Want to help save a pipe organ? Apparently, the University of Alberta quietly made plans to begin removing this organ from Convocation Hall on April 30, without consultation, but the music community got wind of it.
Over 36,000 people signed the petition in just a few days, but the more the merrier! (How do you cheer up an organist? Give them a “note” of encouragement.)
I don’t usually promote petitions, but this seems like a worthy one. News article here and Petition link below.

Is pipe organ music somehow offensive to the Islamist Murderer Class?
I’m quite sure they hate them and I imagine when they take over a cathedral, as they have many, many times, it is the first thing they destroy. The pipe organ, to my mind is an apex instrument grown in Christian tradition in stark contrast to the cultural stagnancy and demonstrable inferiority of Islame.
I remember a video of Obama, visiting some mosk, formerly a cathedral. The expression on his face was telling. He knew he was standing in nothing more than a vandalized church. He could feel it and it showed.
