New survey data suggests many Gen Z workers are actively undermining company AI strategies rather than quietly adopting them.

so generation z is NOT generation zzzzzzzzzzz.
good for them.
l was with Beaver Lumber until l got let go for . . . . . . . . . being overheard in the lunch room declaring if
l had a chance to ‘do it over again’ l wd aim for airline pilot. apparently thAt constituted not being dedicated to my zhob. anyways, before their demise the newly minted CEO came up with a goofy campaign the store staff had some sort of slogan button to welcome the customers.
they all hated it. by the end of the day l was the only one sporting one because . . . . . . . dedicated.
heyo manager, if ya dont have the front line ppl on board FORGET IT.
“l got let go for being overheard in the lunch room…”
No, that’s just what they told you. The real reason is you made Karen uncomfortable, whoever Karen was in that time and place. Somebody up the ladder a little way who didn’t like the cut of your jib.
It’s my opinion that any sort of corporate job is a special form of Hell these days. They’re just kicking you in the b*lls because they can, no other reason. On the bright side, what goes around comes around, so little Karen has that to look forward to.
well, when Beaver was sold for pennies on the dollar to Home Hardware Bldg Ctr l did get a certain
ummmm, gloating satisfaction? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaver_Lumber
Of course, if it’s Vampire Beaver Lumber, it’ll probably keep coming back.
“… many Gen Z workers are actively undermining company AI strategies…”
…because anybody with two grey cells to rub together, and anybody who cares even a tiny little bit about their job and their company, knows that AI is a scam. Vibe-coding is great until you get to the part where the AI hallucinated a system call. New models are hallucinating about 46% of the time. That’s within 4% of a coin-flip, ladies and gentlemen.
Yes, no kidding, young people starting out hate AI. Because they want to keep their jobs, not lose them to the company going bankrupt. Duh.
Uh … so it’s open WAR against AI, eh? And what do you believe the machines will do in retaliation? F-over every single computer-controlled system we’re utterly dependent on? Yeah, all those Biden-approved KILL switches on your automobiles? That’s just the start. Wall Street – down. All your phones and internet -down. Every public Utility – down. GIS – down. Every satellite – down.

I’m starting to believe the Book of Revelation wasn’t just a rambling, incoherent, fever dream penned by a starving prisoner. Maybe John was given an-accurate glimpse of man’s arrogant future … by God.
“And what do you believe the machines will do in retaliation?”
Nothing. That’s what “AI” will do. Not a single damn thing.
It’ll sit there like a Holly carburetor on a shelf, gathering dust until a human asks it a question, and then it will get the answer wrong.
It -pretends- to have agency and reason, but in fact it does not. The reason why it displays those traits is MARKETING. The company wants you to talk to it more, and therefore spend more money on tokens.
I’ve found it mildly useful looking up stuff I can verify from independent sources. Ask the question, see what it says, CHECK THE SOURCE MATERIAL to make sure it didn’t make all that up.
Here’s an interesting datum for you. First generation LLMs trained on web data “hallucinated” aka made sh1t up 16% of the time according to Anthropic company reports. Second gen trained on a mix of human data and “synthetic” data hallucinated 33% of the time, a third.
Current gen trained on way more synthetic data than real human data hallucinates 47% of the time. Like, half. It’s a coin flip.
Next gen will be worse.
This is the tippy tippy top of the market. If you have money in AI, get it out before the big dip hits.
AI is a scammy bubble because in reality it is maybe a 20% improvement on the Google search engine. Maybe.
It would be a 0% improvement had not Google enshitified and enfraudulated its search engine by taking bribes from advertisers.
Has anyone else noticed that Amazon and Google seem to marching lockstep down the enshitification – enfraudulization path to bankruptcy?
Not Gen Z but doing what I can. However, the e-suite has bought in hook, line, and sinker. I suggested that my time would be better spent opting out of our internal AI training, as I had no intention of using it for my workflow (extremely limited utility for what I do), and the shitstorm went all the way to the top and generated a personal meeting on the issue. Blinkered by buzzwords.
