Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Obama’s America: finally there’s someplace more Soviet than Canada.
With the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act, the US government can accuse people of domestic terrorism and effectively remove them from their families without any kind of due process, thus trampling on the Bill of Rights…….
This is a double edge sword, to be wielded by the the left or right….
It has the potential to give the Obamabots the tool to grasp total power….
It also is the potential tool to purge the left from every government agency.
It is the spark to ignite an emotional event…civil war.
civil war is what the usurper wants so he can pull a Lincoln and suspend the constitution.
its gonna be bloody
i was reading somewhere that over 1.6 million more guns have been sold in the US in the last 15 days, I wonder why?
One could always HOPE that this backfires and puts Bill Ayers in indefinite detention.
Otherwise this is a slippery slope.
“…. so he can pull a Lincoln and suspend the constitution.”
FREE, would you clarify your historical source for this, please. In my understanding, the United States under President Lincoln was the first (and possibly only) democracy to hold a scheduled election in the middle of a Civil War ….. IOW …. US democracy was NOT suspended.

This was a late headline on Drudge:
Obama’s Signing Statement on NDAA: I have the power to detain Americans… but I won’t
http://www.infowars.com/president-obamas-ndaa-signing-statement-i-have-the-power-to-detain-americans-but-i-wont/
Maybe, the current president just wants to catch up to Hugo, seems he is some way behind.
Welcome to the US land of the not so free anymore.
HOPE he doesn’t lock up Glenn Beck.
Citizen or not the US Constitution applies to anyone who is on US soil. The president can’t just override that with the strike of a pen. He should be arrested immediately for treason.
I mentioned this before a few months back that the ‘O’ could suspend the Constitution in times of national emergency. For those interested you could check out, http://www.constitution.org/pub/nam6205a.htm
If the OWS crowd is aggitated enough it could provide the National emergency that would be required. Not hard to do by a group that already sidestepped the Constitution.
Well the way I understand it is that while this bill could be used and probly will be used for good to get rid of terorrist’s or detaine susprected terrorist’s , or the likes of people who would do harm to america or fellow americans.
I also think it will be used to intimidate voters, and yes even detain and re-educate if not eliminate them entirly for disenting against govornment , you se i think this bill can be used for what ever type of tyranny the govornment want’s to inflict and if you dissagree you put a target on your back and will there fore be detained for not agreeing with the govornemnt …..
Hey america welcome to north korea!! enjoy!
America is done …so done and we are next .
guns ,ammo,food rations,farmland,copper ,silver gold,medical suplies and water …check!!!

Not so crazy anymore.
FREE- Can you provide any shred of proof that 1.6 million guns have been purchased by civilians since December 15? Outside of any major military or LEA arms contracts being recently filled, this seems outlandish.
Ryan:
Might be this article:
http://articles.cnn.com/2011-12-27/us/us_record-gun-sales_1_gun-sales-gun-dealers-gun-sports?_s=PM:US
“With a few days left in December, the FBI reports the number of background checks has already topped the previous one-month record — set only in November — of 1,534,414 inquiries by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System also known as NICS. Almost half a million checks were done in just the last six days before Christmas.”
Ryan, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/8987359/Americans-buy-record-numbers-of-guns-for-Christmas.html
and that’s just for the ones that require background checks…and it doesn’t seem to include multiple purchases on the same check…the real Americans see what’s coming and it isn’t going to be pretty…
I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy buff, but I’ve considered before that given the democratic party’s utter ruthlessness in gaining and keeping power, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if ‘bama gets too low in the polls before voting day and conveniently meets with a neat little ‘involuntary withdrawal’ to be blamed immediately on a ‘tea party member’ and used as a histrionic media club to beat people into voting for them…that is if they haven’t signed up enough cemeteries to carry the vote already along with the ‘one man-as many votes as you want as long as they’re for us’ rule…

Does our government have any plans for refugee camps just inside of our borders?
Kiss your Constitution goodbye America. Embrace the loving arms of your Islamist President with his jolly stormtroopers.
The USA is officially now a dictatorship.
Anyone who resists is now an enemy of the State with no due process.
I wonder when the first protesting Republican is forced into jail or exile?
Expect Sharia law to follow.
