Now, the Obama Administration has, by executive fiat, determined that a private company must give away its services to a class of people it (“The Administration”) has determined should get these services.
Going back to our California example, what is to stop the Federal Department of Energy from requiring auto insurers to provide no-cost insurance to anyone driving a car running on electricity, natural gas, or bio-diesel – to promote the use of those vehicles.
For that matter, what’s to prevent the U.S. Government from telling GM (which still owes us about $25 billion) they need to provide small, fuel efficient cars to people who cannot otherwise afford them, but live in areas that have limited public transportation?
I don’t understand where that authority comes from. But it worries me, very much.

Operation Fast and Furious allowed more than 2,000 weapons to “walk,” indicating that those in charge of the operation were willing to let thousands of Mexican nationals die in an effort to identify the ringleaders of a cartel’s weapon acquisition team.

And it could only happen under a Democratic administration, because only a Democratic administration could rely on a free pass by media.

Under President Obama’s new definitions, a family of four in Oakland is “near poor” if their annual pre-tax income is less than $89,700 plus medical insurance. In metropolitan Washington, D.C., the near-poverty line became $80,500. In New York, it’s now $78,500; in Boston, $68,900; and Chicago, $68,600.
One result: The income level for “near poverty” is now very close to the median household income in most communities. (Median income means half the households have more income and half have less.)
So it should be no surprise that, with these new standards, the Census Bureau “discovered” that almost half the U.S. population lives in or “near” poverty. The system is designed to produce that result.
The Obama administration’s new poverty measures are high-octane political propaganda. By dramatically expanding the definition of poverty (and near poverty), the administration furthers the president’s agenda to “spread the wealth.” By artificially inflating the number of Americans counted as poor or near poor, the administration expects to generate political pressure to expand the welfare state and raise taxes.

Barely a week goes by when we’re not told by the liberal media what an incredible “genius” Barack Obama is. Genius. Brilliant. Smartest U.S. President ever. Blah, blah, blah.
After seeing this photo of Obama talking to a 6th Grade class, it was beyond delightful to hear Newt Gingrich say this:

Their “audacity” has allowed them to “fundamentally change” America, shred The Constitution, and start a class and race war that threatens the peace of cities across the country. Their destruction of the bedrock beliefs and institutions that make America exceptional is without parallel in our history. Their open and arrogant pillage of public and private treasure is a felony, an ongoing criminal conspiracy. This fascist crowd has gained power, has a plan to take away individual liberties, and has critically wounded The Republic. The hands of thousands of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrns have guided the Marxist brainwashing of America’s children for several decades, making them useful tools for “hope and change”. Moral decay has been swallowed as entertainment, and has been used to promote hatred of our nation, our laws, our morality. What passes for news reaches for ever-lower levels of degradation and preaches a mind-warping leftist dogma. The future looks pretty bleak for those who love their freedom, rather than the soft enslavement of a government dependent. Recovery will require fierce, aggressive patriotic Americans with the will, moral certainty, and strength of character to bring The Republic back to health. Those patriots are not to be found in any of the three branches of government. Throw them all out.
