The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning against all travel to Canada due to the ‘”current situation” in the country.
 
The United States CDC issued a Level 4 or “very high” warning against all travel to Canada, stating: “Because of the current situation in Canada even fully vaccinated travellers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants.”
 
If they must travel to Canada, U.S. residents are advised to “get fully vaccinated before travel.” Further, all travellers are instructed to wear a mask, stay six feet from others, avoid crowds, and wash their hands.
 
The advisory also notes that there is a “very high level of COVID-19 in Canada.”

Noted and quoted: “They can’t remove people blocking rail lines but they can erect a fence around a church. Weird.“

Torture or death seem to be the only two options for seniors trapped in our long term care homes. The blame for this falls squarely on the shoulders of governments. Not society, not greedy corporations, not selfish children, the ones who have the power are in GOVERNMENT.

Residents of Ontario’s long-term care homes begged on Tuesday to be allowed outside, saying anti-pandemic restrictions that have confined them indoors for more than a year make no sense given almost all have now been vaccinated.

Some compared their situations to solitary confinement, and urged the provincial government to act on what they called a gross violation of their basic human rights.

Chuck Ferkranus, a resident of a home in Newmarket, Ont., said no one in the building has COVID-19 and yet residents are stuck in their rooms. Ferkranus, who challenged those in authority to live as he does for even a week, said residents are being treated worse than criminals.

“We did nothing wrong; we’re not guilty of any crime,” he said. “If vaccinations don’t end the rules, if no one having COVID doesn’t end the restrictions, then what does it take before this comes to an end?”

Many of an estimated 150,000 nursing home residents have been confined to their rooms or floors for as long as 15 months now, cut off from most relatives as well as the outdoors. Activists blame extreme staffing shortages and operators who prioritize corporate needs ahead of the welfare of residents.

I know of several people who I’ve thought for years already should probably be in some kind of assisted living arrangement who have opted to remain in their own homes. Turns out they were right. As frail as they are they’re still better off looking after themselves.

What does this mean moving forward? Why would anyone want to wind up in one of these places after what we’ve just witnessed over the past year?

Lets have a look at where we’re at today.

  • Total population: 1,372,708
  • Number over 65 years of age: 218,776
  • Total number of people in hospital with covid:142
  • In ICU: 29
  • Number of active cases:1252
  • Number vaccine doses administered: 204,107
  • Number of doses in freezers: 139,730

So… the potential is/was there to have 171,865 of the most vulnerable people in the province fully vaccinated.  No comment on how they’ve decided to hand these out.

1,371,456 people or 99.91% of the population are in code red lockdown, because of 1252 cases where 142 people required hospitalization.

No indication from the central scrutinizers when/how/why this might ever change.

Anyone want to check my math?

* Further thought, just over 32,000 people who have recovered and probably have better immunity than the vaccinated. And that’s just the official numbers we know about.

We are staring in the face of a serious food crisis in Europe as food prices rise continuously, and with further draconian COVID measures within the EU, they are bringing the food supply chains to a standstill.

All the indications that the world is heading for a serious food price crisis are in play. The Food Price Index (FFPI) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) averaged 107.5 points in December 2020, an increase of 2.3 points (2.2%) compared to November 2020, which represents an increase for the seventh consecutive month.

What is clear is that if we see a significant food shortage, that will also lead to major social unrest and political upheaval would be the result. The mismanagement of the EU government may in fact be their undoing. After all, in the course of the current crisis mismanagement as people have lost jobs and told to stay at home or else, their purchasing power has also decreased simultaneously. This is the worst of all possible outcomes and it is why I question are the leaders really this stupid, or are they devious?

The world is by no means prepared for a food crisis. In major cities, the crisis becomes paramount. In Germany, for example, the VAT stands at 19% for basic food and other everyday items. The European high income-taxes and drastically high VAT taxes further reduce the purchasing power of the common citizen. Add to that the problem of distributing food in a crisis in cities. It has long been realized that even cities like New York have at best a 7-day food supply. A crisis that becomes prolonged will result in a collapse of civil order.

There is no question that the upward trend in prices has been set in motion by the coronavirus restrictions.

There’s still no proof that lockdowns save lives but plenty of evidence that they end them, as I found by looking at the toll of “excess deaths” during the pandemic. Last year in the United States there were 130,000 more deaths than normal that were not attributed to the coronavirus.
 
These excess deaths occurred disproportionately among the young and middle-aged, minorities and low-income workers — groups hit especially hard by the lockdowns. The toll has been especially high in locked-down California but not in unlocked Florida. The mortality rate among younger people soared in America but not in Sweden, where it has been below normal. All of which confirms that the lockdowns are “trickle-down epidemiology” — protecting the laptop class at the expense of the working class — and constitute one of the greatest public-health mistakes in history.

Make no mistake – epidemiologists were well aware that lockdowns would result in premature and unnecessary deaths from social distress and delayed access to health care and diagnosis. Those numbers will be in models that were never released to the public, but they will exist.

Another: Government-contracted quarantine officer charged with sexual assault and extortion

“Police investigation revealed that on February 18, 2021, the accused attended a residence in Oakville to conduct a quarantine compliance check,” the statement reads.
 
“The accused informed the victim that they were in violation of the quarantine order and demanded that a fine be paid in cash. When the victim declined to pay, she was sexually assaulted by the accused.”
 
According to police, the accused is employed with a private security firm the Public Health Agency of Canada hired to contact and track individuals who are quarantining. Police want to remind the public that contracted quarantine officers are not members of law enforcement and cannot issue tickets or make arrests.
 
“On February 23, 2021, HRPS officers with the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit located and arrested 27 year-old Hemant (full name) of Hamilton. Police will not be disclosing the name of the security company that employs Hemant, but can confirm that he has been suspended.”

Chris Selley: Indeed, it’s days like Wednesday that make me wonder how Canadians maintain any trust in governments at all, never mind support for their demonstrably lacklustre anti-pandemic efforts.

A man has been charged with sexual assault after an incident last week at a Montreal COVID-19 quarantine hotel.
 
The woman alleging the assault told CTV News that the man came into her room, refused to leave, partially undressed and touched her against her will, only leaving when she threatened to scream.
 
She also said she felt “helpless” at the hotel, where she didn’t expect to end up, and where she was told she wasn’t allowed to disclose her location.

She was askin’ for it: Today @cafreeland said “people shouldn’t travel” when pushed on reports of sexual assault at a federal quarantine facility.
