Bad Advice
Who knew that Canada’s problems are the result of not paying people enough not to work?
At the heart of the issue, he said, is Canada’s eroded social safety net, particularly employment insurance (EI), which, along with other social programs, isn’t keeping up with today’s economy.
EI benefits have mostly stayed the same in value and replace roughly 55 per cent of a person’s wages. The benefits are higher than in the United States, but they lag far behind European countries such as Denmark, where they replace 90 per cent of a person’s wages, the Netherlands (70 per cent) and Sweden (80 per cent).

Britain’s “Canadian Nazi” Moment
Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose. Here is British PM Keir Starmer:

- on Dec. 29, 2025
The resignation of the entire Labour government doesn’t come close to what should happen to these buffoons.

Inconvenient Data
Record low temperatures will inevitably be dismissed as an example of changing weather, while any instance of warming temps will continue to be regarded as evidence of changing climate and thus deserving of an ongoing declaration of emergency. I expect we’ll be building ever more carbon sequestration projects, if only to be on the “safe” side.
On Dec. 23, a weather monitoring station in Braeburn, Yukon, recorded a temperature reading of -55.7 degrees Celsius, the lowest December temperature charted in Canada since 1975. For context, this isn’t too far off the average temperature on the surface of Mars, a planet whose lack of atmosphere renders it notably cold and uninhabitable.

Jerusalem Post- Taxpayer-funded Swedish schools tied to Islamist extremist welfare fraud
Over a billion Swedish kronor, or more than $100 million, in taxpayer-backed funds intended to support preschools and schools in Sweden have been siphoned off through an Islamist-affiliated network engaged in welfare fraud, an investigation by the Swedish newspaper Expressen revealed last Wednesday.
Large sums were sent to Waberi’s Islamist party in Somalia, while others were spent on private purchases, including Thai sex clubs, political party membership fees, and trips to luxury hotels in southeast Asia and Kenya, the report added.

>=A major new study from Stanford Medicine, published in Science Translational Medicine, offers a fundamentally new explanation for rare cases of mRNA vaccine–associated myocarditis. Rather than simply showing that cardiac injury occurs, the researchers identify a specific immune signaling mechanism that can trigger heart cells to damage themselves from within.
Crucially, the authors describe this mechanism as a potential class effect of mRNA technology, raising important design considerations not only for current COVID vaccines, but also for future mRNA vaccines and cancer therapies.

Global- Toronto hate crime suspect denied refugee status in 2018
One of the Toronto men recently charged with alleged hate and extremism-motivated crimes targeting women and Jews was denied refugee status more than seven years ago, according to court records. Government records obtained by Global News show that Osman Azizov is an Azerbaijani citizen who, accompanied by his parents, crossed into Canada between official border points near Lacolle, Que., in 2017.
I, For One, Welcome Our New Self-Driving Overlords
Earlier this year, Microsoft officially yanked the cord on Windows 10, ending support for an operating system that had been superseded by Windows 11 four years earlier.
But the tech giant’s controversial attempts to shoehorn AI into every aspect of the software appear to have turned off a staggering number of users from upgrading. While it’s to be expected at this point that not everybody will have jumped at the opportunity to update their machine’s operating system, the sheer scale of that refusal is staggering.
As Forbes reports, a whopping 1 billion PCs are still running Windows 10 — despite half of them technically being eligible for an upgrade.[…]
It’s an already familiar battle, with AI emerging as a major turn-off for consumers across several other industries as well.
Last month, Windows president Pavan Davuluri announced that the operating system would become an “agentic OS,” baking AI features directly into the software.
Core users, however, were appalled by the notion.

“The press only seems to show interest when immigrants have parallel experiences that the people who built Canada have been experiencing in the system for literally decades. One of the many reasons our system is collapsing is the influx of sickly, elderly foreigners and medical tourists who I am told sometimes will take a taxi straight from the airport to the hospital.”

@Beaverd: – I realized while making this that there is no real cohesive database for government funding data or corruption tracking. I think the Minnesota fraud is the tip of the iceberg. Bonus: This German woman’s video of visiting Florida (and America) for the first time, reminds me of a whole lot of Canadians I’ve met. The one difference is that she’s polite.