“Current law empowers the military to detain people caught on the battlefield, but this provision would expand the battlefield to include the United States”
Yup – Battlefield USA – brought to you by Barack Hussein Obamba from his vacation home in Hawaii. Where is that genuine (not Photo-shopped) Birth Certificate again???
I hope y’all have been stack’n up on the gun’s, bullets, bacon and beans, Obamba say’s “you’re gonna need em”!
The Republican house vote was 190 for and 43 against.
Shameful.

Here’s a quote from a 2009 report from York University’s Canada Watch:
“According to the latest public opinion polls, Obama is twice as popular as Stephen Harper in Canada and the numbers are no less extraordinary for Felipe Calderon in Mexico. The widely held perception is that the Canadian and Mexican governments are out of sync with the momentous changes coming from the White House. It was said of Lincoln, in a biography by Doris Kearns Goodwin that his eloquence, “was of a higher type which produced conviction in others because of the conviction of the speaker himself.” Mexicans and Canadians do not have leaders that raise the bar of public life or inspire the ‘hearer’ towards a new kind of politics.”
Today these words must taste like ash.
This has been coming since the PATRIOT ACT.
You mean besides ACTUALLY GOVERN? Or is this just a rhetorical question?
First step to tyranny. Where is the Republican congress? Are there no patriots in Washington? Why are Ron Paul and his son Rand Paul the only Republicans fighting this move? Pray that Ron Paul reaches Americans and gets elected before it is too late for all.
Does anyone here think that the 0 and his Czars are going to ignore the use of this terrible new mandate? 0 is just like Lenin/Stalin/Hitler in his view of humans (hates them!); and people would trust such a man with a wide open mandate to lock up his enemies (Freedom loving citizens)forever without a trial?
Oh America!
Arrogant SOB…just begging for it.
‘enemies of the state’ is a pretty broad term open to interpretation and fluid changes by whoever is in power.
Obamba has made it pretty clear who his friends and enemies are if anyone has paid the slightest bit of attention. Obviously if you are not Obamba’s friend as in CEO of Goldman Sach’s or GE, you are quite possibly an enemy of the state.
Are there any law making and binding examples at all of Obamba’s goodwill towards the American public in the last 3 years?

“This has been coming since the PATRIOT ACT. “
This has been coming since the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act (1999).
The Patriot Act was a symptom further reinforced “On May 26, 2011, when President Barack Obama signed a four-year extension of three key provisions in the USA PATRIOT Act”
The mysterious Chicago hustler of unknown origin or academic record has had his hand in everything from suing City bank for sub-prime loans (1999) in effect helping cause the current economic collapse, to bombing Libya and supporting el Qaeda in North Africa along with the Muslim Brotherhood, to now declaring the USA a battlefield without a Constitution.
Ryan said: “FREE- Can you provide any shred of proof that 1.6 million guns have been purchased by civilians since December 15? Outside of any major military or LEA arms contracts being recently filled, this seems outlandish.”
I direct your attention to this SDA thread http://www.smalldeadanimals.com/archives/018848.html#comments
which links to a very interesting set of graphs, one of which is “11 years of guns and ammo trends”. In 2010 there were 14 million guns sold, based on FBI background check data. In 2011 there were 15 million. That’s well over one million a month.
Note that these numbers do NOT include private sales between individuals, so the actual number of sales is probably a lot higher.
Compare that to the number sold in 2002 after the 9/11 attacks: ~8 million.
By this measure, Americans were less upset about a direct attack on their own soil than they were with Barry’s election. By a factor of two.
To be fair, they started freaking out around the same time the Patriot Act and Homeland Security started hitting their stride in 2006.
Jim Horne posted above about the “FEMA Camp” rumor which simply refuses to die, that’s a very interesting link he’s got there. Worth a look.
Myself, I have no doubt at all that 1.5 million Americans bought guns last month. 9mm and 5.56mm ammo has been in very short supply since mid-2008 despite the ammunition industry massively increasing production and importation both. Americans are freaking out in ways they haven’t since Pearl Harbor. They are p1ssed and they are scared.
And if Barry is fool enough to move on the Tea Party as I said way up above in this thread, he’s going to get his @ss handed to him. If the Tea Party could generate 100,000 people at an event in 2011, they’ll be able to come up with 100,000 -armed- people at an event in 2012.
