Barely a week goes by when we’re not told by the liberal media what an incredible “genius” Barack Obama is. Genius. Brilliant. Smartest U.S. President ever. Blah, blah, blah.
After seeing this photo of Obama talking to a 6th Grade class, it was beyond delightful to hear Newt Gingrich say this:

“If he (President Obama) wants to use a teleprompter, that would be fine with me.”

  1. Here’s how I know Obama’s not very smart: His wife is/was a semi-literate. Her undergrad thesis proves it (and let’s face it, it’s “is”. If she couldn’t write a proper sentence by the time she’d spent years at Princeton, she won’t have learned since). This matters. It’s not like she was a science major. Now one of the few things I’ll say for Barry is that he does seem to have a real marriage. Brilliant people do not tend to marry people who aren’t all that bright. I rest my case.

  2. His brilliance, or lack thereof, is irrelevant. Are we, as a nation, better off now than we were four years ago? Judging by unemployment, or real inflation (what you pay at the gas pump and in the grocery store), or job security, I’m arguing no.
    He is not effective and needs to be replaced. Anyone who wants to argue otherwise can start by trying to convince me why, with two years of absolute control of the Executive and Legislature by his party, we are here today.

    The one thing that gives me the heebie geebies though is that bill Clinton spoke well of him last week. Why would he do that? Does he think that newt is easier to defeat in November?
    Clinton never says anything without purpose. What’s his game now.
    That’s not to say that Clinton would be correct in thinking newt is easier to beat – he’s been wrong before – most spectacularly when he was his wife’s campaign manager.

  4. Doesn’t matter who’s smarter. Doesn’t matter who wins the White House. What matters is that the stated American debt is more than 100% of GNP. If the unfunded liabilities are included it’s more than 350% of GNP.
    They’re toast.
    And so are we.

    If you want to talk brilliant, which very few can lay a claim to, Gingrich would be the one of the two.
    Obama is, at best a good orator, that is about where his capacity ends. His oratory is not intellectual, it’s teleprompter induced. Obama does not have any faults since he’s really got nothing going for him. He resembles a cardboard cut-out produced in Hollywood
    Gingrich with his command of fact and lip can wipe the floor with Obama and have clean water left over. Of course Gingrich has his faults, pretty much as everyone else.
    The rest is a matter of tolerance, how much can one handle.

    Even the dullest lefty will realize that buckwheat is simply the speaker for TOTUS….oh wait…they haven’t yet……
    For the undecided if buckwheat deployed TOTUS, it would be game over…
    Besides what makes anyone think buckwheat will debate anyone….he even refuses questions at pressers…..probably because TOTUS can’t keep up either…….

  12. I know Obama’s not smart because I’m an assessor of English and have analysed his substandard spoken and written English on a number of occasions: he’s a disaster off-teleprompter. His expression is chock full of sentence fragments, omissions, substitutions—such as this mixed metaphor, “roll back the specter of a warming planet”: “spectre” means ghost—regular noun/verb, noun/pronoun disagreements, and mispronunciations. This is not a man who’s mastered the English language. (Nor, as Black Mamba notes, has Michelle, “notre belle”). By comparison, in the language department, Dubya’s a regular William F. Buckley Jr.! No wonder all of Obama’s academic records are sealed.
    And, of course, I haven’t even mentioned Obama’s massive ignorance of reality: Victor Davis Hanson and others have thoroughly documented Obama’s serial, egregious gaffes on one topic after another, e.g., that he’d visited “all 57 states” and that Hawaii is in “Asia”. “What a maroon,” as the esteemed Bugs would say.
    That the Americans were so mesmerized by this snake oil salesman that they handed to Obama the most power of anyone on the planet is truly alarming. This man is a complete impostor: for those who have ears to hear, Obama’s misuse of the English language is a potent clue to that truth.

