Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Here’s the sad state of our military; I retired 6 years ago (W.O.) from the CF after 27 years service and a total of 20 months in combat ops in AFG. Some of my buddies are still in. A few are W.O. or CWO while one is a Major. They all tell me the morale is extremely LOW for experienced leaders and they can’t wait to retire. They also recommend against joining our military.
I believe them as I had to fill in at times for my boss on planning boards or go away to train Sgts…
Don’t bother joining as long as wide array of shortfalls exist.
Justin was late to the service. He only got there at a few minutes to 11:00 and his party was walking around almost to the minute; and the GG didn’t arrive until even after that.
Did Justin have to fly in and they delayed everything for him? The Peace Tower clock showed 11:00 so they did change the clocks in Ottawa last weekend so it’s not that.
The service is on now so the CBC talking heads are silent; and I was watching on CPAC without any commentary at all from 10:30 so I don’t know if the Ceeb guys said anything about it earlier.
I just don’t feel the same way I used to about November 11.
I grew up listening to stories from one of my aged relatives who was there. The Somme, Passchendaele, Vimy (where he did things that got him the DCM) – he saw it all. Unusual for his generation, he didn’t at all mind talking about it.
I’m satisfied that those men were of a different species. Present-day “official” commemoration just makes me sad. After all, our modern batch of “officials” clearly view the people of that generation (and those of WWII/Korea) as being part of a history that must be defamed and then destroyed at every opportunity.
We don’t deserve what they did. And we can never again return to the society that they created and worked to sustain.
11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, how the f**k can your dishonour that?
As the manchild as said himself “There is no mainstream in Canada We are post-national”.
The left only trot out on the 11th to do their annual publicity stunt.
I’ve stopped going to the service years ago.
I’d rather go to the Legion and buy a vet a couple of pops and talk to them about their service stories.
Great song! In the latest monument to futility, there’s a stone marker in Thunder Bay’s Waverly Park dedicated to the three young local men who died in NATO’s campaign to bring “peace and freedom to Afghanistan”. I’m tempted to deface it (but I won’t).
Pfightin’ to keep the world safe for Pfizer?
RIP all.

Replier in that tweet claims a medical emergency blocked the route there.
There is no greater disgrace or insult to the memory of those who died fighting for freedom than seeing a shallow, gutless, power-hungry tit like turdo la doo pretending to do them honour.
No wonder my son’s GG’s Academic Medal is now months late with no announcement as to when they might actually be issued. Who is this useless bitch anyway?
Thirty-six years in the RCAF/Canadian Forces and I am not permitted in the Legion on Remembrance Day because they are checking for “double vaxx’d” at the door! This “two weeks to flatten the curve” has gone on for far too long.
