The last time I was in a Canadian Tire, I may have wanted some paint thinner? and walked through the tools section and everything was locked up. Now Canadian Tire doesn’t sell great tools, they are ALL tier 2, the power tools from DeWalt for example are not their pro lines, everyone working in the trades knows this, and all the hand tools are far from what we’d typically use, ALL made in China with the exception of the made in America Channellock tools.
I think they’re locked up because there’s no real value in pursuing charges against those who will be let off with a warning. What’s the point? And the only staff on hand were a couple of cashiers, two folks on the sales floor, and a manager who looked like he’d “had enough of this” by 11am. I put in a call for a sales associate to help access and… waited, waited, no one came. So I left. I don’t know how Canadian Tire stays in business and I clearly don’t care enough anymore. Are they profitable? Maybe they are? What they import from China and sell as quality goods is maybe quite profitable.
But my Gray Canada tools, and the sockets and ratchets are never going to be for sale.
further down at Robert’s link from above, and the Lego post.. was this:

Yep.
If it were people taking items they truly needed but couldn’t afford, we might be sympathetic. But it’s not. It’s just F’ing lowlife thieves taking whatever they can. And for some idiotic reason, the left is perfectly fine with that.
Another example is when Celine Dion scolded us and told us it was perfectly acceptable for criminals in New Orleans to clean out the local Walmarts of big screen TVs after Hurricane Katrina.
yep too.
from a google AI search:
During a September 2005 interview on CNN’s Larry King Live following Hurricane Katrina, Celine Dion dismissed public outrage over looters stealing television sets, saying, “Who cares? They’re not going to go too far with it. Maybe those people are so poor, some of the people who do that they’re so poor they’ve never touched anything in their lives. Let them touch those things for once.”
didnt she just go thru a seriously debilitating illness? is that some Karma going her way?
we’ve got a Home Despot right across the street from our Cdn Tire, theyre getting to be the same way.

I always used to buy tools on a whim at Canadian Tire. About five years ago they put heavy black chain link cages over everything. There are no lights in the cages so it’s really hard to see anything. In that time I tried to buy one thing. I found a minimum wage Filipino to open up the cage and take it up to the cashier. I was about 20th in line so I made the decision not to wait and walked out. I’m guessing they aren’t getting rich on tools.
Was at CT, south side Lethbridge, a few weeks back.
Youngest had just bought herself some new to her wheels. Needed rear shocks. She asked where to shop, I told her CT. On a Wednesday she called them up, yes, they carried shocks. On Fri she went to pick them up, found out that the shocks they recommended were, in fact, for her vehicle, but only if she had a 3″ lift kit, which she didn’t.
They took another look, found another set & she brought them over Sat AM for me to install. Wrong shocks. Mounting type was incorrect. Gave ’em a call, no, they don’t have any other shocks. Neither did north side store.
Called up a local jobber store, Silver Automotive, yes, they had several options in stock. Drove over, picked up an OEM equivalent, parts guy even sold them to her for the jobber price (as it was her very first vehicle purchase) & we headed over to CT to return the wrong shocks.
Wanted to talk to the automotive manager. She’s not in. Well, I wanted to talk to somebody, anybody. Few minutes later the logistics (?!) manager shows up. I explain to her what had happened & noted my extreme displeasure at their ineptitude. It’s shocks, FFS, not rocket surgery. Heaven forbid if we asked about something truly difficult, like an oil filter or washer fluid?
As I had her ear, I also mentioned two other issues I’d had w/ the parts departments in that store & the north side location in the past. She apologized & told us they had no desire to lose a customer. I informed her that, as a first time vehicle owner, they’d never actually had our daughter as a customer and that she’d learned two things from the experience: never go to CT for vehicle parts & to support local (Silver Automotive).
The logistics manager took my name & number, promising me a call from the automotive manager Monday AM.
Still waiting for that call.
FWIW, I rarely grace the place w/ my shadow & even less often for auto parts. I just thought it would be a convenient starting point for our daughter. Lesson learned, for both of us.