  14. It doesn’t matter who’s the better debater,or who has the highest IQ,the U.S. desperately needs a Leader who can approach the job from a different perspective,and rectify the current situation.
    That’s why many of us backed Cain,as he isn’t just another politician,with all the baggage of loyalty to “the way things are done in Washington”.
    Unfortunately, Americans won’t vote for a man who wasn’t celibate since puberty,so quality of leadership is secondary to ability to cover up one’s affairs d’amour.
    I wonder how many capable politicians have been swept aside because they had sexual no-no’s in their past. If a corporation chose it’s CEO by the same criteria,they’d probably go bankrupt within five years.
    Powerful men attract groupies,whether in politics or any other business,and the fact that a person takes advantage of the offers shouldn’t preclude his taking on the CEO’s job, especially in times of crisis.
    Perhaps Eisenhower should never have been considered for Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces due to his alleged affair with his Kay Summersby.
    The Allies might have been more politically correct if they’d waited for Romeo Dallaire to take over. The forty year wait surely wouldn’t have had that negative an effect on Europe,would it?
    Obama should never have been considered for the top job in the Nation,regardless of any other factor, he simply isn’t qualified. He’s a mouthpiece,he’s “Chance the Gardener”, put in place by truly evil men.
    Gingrich is old Washington politics,with years of working within the system to his credit,but there’s no reason to believe he will take the drastic action needed to get America back on it’s feet.
    More likely,he’ll carry on with politics as usual,although he won’t need a teleprompter to do so.
    As “johnpeg” said earlier,”they’re toast,so are we”, unless they elect a President who will do the dirty job.
    Obama certainly won’t,and it’s doubtful if the Washington insider,Gingrich would either.

  15. Newt will likely not be given the opportunity to debate Obama, at least not in any non media-controlled and thoroughly dominated forum should he win the nomination. The media will run a strong enough interference so as to keep Obama essentially isolated. His billion dollar war chest will fund a tremendous anti-Newt add campaign quoting all of Newt’s various policy direction statements portraying him as a loose cannon, perhaps somewhat accurately, going off in all directions.
    What’s interesting is who is behind their support. Big business money has gone to Ronmey, while the establishment Republicans (political class, some in Fox News) seem to be moving towards Newt. Meanwhile some influential conservative pundits have come out against both (Beck and Steyn). Two days ago, Glenn Beck said after describing Newt and Romney both as big government Republicans, that although he will vote for the Republican nominee, his choice of candidate is Bachmann or possibly Pawlenty.

  16. Well, the international crony-capitalist cartel just can’t seem to sell a POTUS Candidate to GOP voters. They tried with Bilderberg Rick Perry but we saw through his façade (and his public drunkenness). Next they tried Smilin’ Pizza man Hermie Cane and we saw his carnal weakness when the Dems outed him as a black Bill Clinton with all his cast off one night stands. Romney’s gun hate and open boarders don’t sit well with voters and his progressive left instincts are wearing thin as his numbers continue to flat line. Now they’re trolling poor old flip-flopping wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing Newt in front of us to see if we’ll bite.
    Newt is about as corrupt a globalist you will ever find – bought and paid for CFR puppet, like the one they have in the oval office now. He’ll open the treasury to the international white collar crime cartel as sure as bears shite in buck wheat. When his long record of political compromising catches up with him GOP voters will see he’s as big a fraudster as president Barry Soetoro.

    With respect, no, he’s not a good orator. He just has a nice voice.
    Gingrich is smart and he’s my current best bet; but I’m afraid of his vanity and his lack of… conviction, or principles, or consistency. Something like that. I’m even more afraid that he won’t be electable; over Obama, certainly, but I think he’ll be up against Hillary.

  21. lookout – and it’s worth stressing that Barry and Michelle were both lawyers. In a chemist, say, I could forgive linguistic clumsiness because, hey, they know complicated things about molecules and such. But a lawyer has to be verbally skilled, to be able to deal with language.
    Can you imagine handing Michelle Obama a file of dense legal briefs and analyses and opinions and expecting her to make sense of them? I honestly can’t. Funny how she pulled down such a high salary in Chicago when her husband was a rising politician there.
    Oh, but remember now, Sarah Palin’s a moron. A moron! She’s never achieved anything. She’s just a joke, a bimbo. Keep repeating that.
