The Part I Like Best

…about mass immigration is how it fuels economic expansion and lowers our taxes.

The quarterly population estimate released by Statistics Canada should be sobering for Canada’s political class.

We are on track to add between 1.2 and 1.5 million new people by the end of this year. The real-time population clock, as I write this at noon on Tuesday, has our population at 40,720,342 with more than 1,400 new people having arrived in Canada since midnight.

But as we add this massive number of people, we aren’t keeping up with the required housing, infrastructure or health-care resources to match the population.

Just last week, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation announced housing starts were down 22% across the country in November — but Montreal was down 30% while Toronto and Vancouver were down 39% each. Nothing like solving the housing crisis by bringing in far more people while building fewer homes for people to live in.

  1. Why is this always described as “IMMIGRATION”..?

Call this what this is – an INVASION of illegal Migrants fully supported by the WEF Owned Liberal Govt. 98% of of whom will contribute SFA to this country….just like their benefactors.

    1. Well steakman, they are migrants and because the Government of Canada is giving them entry permits, they are legal migrants (there are some illegal but the vast majority are being brought in by government programs). Incoming migration is call immigration. Deem are the words.

Remember Freeland said the high level of immigration is the ‘secret sauce’ to our GDP.
Doug Ford on Freeland becoming Finance Minister: “I absolutely love Chrystia Freeland. She’s amazing. I’ll have her back, I’ll help her any way we can” “There’s no one that would be better in that role than Chrystia Freeland” “If there was one person, I have confidence in, it is Chrystia Freeland. She’s going to do an incredible job”

      1. Yes, Mike, Chrystia Freelunch does an amazing job fellating the WEF and does nothing for her own country except ruin it.

  2. All members of the Liberal Party of Canada should be treated like Christmas ornaments……..

  3. We could reduce immigration to zero and medicare would never keep up with demand. That’s a feature, not a bug, of socialized medicine.

When interest rates fell to near zero, that sparked an unsustainable run-up in asset prices, including real estate. Now that we’re headed back to zero, expect housing prices to soar in the coming years, whether we have zero immigration or not.

  4. “Canada as a radical act of becoming” seems to be our new National Mythology. The Canadian political class has completely lost its mind. They must truly HATE us.

But we continue to vote them into office, obey their rules, put our money into their banks, wear their masks, take their vaccines, eat their bugs, etc. (one hopes the Abeline Paradox is at work here, and more people need to speak out. I can’t image that this is popular with the Canadian rank and file, Even the immigrant rank and file)

  5. Even my little farming community is becoming more diverse. Sadly, no hot asian women…

There are a lot of predictions that the jab deaths will really pick up in the next few years, especially when the turbo cancers and other diseases start offing people.

Between that and the debt bomb, or the US going completely insane, who knows what’ll happen. Canada may no longer be that appealing in a few years.

    Hopefully it’ll be a lot less crowded…

  6. Immigrants will vote for an expanded economy and better opportunities. The Libs + NDP provide neither. Good point Kate!

  7. I’m seeing controlled demolition…how bout you? Beats me why they’d want to come here when you can fly to Mexico and go for a walk. As bad as things are in the U.S. I have to believe it isn’t half as bad as here.

    1. And he should continue … not saying.
Anything specific he says will be red meat to the marxists.
Keep in loose PP and pith off Jamie M who wants a detailed platform two years before an election giving the monolithic marxists everywhere lots of fuel to destroy any chance for conservatives to gain power to at least get a remote chance of turning things around.

Let’s face it saying anything negative about the INVASION is raaaaaacist.

      1. Gosh no! I wouldn’t want him to reveal too much. I mean, that’s not his way, is it.

Silent Pierre. Remember how he held his cards and stayed so quiet for 22 months? Man oh man, that must have been difficult, eh? All the while he just wanted to scream out what we all needed to hear: “Free My *&^%$<g People, Joostaihn!" But No Sirree, he bit his tongue and pleaded the 5th.

