ABC News deleted a report criticizing the business dealings of President Donald Trump’s oldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, Thursday after facing legal threats but has failed to provide any explanation or editor’s note for the vanished “hit piece.”
The now-deleted report, which can still be viewed via the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, was published Wednesday with the headline, “Trump sons’ investments have won billions in Pentagon contracts since his election,” and said Anduril, the company investing in a new Baltimore shipyard, had ties to Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.
“1789 Capital — a venture capital firm that lists Donald Trump Jr. as one of six partners along with three founders — claimed a major stake in Anduril in June 2025 from a $2.5 billion investment into the company,” ABC News reported in the deleted story.

Canada’s economy shed a net 68,300 jobs in September and the unemployment rate edged up, data showed on Friday, erasing all the employment gains recorded earlier this year.
The unexpected drop follows a decline of 41,700 jobs in August, Statistics Canada said. The unemployment level in September inched up to 6.5 per cent from 6.4 per cent in August.
September was the first full month after a new round of U.S. tariffs took effect against Canada. However, the largest job losses were in the public sector, particularly health care, social assistance and education, as the government cut international student permits.
Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast an increase of 9,200 jobs and an unemployment rate of 6.5 per cent.

The U.S. Department of Labor announced it would suspend Microsoft and Adobe from its Permanent Labor Certification program on Thursday, Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling said, as the Trump administration continues to take aim at immigration and foreign hiring programs ahead of November’s midterm elections.
Sonderling said the Labor Department won’t accept or process any new applications under the program for a host of companies, including Cognizant, Infosys, Capgemini, Tata, Wipro and HCL.
The secretary said Adobe and Microsoft were also suspended “due to multiple active federal investigations.”
“Since 2009, just these companies alone have requested almost 3 million foreign workers. They’ve received over 230,000 H-1B visas approvals and over 100,000 permanent labor certifications. That’s hundreds of thousands of jobs that were taken from American workers,” Sonderling said.
If only Canadian Conservatives possessed this level of clarity: “You cannot lay off American workers and then replace them with foreign indentured servants.”