Just think about what’s going down in Syria and Egypt right now, and imagine those crowds being Americans armed to the friggin’ teeth with AR-15s, shotguns and all the ammo they can carry.
Just remember friends, remember MooMoo Q-Daffy. The totalitarian dictator who strafed his own -un-armed people with jet aircraft, used artillery on them, went after them with the army, the secret police, the whole military Full Monty… and HE’S DEAD.
Any bets on what’ll happen to Barry if people like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, etc. start disappearing?
I take it the Reichstag Fire corresponds to 911, in that we know who did it, and it wasn’t the government?
An inconvenient truth, eh Knight99? And let us not forget, we conservative Tea Party types are NAZIS!!! because we seek to de-fund and dis-empower this runaway government…
…wait a second. Does that seem sensible to you? Wouldn’t Nazis be trying to make government -bigger-?
Oh well, looks like hiccup ran away to mummy like a little beeotch.
Yellow.
Just like Trudeau: only brought in the War Measures Act when the FLQ started targeting bigshots.
‘bama must feel that there’s some kind of a threat to himself and the political elite.

“I take it the Reichstag Fire corresponds to 911, in that we know who did it, and it wasn’t the government?”
I left it in as it stood ebt, because I don’t know what to believe about 911 anymore. I don’t doubt at all that al Qaeda were the physical assassins, but the juries out with me as to how much help they received from other parties if any at all. It certainly smells to high noon, the lack of investigation, the obstruction of investigation, the quick destruction of evidence, and the forthcoming of credible professionals from many fields to debunk the official story leave me with no definitive opinion anymore.
Dave and Phantom- thanks for the info, I found the article and it is an interesting read. I guess I better start stocking up on powder and primers before the next big component shortage.
What is completely left out of this discussion is the willingness of the directed to carry out the work of the Bambam. Had Trudeau tried tried to send in the troops to a peaceful situation he would have been surprised when the Army said “NO”.
If Bambam tries to ‘send in the troops’ against regular Americans he too will likely be told, “NO”.
Michael St. Paul:
FREE never contended that Lincoln suspended “democracy”; he wrote that Lincoln suspended parts of the “Constitution”.
Which he undeniably did – he suspended the writ of habeus corpus TWICE to deal with the so-called “copperheads”. The copperheads (who were in the Northern states and US territories) wanted to avoid a protracted war, wanted a truce with the South, and a new constitutional convention to address slavery. Now, ask yourself, how much different were the copperheads from the people protesting Vietnam, the Cold War, the Iraq/Afghan wars, and the coming Iran war? But Lincoln had absolutely no problem arresting people who discouraged others from enlisting in the Union army, or other “disloyal” acts. When the US Supreme Court demanded the presentation of an arrested secessionist, John Merryman, the military ignored him. Supreme Court Chief Justice Taney then declared the suspension of habeus corpus unconstitutional, because it had not been authorised by an Act of Congress. He was ignored by Lincoln and the military.
So the precedent has been set, and the passage of the NDAA merely overcomes the Supremes objection that there was no act of Congress.
Now couple the NDAA with the much more dangerous SOPA, and ask yourself how will the next revolution be publicized? Tweets and Facebook? Both sites can be shut down in an instant by a complaint that will take months to come to court. Cell phones? Can you spell E-C-H-E-L-O-N? You might want to dust those fax and copy machines off, and remember what samizdat was.
KevinB said: “…ask yourself how will the next revolution be publicized?”
EXCELLENT point sir. I’ve had some discussion of the issue over at my blog, and the consensus seems to be wildcat cell phone nets and packet radio. Seems you can buy satelite-Internet-in-a-box over the counter, and I have some links to guys making them as fun projects. Guys are hacking these things together out of stuff lying around their house just for a giggle. Imagine if you p1ssed them off…
Come to think of it, maybe a few of us should start in downloading these instructables off the web. Handy to have on your hard drive if the Web goes down eh?
IMHO physical access to cell towers and switching stations by a few uncooperative telephone employees would probably be a factor too.
Then there’s hand delivered flash chips and USB sticks. That’s how they do it in Cuba.
I’d say the potential for things to go seriously wrong for any power grabber in the USA is rather extreme. Let us fervently hope even Barry isn’t that flagrantly stupid.
