MacLaine, speed-reading your last rites so they finish before you get to the sudden stop at the bottom.

Gubmint loves MAID making way for offing white geezers and replacing them with brown muslim yutes.
The doc needed compassion.
When the government owns the best medical system in the world it functions just as well as the best news corporation in the world which they also own.
Perhaps they will find Dr. Theresa Tam to supervise him, if she isn’t too busy plotting with WHO for ever expanding powers.
I’m not defending this guy, but you know the “later” in “later personally drove the man” was over 6 months, right? And that a second medical professionals (as required by law) performed an eligibility assessment on this patient.
I think we can make a decent critique of our health care system without omitting relevant facts.

I’d like to suggest that the only relevant fact here is “patient = dead.” The rest is either pointless or people covering their backsides in case Reality comes to bite them later.
Should medical doctors, the government and hospitals be in the business of deliberately killing patients? Ever? If the answer is no, (or how about H3LL NO!!!) then everything else is BS.
Really starting to blur that line between a serial killer scoping out his next victim and compassionate doctor helping out a sick patient, aren’t we.
There are way too many sociopathic or psychopathic doctors out there for my liking.
