Bret Weinstein is the Proverbial Canary in the Coal Mine

A few days ago Bret Weinstein sat down with Joe Rogan and they had the most engaging three hour discussion. There are so many profound things that were said. In talking about how to help young Black Americans improve their lives, Weinstein proposed that more should be done to encourage them get into the sciences. Who is at the front lines stopping this? Woke White people. About this latter group, he offered this gem:

“If you end up in Critical Theory – any one of these fields: Women’s Studies, Queer Studies, whatever it is – you have already foregone this [STEM] option. You don’t end up in Critical Theory if you have the chops to do Science. So, in effect, you have people who don’t stand to personally benefit from opening those [STEM] doors wider because they wouldn’t go through them, arguing that nobody should go through those doors.”

If you ever suspected that many Wokeratis were D-level #MathIsHard individuals with severe Daddy issues, you would be correct.

What Do the Woke Left and White Supremacists Have in Common?

Some have called this recent podcast episode by Sam Harris the most important podcast segment in the history of the Internet. It’s long. He has nothing nice to say about Trump. But his message for reasonable people on the Left is critically important. This would be a brilliant link to send to all of your Left-leaning family & friends and encourage them to listen to it to the end.

(Seconded by Kate. It’s an important podcast and people like Sam Harris, no matter their partisan leaning, need our support.)

John Cleese Pushes Back Against the Insanity

This past week, cancel culture reached a fever pitch with BBC owned TV network UKTV removing a Fawlty Towers episode called “The Germans”. The co-creator of this brilliant TV sitcom, John Cleese, has pushed back and it has been restored:

Speaking to Australian newspaper The Age, Cleese had said: “The Major was an old fossil left over from decades before. We were not supporting his views, we were making fun of them. If they can’t see that, if people are too stupid to see that, what can one say?”

He slammed BBC executives for yielding to pressure from protesters. “A lot of the people in charge now at the BBC just want to hang onto their jobs,” he said. “If a few people get excited they pacify them rather than standing their ground as they would have done 30 or 40 years ago.”

On Twitter, Cleese doubled down on his criticism of the BBC. “The BBC is now run by a mixture of marketing people and petty bureaucrats,” he wrote. “It used to have a large sprinkling of people who’d actually made programs. Not any more. So BBC decisions are made by persons whose main concern is not losing their jobs. That’s why they’re so cowardly and gutless and contemptible.”

Feel free to watch the episode here yourself and decide.

Visit The Washington Monument While You Still Can

“What is the logical conclusion? What is the end of the cancel culture? I will tell you what it is. It is right here in this city, Washington, the District of Columbia. That’s where it will end if we don’t put an end to the madness now,” Cotton warned.

“Just up the Mall is the Washington Monument. Are we gonna tear the Washington Monument down? Are we going to rename it the Obelisk of Wokeness?” the senator asked.

“Up the Hill is the Washington National Cathedral where so many times we have gathered as a nation over the years to mourn our great leaders, to pray for God’s protection and deliverance in moments of national strife and struggle,” Cotton continued. “Are we going to rename the Washington National Cathedral the ‘Temple of Reason’ as the Jacobins did to Notre Dame during the French Revolution?”

I believe their answer is “yes”.
