Canada has deported hundreds of people to countries designated too dangerous for civilians, with more than half of those people being sent back to Iraq, according to government data obtained by Reuters.
Not that I disagree with deporting most of those who fail Canada’s fairly lax standards, but the reality of this gov’t is far from the image presented.
Have to wonder how the media has kept so quiet about this or how the NDP hasn’t been beating the liberals over the head figuratively with this?

First, I don’t support junior.
However, we can’t have it both ways, complaining about sending disqualified migrants back and also complaining about unqualified migrants coming in. (Please note the term migrant and immigrant.)
The gov’t did say they would do security screening and investigations and deport disqualified candidates. They did do what they said they would do. What’s the problem? (Besides the fact they brought/let them in to start with!)
This gov’t did a stupid thing with its open arms and everyone welcome message, now they need to separate the chaff and get rid of it. This chaff has criminal or public safety concerns.
So I see a few hundred over 2.5 years, compared to 30-40 thousand brought or let in. Hardly an issue. I think they are not being hard enough, and need to be more stringent and have many more returns to do.
One ruling, one appeal to investigate errors, misinformation or new data. Our legal system is jammed enough.
Canada does have room for some immigrants, but there is no room for migrants. Immigrants apply and come legally, migrants just come and bust down the door.

Jonathan Kay has a good piece regarding the efficacy of bringing refugees to Canada. Canadians should be thinking about this,rather than being seduced by Liberal virtue signaling.

Most of Iraq isn’t all that dangerous. I have relatives who’ve worked there for the last 10 years. Other than the AK47 in his truck and some Peshmerga guys hanging around it’s probably no more dangerous than Rainbow Lake.
Did you read the piece? It basically argues that bringing refugees into Western countries is not the best option for helping people from war-torn countries. I did not think this article was typical left-wing at all.
Probably sent back any Christians. The world knows Canada is a top sanctuary country for the enemies of western civilization and that will not change anytime soon.

Toronto elite has made a fetish of tolerating the migrants, but not Quebec. The only reason you don’t hear about it is French language media gets no national play in this country.

In a discussion of this issue elsewhere, someone suggested that it is in line with policies coming from the globalists. Their aim is to break down capitalism and replace it with socialism. Property rights also have to go. I don’t know if this is the reason behind the move, but it would not surprise me. The move certainly comes across as something intended to undermine entrepreneurship.

I did not read the article , did not look at the numbers but if they send back hundreds ( 200? 300 ?) and they import 25,000 a year, who cares?