        1. When the enemy is destroying itself, keepa yo mouth shut about anything highly controversial. Did Turdo lay out his plan to destroy Canada before 2015? And when he captured the crown did he do the whole ball of wax at once or incrementally.

I may join you in your cynicism if PP wins meaningfully and stays silent.

You should save yourself a lot of grief and give up on the political punditry. You are doomed to deep and permanent disappointment. I gave up on libertarianism for that reason.

  8. There are a handful of ethnic demographics who pose the only challenge to the secret dictatorship of those who rule us by proxy through their puppets in gov’t. And as such, they are the target of every gov’t program. These programs are designed to make them poorer, weaker, reduce their numbers, and eventually eliminate them.

The sky high costs of mass immigration are borne mostly by them. The social network they’ve been forced to pay into will be mostly given to others. The schools they financed will teach the children of foreigners. Their jobs will be given to foreigners and their children. Their cities will be populated by foreigners and their children.

If you view the actions of gov’t through this lens, it should bring much-needed clarity. Every gov’t is a puppet gov’t controlled by the same people, and they all push the same agenda. The same people are always targeted (and no, these people aren’t the unrelated hodge-podge of people groups collectively known as “Jews”) and their populations keep dwindling.

This goes mostly unnoticed because we are instead taught to focus on how many people live in a nation, as though a nation’s inhabitants were synonymous with their ethnicity. But that ignores the reality that of the 40 million people living in Canada, few of them are what we would have called “Canadians” a generation ago. In the same way, there are precious few Germans left on Earth. And of those we call “Germans”, there are very few remaining of the ethnicities that used to comprise those lands. Same with the Celts. Same with the Gauls.

  9. What happens when the free federal money runs out, then the provinces have to pick up the free stuff tab. We can’t afford a million people coming here each year living off the peasants, but they’ll vote liberal and that is the only reason the left are using foreigners to colonize Canada.

    1. And there is ready a yuge housing shortage, a health/sickness system that is completely overwhelmed, and yet, a shortage of qualified workers for thousands of jobs.
The Lieberals are doubling down on stupid, wrecking this country, they aren’t oblivious, this is all on purpose.

  10. Serious question.

Assume for the moment that stripping Canadians of their citizenship is off the table (that’s a power I don’t want to give any government). Canada hands out citizenship like water.

What proportion of the recent mass immigration wave has already been granted citizenship? What, if anything, can be done about that proportion?

This also assumes that simply deporting any and every non-citizen immediately is feasible (it’s legal, but political suicide and probably logistically impossible as well)

  11. Speaking of immigrants and fuels, 1 dead, 5 others hospitalized in Waterloo because apparently no one else in the world knows you shouldn’t leave a car running in a garage with the door closed.

  12. Rest assured every announcement of migration opportunity is received with joy in the donor countries.
Their governments see this as a relief valve to population and infrastructure woes and now the remittances are becoming a new source for taxation.

  13. It increases profits of the obscenely wealthy ruling class of the Empire of Mammon by reducing their labour costs.

In other words, they want their wage-slaves living in one room per family and eating ground-up vermin for every meal, reserving a life of luxury, idleness, and organic produce for a few thousand people, at most.

Of course, under those conditions their wage-slaves will be so miserable they won’t bother breeding, which is why new recruits must continuously be sought.

  14. When the Irish are at the point where they would rather burn a 150 year old hotel than see it infested with third world migrants, you know a historical tipping point is very close.

  15. It is obvious to anyone with any common sense that both the Trudeau-Liberals and the Biden-Obama-Democrats are allowing a flood of “economic immigrants” to invade Canada and the US as a means of population replacement , with the goal of perpetual Liberal-Canada and Democrat-US rule , via the thankful votes of those new arrivals.

