IBEW 2067 reaction to NDP power plan: Come down to Estevan and Coronach and tell us about it
The Saskatchewan New Democratic Party has been taking its “Grid and Growth Plan 2026” on the road, promoting their new electrical grid strategy in Prince Albert and Yorkton. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2067 would like to see them do the same in Estevan and Coronach, and see what reaction they get.
I’m sure a few hundred coal workers who would lose their jobs and possibly their homes would be happy to have that discussion.

One of the first things the leaders of a real workers’ and peasants’ state would do is deputize the working class and peasantry to rid the state of their socialist parasites.
The Grid and Growth plan sounds suspiciously like China’s Belt and Road plan. Meanwhile Saskatchewan’s power generation is so healthy, we were able to help 13 US states keep their lights on last winter in the middle of a severe cold snap. The Southwest Power Pool deal shows that Saskatchewan’s coal- and gas-fired power plants are productive, efficient and able to generate sufficient power to share with our neighbours to the south. Maybe the NDP brains trust could familiarize themselves with how things work in Saskatchewan, if they ever hope to form a government.
I always felt sorriest for the coal miners as they were thrown to the climate wolves first. Now I say “learn to coal”.
Next time there’s a march on Ottawa D10’s and 11’s with ripper blades should lead the way.
