B.C. bill to ban corporate and union donations, replaces revenue with public subsidy
Been there, done that federally. The provinces are behind the times when it comes to political financing. Getting the tax-payer to support them is just wrong.
Trust Nothing
A version of Piriform’s CCleaner was injected with a trojan during the build.
Based on further analysis, we found that the 5.33.6162 version of CCleaner and the 1.07.3191 version of CCleaner Cloud was illegally modified before it was released to the public, and we started an investigation process. We also immediately contacted law enforcement units and worked with them on resolving the issue. Before delving into the technical details, let me say that the threat has now been resolved in the sense that the rogue server is down, other potential servers are out of the control of the attacker, and we’re moving all existing CCleaner v5.33.6162 users to the latest version.
No Matter What You Say, They Will Scream At You
For many protesters, the specifics of what the opposition says is not the point. What matters is that the counter-movement is trying to use the energy of the (event) to grow. This is an opportunity for them — and they are likely to seize upon it.

CFL Picks Week 13
Friday, Saskatchewan @ Hamilton: After getting their butts handed to them by Winnipeg last week a more humble Riders go against a suddenly winning team in the TiCats. Riders added Otha Foster and Jeff Knox Jr. back to the roster after they were cut by their NFL teams. Pick Riders.
Saturday:
Edmonton @ Toronto: Can the Eskimos get over their discipline problems to stay focused on the Argonauts? Toronto is well rested after their bye week. This is their chance to show the CFL they are in the running. Pick Toronto.
BC @ Calgary: Jennings showed he was back in form last week after the season ending injury to Lulay. Can their D hold a strong Calgary offence? Probably not. Pick Stampeders.
Sunday, Ottawa @ Montreal: Two weeks ago the TiCats had the week from hell. Now it was the Alouettes turn. The Als let go Head Coach Jacques Chapdelaine and D-Coord Noel Thorpe. Word is the players are not too shook up about it. Still, chaos is chaos. Pick RedBlacks.
Other CFL News: Next year the season will be 21 weeks, including 3 bye weeks per team and they are eliminating full contact padded practices during the season. Pads and contact will still be allowed during rookie and training camps. These are both good decisions in my opinion especially because they worked hand-in-hand with the CFLPA on these decisions. Can you say “limiting liability”?

Bill Morneau pushes back on ‘misinformation’ coming out about proposed tax changes
“The owner stepped out in front, she says, ‘You know, I can’t afford 73 per cent increases and this is what these proposed changes would mean to me.’ Well, in actual fact, the business owner that I talked to would never be impacted to that degree by the changes we’re talking about here.”
So, how much is the owner impacted then, eh? Can’t answer that, can you? Firstly because it would cause riots, secondly because you’re quickly revising everything to do with this.

BC Budget Day
It’s budget day in BC.
Now that Darryl Plecas turned coat and shattered the hopes of moderate British Columbians to hold the NDP/Greens to a modicum of reasonableness, expect this budget to hurt.
The real reason
Trudeau and Morneau are pushing ahead with their ill-thought and dangerous tax changes under the guise of fairness with the intention of dividing Canadians. They come out and yell that we small business owners are thieves, stiffing the system, dangerous.
Get the Conservatives to support small business owners, farmers, the doctor and vet and you can then claim they are the party of the 1%. If the electorate is stupid enough to believe it, you’re set.
The fact that it’s stupid tax-policy, a drastic change to small business practice and an incentive to just shut everything down means nothing to these loose-guns.
Some outlets see the idiocy for what it is.
CPC MP Erin O’Toole writes in the Toronto Sun about who will actually be impacted by these dangerous policies.
Kevyn Nightingale lambastes the Liberals for playing politics with such important gov’t policies.
Mathieu Bedard in a Special to the Sun highlights the history of these supposed “loopholes” and who these children in gov’t are targeting.
Jim Warren cynical Liberal politics of division that pit Canadians against each other.
Lorne Gunter highlights who the real 1% are in Canada.

Canada has deported hundreds to war-torn countries: government data
Canada has deported hundreds of people to countries designated too dangerous for civilians, with more than half of those people being sent back to Iraq, according to government data obtained by Reuters.
Not that I disagree with deporting most of those who fail Canada’s fairly lax standards, but the reality of this gov’t is far from the image presented.