    1. The only thing wrong with the strategy is that they are both so completely incompetent and hidebound by ideology, the newcomers won’t be thankful as they find out its a shithole they’ve come to.

  16. How long before the Liberal government decides that the way to alleviate the housing crisis is to mandate that home owners with spare rooms take in a migrant or 2 or 3? This could be done indirectly through tax policy – heavy surtax on homes with spare unoccupied rooms and tax allowance for homes housing migrants.

  17. Back in ancient times, aka the 1970’s, “experts” claimed the average immigrant took five years to assimilate and become employed and an asset to the country. That was in the days when most immigrants came from Europe and were fairly well educated, and a lot of them spoke English.

With current immigration focused on third world countries, especially the ME, what is the time frame for assimilation and becoming an asset to this country? No one ever seems to mention this, but I have serious doubts many of the 3rd world immigrants will be qualified to fit into Canada as useful, employed taxpayers. Who was the idiot that stated we needed more immigrants to build all the housing we need?

The ME isn’t a hotbed of well trained tradesmen who can move here and start working in the construction industry the next week.

What percentage of immigrants become permanent wards of the State/taxpayer?

  18. Shouldn’t there be excessive numbers of doctors and nurses by now??

I thought they said they had to open the floodgates to bring in the highest skilled people in the whole world.

Still looking for a family doctor around here.

    1. Sid:
My wife and I finally, after years of trying, found a GP at the beginning of the Covid-19 fiasco. He spent time aggressively promoting the vaxx as well as sending patients to specialist surgeons who then diagnosed everyone with major illnesses, cancers et al., and pressed to operate. I refused to be injected.
My wife is now severely limited in terms of mobility after an unnecessary procedure.
I will no longer visit my (nominal) GP but elect to drive 25 kms to a small town hospital emergency department for treatment. They have been, literally, lifesavers.
Ask yourself, what level of skills will the third world “medical experts” contribute? I doubt any of us will be trading up.

  19. RS..
“We will soon have third world style shantytowns because that’s all people can afford.”
Ohh is that what we call tent cities?

    1. They’ll be high class tent cities with old pallets and corrugated iron instead of just tents. It will be like what we see in pictures from Haiti, Nigeria and India.

  20. “Montreal was down 30% while Toronto and Vancouver were down 39% each.”

Who, I wonder, is going to risk their capital building houses when the city, provincial and federal governments are all RAISING TAXES on building-related profits, while at the same time trying as hard as they can to REDUCE THE PRICE of housing? Builders will lose their shirts in such an environment.

I suppose that shanty-towns are the intended result. Odd that a government would want such things, but there it is. Perhaps we should vote them out?

    1. According to the city of toronot, we have an affordability crisis in toronot, never mentioned is the development fees that start at $37k and go up from there, which is hidden in your price so that they can also charge the misnamed “Land Transfer Tax” on it.

And that’s assuming you don’t want a bylaw variance that will require even more “development charges”…

  21. Here in CA … every new home requires photovoltaic solar panels … and fire sprinklers. And a myriad of ever more complex and stringent seismic codes. Every new home MUST have an EV hookup. Regulations drown every single new residence built in CA …

And people wonder why housing is so expensive … and every freeway underpass and city park are homeless encampments?

And it’s all getting WORSE … not better. And suddenly … CA tax revenues have fallen short and the State is (at least) $60 B in debt. No money for any more FREE STUFF … but the Supermajority woke Leftist EXTREMISTS in State government will spend it anyway.

  22. Canada is a Ponzi scheme and has been since before the turn of the century.
But some people are making a lot of money and they count more than all the rest of us put together.
Slums, low wages, mass drug use, shitty commie health care – they’re not affected.
    Big business is super happy.
Banks, grocery chains, land developers, Rogers/Bell are all cheering, “More, more, more!”
    It’ll get worse every year.
    Misery loves company.

  23. Government was, is, and continues to be the problem. All the so called analysis and words will not change that.