However, nothing beats Dildo, Newfoundland, on Dildo Arm.
Is that near the Come By Chance Refinery?
Appropriately (or ironically) it’s near Conception Bay.
I’m forming a Newfoundland band called the Bight of Orgasm.
I’d go with Dildo Conception, it has a biblical analogy.

https://www.cp24.com/local/toronto/2026/10/10/home-documentary-from-degrassi-co-creator-explores-complexities-of-ontario-encampment/
On World Homeless Day one Linda Schuyler, the producer and creator of the CBC’s Degrassi High, comes out with a documentary on Toronto’s homelessness. You see homelessness has absolutely NOTHING, repeat NOTHING to do with the availability of hard drugs, or runaway migration driving up housing costs. The issues are “complex”.
Note that according to Elections Canada records Ms. Schuyler has donated thousands of dollars to the federal Liberal Party, including $1,702.17 during the 2025 election. Election Canada records also show that the CBC producer lives in The Beaches area of Toronto, that tony, tree-lined district with a beautiful view of Lake Ontario. This well-to-do lifestyle gives her the expertise to show the “complexities” of homeless existence.
Thus the free promotion from the Canadian Press.
I used to live in the “upper, upper Beaches” (according to the real estate agent) which is above Gerrard Street, just east of Coxwell. Everyone wants the Beaches designation. While living there, I discovered that most of the residents are NDP and then Liberal supporters. They also work mostly in the entertainment industries, such as actors, producers, crew members or unemployed musicians. All of them are “grifters” with the attitude of “What’s in it for me?” Again, this is based on my humble experiences. I was self-employed in the design and construction industry.
So I am NOT surprised at this comment.
East of Coxwell? How very avant Gerrard! Old Toronto joke there.
I was in Costco the other day, and it’s just swimming with foreign ass-holes. Found some grass fed beef sticks, all marked up as product of Canada which served to remind me where all these foreign ass-holes came from. Then I started to wonder if the beef sticks may actually have come from China. I put the beef (or dog) sticks down and rushed to the register with my RedBull Advent calendars.
(I used to worry that Christmas was getting too commercialized.)

Stop with the Trump rhetoric:
Trump didn’t stall the growth of our GDP/capita for the last ten years. Trump didn’t flood our country with millions of migrants. Trump didn’t throw away hundreds of billions of our dollars on “green” energy. Trump didn’t cause our housing costs to skyrocket and cause the worst housing and homeless crisis this country has ever seen. Trump didn’t make the Canadian government add $600 billon to our debt, out pacing all former PM’s combined, and through two world wars. Trump didn’t legalize hard drugs, leading to the worst-ever overdose deaths in Canadian history. Trump didn’t create our healthcare crisis. Trump didn’t cause 2 million Canadians to go hungry and now rely on food banks. Trump didn’t impose a carbon tax on everything. Trump didn’t turn our dollar into monopoly money. Trump didn’t shut down the means to get our oil and gas to overseas markets, when no other oil-producing country in the world would do that.
Trudeau and his advisor Carney along with his incompetent Liberal minions did all of that….”

Merely one in a long list of reasons this country is going for shit. You don’t need a GD ‘expert’ to figger this out. The Sun empire are the masters of the obvious. I don’t know who is worse: Goldstein or Lilley?

This is the same mantra from our brilliant one. Focus on growing the economy and the deficit will look after itself.

… helping the less fortunate… healthcare for all …
Dear dumb MI voters; America provides EXTENSIVE … FREE … medical care for every American unable to pay for their own medical care. Yet … if you HAVE a job, and HAVE the ability to pay … then why should you MAKE your neighbor PAY for YOU … while you take your family on two trips to Disneyland and two cruises to the Bahamas?

I’m always amused at seeing baby changing tables in men’s restrooms. Sorry. But tampon changing stalls … sorry, that’s a change I did NOT need to see.

Nick Shirley Does It Again: A $120 Can of Spam Busts Open Seattle’s Food Stamp Fraud

What continues to anger me is that NOBODY in our government is assigned to chase down this fraud that they HAVE TO KNOW about in detail … but fixing that fraud will diminish their own government gravy train.
Well…
It turns out that if you’re unhappy about the demographic displacement currently underway – say, in your own, modest neighbourhood, Cate Blanchett questions your humanity and thinks you need educating by actors.
Ms Blanchett, needless to say, is unlikely ever to face any of the issues illustrated above. Living, as she does, in a five-million-pound Victorian manor on a thirteen-acre estate near the overwhelmingly white town of Crowborough in East Sussex. And her other properties, including what is referred to as a holiday cottage in Cornwall, are similarly insulated from any untoward diversity.
As Ms Blanchett doesn’t have to use public transport for a daily commute, she isn’t likely to find herself sitting next to a masturbating African. And she isn’t likely to find all that vibrancy and enrichment crouching on her doorstep and taking a shit.

Why were Europeans the only group to ever colonize the planet?
Overlooking history and the fact this was written by a person with an IQ of 80, how can you resist clicking Next. And why were the Europeans the only colonizers? Read the first answer below. I have to plant some garlic now.
“One of the most important factors for why Europeans were the planet’s only colonizers comes down to pure luck. In the entirety of human history, only 14 large mammal species have ever been domesticated, and most of them are native to Europe.”
