Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“You are asking more than we can give”.
Stealing that, thanks for the reminder.
There’s no words to redeem that statement. Only actions. Not little ones. If we are truly anti American, our troops are the best spot to prove it. Do better Canada or STFU
So we are replacing veterans who fought for Canada with low priced labour from the shithole world? Silver spoon Carney has no appreciation of the dual purpose of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. Clueless prick!
This makes me wonder what Carney, Trump, and others are whispering to each other.
I’m putting this down to The Abraham Accords … wherein Trump is using business relationships to counteract eternal ME conflict. It’s worth a go in my humble opinion. Perhaps Trump committed our 51st State to the Deal as well ?
Yes, I do amuse myself … and like to tweak Pierre P. simultaneously …
given that signing up with the women’s wing of the armed forces gets you knocked flat on the volleyball court, and signing up with any other arm gets you on the unemployment line when you retire,
why would anyone enlist in said Cdn Armed FARCES ???
l acquired a serious grudge when the enlistment top age was raised, putting me in line for the reserve.
l was disqualified for admitting l busted an achilles tendon, LONG before that, that had long ago healed.
proof of that l was doing > 1000 pounds regularly on the leg press at that time.
no matter.
l concluded the brass running the recruiting centre gave an order ‘dont let any 40somethings in’
welll scaREW you major/captain/lieutenant/whatever
Mall Cops or Veteran soldiers … yeah, tough choice. Err, Muslim-operated Mall Cops.
Have seen many GardaWorld non-ex-military “security” guards.
Most of ’em are melanin-enhanced slobs, who don’t look like they could secure anything.
Preferred option: hire Commissionaires, give ’em weapons and photos of long-time serial criminals.
Silly people…..this is only an outrage if a conservative does it! Otherwise it’s a yawn. Enjoy the decline! 學會說中文
Commissionnaires, if they were ex-CF were ideal for the job on bases. They knew the system and took it in stride. For some of them it helped keep them close to an outfit they spent most of their lives in. Like a home of sort. Some would probably have a hard time fitting in anywhere else. The Garda people? There are a lot of turban-wearing people working security now, almost exclusively, to be honest.
L – Canadian military veterans would be especially valued and honoured in the Republic of Western Canada.
if AB pulls the plug in time there should be enough Commissionaires types to handle any increased security requirements. if anyone surmises lm hinting personnel from TROC will on their own or at the beck and call of ottawaS bosses engage in sabotage measures . . . . . . . . . yer right!!!
L – “Poor is the country that has no heroes. Poorer still is the country having heroes, fails to honour them.” – Cicero
Veterans know the meaning of “Hold The Line” and can pass that on to those, who will need to learn it. Chaos to the east of us and chaos to the west of us and not by accident. Hard times need hard men to make good times…
Not a lot of Commisionaires are Veterans anymore. I’m a Vet…23 years. Though I didn’t need a job, I joined to work part-time, just for something to do outside the house. Ended up in a City gov’t branch, with about 25 Commisionaires in the branch. Of them, including myself, only 5 were Vets. Of the remaining 20, a little of half were visible-minority immigrants (Mexico, Philippines, Middle-east & Africa); one immigrant from Ukraine (a former police officer from Kharkiv, her husband still in Ukr); and the remainder were Canadian non-immigrants, some of whom would be un-hire-able elsewhere for various reasons. I left after 9 months. Like I said, didn’t need a job, and I lost most of my summer to call-in work on short notice.
This is not correct. The Commissionaires stopped being about veterans a long time ago. They even rebadged their uniforms and their logo to look more civilian and inclusive. Having done security licensing in my home province I wouldn’t consider the Commissionaires to be any different that Guard World these days.
