  1. All I ever think of when I read about hurricane cones, wind speeds, and tidal surges … is … https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v-n605Bch9g
… but then it cleans me out, and then I can go on Sorry to say it … but at least half of Florida would benefit from a good thorough hurricane cleansing. I believe Jimmy also sang about his hope that all those tin can trailers and trailer parks would get swept away.
Speaking of cleaning things out of Florida … allow me another personal story about State-sanctioned corruption in the State of Florida. My father in law suffered a horrible debilitating stroke. And what he needed (according to all the stroke experts in the “conventional” medical community) was intense physical therapy. But my swindler-huckster of a brother in Law surfed the internet and found an “alternative” medicine Doctor who set-up shop in Clearwater Florida … Dr. Hammesfahr. The good Doctor “believes” that he can “reverse” strokes by dilating the blood vessels in the brain. A technique which is so simple and easily executed that if were true … would virtually eliminate stroke from the human race. Of course I countered my idiot brother in laws quack “medical” clinic … http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/Tests/tcd.html But a funny thing happens when the science and physiology illiterates (my Mother in law, and brother in law) are desperate to “save” their loved ones, and are willing to spend $ 10’s of thousands of dollars (well over $100k) at some Quack clinic and Doctor in the State of Florida. So off my Father in law went to Dr Hammesfahr’s clinic in Clearwater … where he spent months and $$$$ … and if anything … he got WORSE. So I did a little research and discovered that the State of Florida actually sanctions and protects Quackery in their State. Seems as though desperate end of life, disease-ravaged, geriatrics have lots of $$$ to spend. The State luvvvvvs the tax revenue and all other revenue that desperate geriatrics spend in their State. So their medical boards license quack clinics across the State. Florida is filled with old people, and medical quackery. It actually disgusts me that the State allows, nay … sanctions … the exploitation of desperate oldsters with money to spend. Profiting from the medical desperation of our elders is obvious ABUSE. But Florida treasures elder $$$ … like plumbing the depths of their own depravity for the treasure of sunken health.
A1A is the high water mark in the novelty-music career of Country Western singer-songwriter, Jimmy Buffet … and his lyrics about the cleansing effects of hurricanes is … sadly true. I hope it can somehow clean the swamp of the State medical boards.

  2. I get a kick out of the media having to be on site to demonstrate how windy and rainy it is by being where no one should be in front of the camera while repeating the orders of the authorities for everyone to evacuate. I could almost see a SNL skit (way back when they were funny) of media people being blown away and then replaced by another to experience the same fate.

  3. In regards to the Darwin Award comment. Back in the early 1900’s Florida had a hurricane. The train that ran through the keys disappeared and was never found. The survivors in the keys made by tying themselves and their children to palm trees.

  4. Bummer … lashing oneself onto a post … loses its thrill when the KILLER!! WORST EVER HURRICANE IN THE HISTORY OF GLOBAL WARMING!!! … peters out from a cat. 5 to cat.4 to cat. 3 … oh oh oh !!! back to a cat.4 … *sigh* … back to a cat.3 … now a cat.2 … weakening, weakening, weakening … as MOST hurricanes do. Now the lashee is going to get wet and breezy.

Oh oh oh !!!! But the 15FT storm surge will surely Drown him … and KILL HIM DEADT !!! (note: check Al Gore’s sea level rise 5m. map … 10,000 sq miles will be flooded … with thousands of dead people. Yeah … right.
The little boys (and girls) in the mass media better stop “crying Wolf” with every rustling in the bushes. Or they will eventually get eaten by the REAL wolf. Now tell us all about how ONLY the poor black folks (and brown-skinned Spanish-speaking residents) were unable to take the evacuation orders … cause of “racism”.

  5. God bless and protect Mar-a-Lago, and also please float any welfare grubbing illegals back to Cuba (as safely as possible of course).

  6. Ditto. I believe their raft flotilla of repatriation will be helped along by the hurricane storm surge. They can “surf” the hurricane back to their Caribbean homelands. BTW … how come we saw -0- images or videos of the hurricane destruction in Cuba ? Oh yeahhhhh … the media ONLY films happy positive stories about Cuba. Not about Cuban misery. No wonder the media has no credibility.

  7. We have friends in Hudson which I believe is on the north-east corner of and close to Tampa. They told us in a communication that they are ready for it. Our prayers for their safety.

  8. “CNN takes the prize on absurd coverage antics.”
Anderson Cooper — after being in conversation with meteorologist Chad Myers — said that “the storm is playing games with us”, in reference to meteorologists (namely CNN’s) getting the storm track wrong, first saying it would ride up the east coast and then getting it wrong by saying the eye would ride up the west coast, when it fact it deviated into the middle of the state.
On a separate note, I was north of Toronto on the weekend and had fun engaged in archery. I missed the bullseye and the arrow I slung went into the woods… clearly, someone misplaced the target.
