Alaska student’s research upends understanding of upper atmospheric wind;

“All of the computer models say that this wind spills out quite some distance toward the equator and then eventually slows and blends into the background flow, just like traffic merging onto a highway,” Conde said. “There should be quite a strong flow extending far equatorward, but we find that it basically just hits a wall over Alaska on some occasions. It really should continue and spill out just like the models say.”

The finding has implications for spacecraft orbits, space debris avoidance, ionospheric storm modeling and our understanding about the transport of air in the thermosphere.

The thermosphere is far less dense, almost to a vacuum, compared to air at the Earth’s surface. And that means the occasional stalling of the cross-polar jet won’t be noticed on the surface or affect life here.

But what causes this stalling? That hasn’t been resolved yet. Itani’s paper does offer a correlation, however: A review of seven years of data shows a “strong influence” from solar activity. Thermospheric wind stalling is most likely to occur during solar minimum, the period of low disturbance on the sun’s surface.

Like many other Ontario universities, my university is requiring all students, staff and faculty to take the Covid-19 vaccine. As I write this, faculty and staff in Ontario are losing their jobs and students are being kicked out of school because they refuse to take a drug. Full-time instructors like microbiologist and biochemist Michael Palmer at the University of Waterloo are being terminated, part-time instructors are having winter courses reassigned and students are suspending their studies in the winter semester.

[The] concern about the danger of the vaccines is justified, at the very least, by the fact that two vaccines have been proscribed in some jurisdictions because of adverse effects: AstraZeneca and Moderna. Concern is further justified by the facts that: 1) the long-run risk profiles of the vaccines are unknown; and 2) side-effect reporting has been incomplete. Public health messaging about vaccine risks has been less than forthcoming presumably because of the fear that the unvarnished truth would discourage vaccine use. But deceptive messaging also reduces vaccine acceptance over the longer term by eroding trust.

Many people support mandates because they believe they are entitled to be free of the risk of infection from the unvaccinated. That right doesn’t exist in the Charter – nor in the common law or in history.

I suspect that Canadian authorities will be watching events in Austria quite closely over the next few weeks, probably with smiles on their faces as they rub their hands with glee. Now that the vaxxpass system is failing, they will be looking for ways to hit those they view as expendable cattle even harder.

Austria has already banned the unvaccinated from going to restaurants, cinemas, ski lifts and hairdressers, but things are about to get even tougher in Upper Austria.

The province is introducing a lockdown for the unvaccinated.

The chancellor says this means that people who have not been vaccinated won’t be able to leave home, unless it is for essential reasons like going to work, buying food or exercise.

Unheard Concerns: Thousands blame COVID-19 vaccine for hearing problems Tinnitus sufferers explain sudden onset after shot.

More than 10,000 Americans have reported tinnitus as a possible side effect of the COVID-19 vaccine, and some are now questioning why the FDA and CDC are not taking a deeper look into their claims about hearing problems.

“It’s a constant high pitch string,” Robert Edmonds told ABC15 during a July visit to Phoenix for tinnitus-related medical care. Tinnitus is a ringing or buzzing noise in one or both ears that may be constant or come and go. It is often associated with hearing loss.

Contrary to claims that most of these reports are made by lay-people and are hence clinically unreliable, we identified health service employees as the reporter in at least 67%. The sample contains only people vaccinated early in the programme, and hence is made up primarily of those who are elderly or with significant health conditions. Despite this, there were only 14% of the cases for which a vaccine reaction could be ruled out as a contributing factor in their death.

When The FBI Does It, That Means That It’s Not Illegal

Today’s FBI leadership seems to consist of a partnership between Democrat operatives and organized crime.

But I repeat myself.

Empower Oversight filed a FOIA request with the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Office of Inspector General (OIG) regarding a recently published investigative summary, which reported that in 2014, three high-level Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials spent $2 million in government funds without proper authorization and then falsified official records to conceal their misconduct.

Specifically, a then-Special Agent in Charge (SAC) and two then-Assistant Special Agents in Charge (ASAC) purchased $2 million in “intellectual property related to a classified undercover operation” without authorization and in violation of FBI policy. In furtherance of the purchase, the ASAC’s failed to disclose accurate cash-on-hand figures, and the SAC “deliberately falsified a funding request,” both of which actions also violate FBI policy.

Before the investigation was completed, the SAC and one of the ASACs retired, and the second ASAC resigned.

The DOJ-OIG reported that prosecution of the three high-level FBI officials was declined and that it had provided a classified report to the FBI for whatever action it deemed appropriate.
Empower Oversight is seeking documents that would explain how the FBI’s internal control procedures failed to prevent the unauthorized $2 million purchase, whether the FBI conducted a criminal investigation into the matter, and why the DOJ did not prosecute these three individuals. Given the SAC’s senior level position with significant powers, authorities, and discretion, Empower Oversight also is seeking records that reveal the SAC’s identity and the regional office where the misconduct occurred.

Our Cathedral elites are slow to learn that the world doesn’t actually turn through the efforts of New York Times writers and software coders.

I have a simple question for every ‘expert’ who thinks they understand the root causes of the shipping crisis:

Why is there only one crane for every 50–100 trucks at every port in America?

No ‘expert’ will answer this question.

I’m a Class A truck driver with experience in nearly every aspect of freight. My experience in the trucking industry of 20 years tells me that nothing is going to change in the shipping industry.