The passage of the patriot act showed the depth of totalitarian impulses among US politicians. The only thing I’m wondering is who Bambam thinks is going to enforce his unconstitutional laws? The US military has little regard for TOTUS and just because they’re willing to follow an order to waste OBL doesn’t automatically mean they’ll start rounding up American citizens and seizing civilian owned firearms.
If we get into a SHTF scenario, I predict that the only government goons TOTUS will have to do his bidding are the powertripping scumbags that infest agencies like BATF, homeland security, DEA, TSA, etc. If it came down to a showdown between these agencies armed goons and the US military, I’d bet on the military every time. The US military has a serious interest in protecting the US constitution.
What is needed now is a resumption in putting together US militias again. This, perfectly legal in the US, organization of patriots peaked when slick willy was trying to get rid of the second amendment and it would be prudent to start up again now. OTOH, there are so many US ex-military personnel throughout the US that likely spontaneous military organizations to oppose any statist moves by TOTUS would spring up very rapidly.
As far as communications go, the only way that the US government could shut down the internet would be to totally cut off electrical power to the US. There are numerous open-source projects which allow one to create mesh networks from PC’s and routers and these could easily allow all of the people in a city to communicate. For longer distances, I’m sure that fiber optic links will “accidentally” be left open by stressed communication company employees and that the word would spread very quickly. Also, one can drive across the US in 2 days if one pushes it which would be the maximum delay a government could impose on news. Any potential dictator of the US will likely have a very short reign before he and his co-conspirators are dangling by the neck from Washington lamp posts.
Loki said: “What is needed now is a resumption in putting together US militias again.”
Bad idea. One does not concentrate one’s men in the face of a superior enemy force. Ad hoc militia units are just targets for ATF. Broncos and Predator drones, remember?
The whole of the population being armed to the teeth and dangerous like a wolverine with a sore tail, that’s the way to go. And that seems to be the way its going.
Tea Party 2012. Don’t tread on ’em.
And my point, Mr. Knight, is that the Reichstag fire definitely wasn’t an act of the Nazi government. We know who did it. It wasn’t them.
So, if you want to nurse delusions about 9/11, find an appropriate equivalent. If there is one. I’m always impressed by people who talk about “false flag attacks” as if they were common as muck. None of these people can actually cite one, and I’m not aware of any such thing ever happening. On the outbreak of WWI, the Germans produced photos of a purported French air raid; on the invasion of Poland, they produced newsreel films of a purported Polish frontier attack; but it was all fake. There were no real attacks, let alone casualties.
I myself think it’s a dangerous mistake to nurse delusions. But don’t take my word for it. Ask my pet talking unicorn.
ebt >
“I myself think it’s a dangerous mistake to nurse delusions’
As do I.
I don’t believe I “nursed” any in my comments to you, in fact I clearly stated that I have no definitive opinion about 911. The fact that I simply don’t take what some foreign government say’s at face value without knowing all the facts does not make me delusional. I have also not made any accusations or pointed any fingers, I wasn’t there and every public official appears to be a liar these days.
As far as the Reichstag fire, I wasn’t there either. I can only assume that 90% of the historical records and the majority of historian’s allegations are valid, nothing more. Could actually care less about it.
No word from me about “false flag” operations what so ever on this thread. Although I think it would be naive to think that they don’t exist. Wasn’t some Jewish girl caught scribbling swastika’s on her university dorm not long ago? It’s not a hard leap to think that governments wouldn’t participate in them as well. That said don’t jump all over me and claim I’m calling 911 a false flag operation again, I’m simply making an innocuous point.
Well, I hope I wasn’t unfair to you, Mr. Knight, but when you stake your flag that far out in crackpot territory, you have to expect some consequences. Post like a crank, be treated like a crank.
The Reichstag fire cliche is one of my pet peeves. It has been conclusively proven for more than 50 years that Hitler did not burn the Reichstag. If your reading tells you he did, there’s something seriously wrong with your reading.
ebt >
Post like a crank?
You need to go back and reread that it was not I but “Hiccup” who posted the 911/ Reichstag comment. My response was to his list by copy and paste, and then added my own comments in brackets. As I clearly said, I did not add to the 911/ Reichstag part of his original post in mine because I had no opinion about it, but left his comments in full to reflect his list properly.
The only “crank” is someone who jumps out of the blue at someone for something they never wrote only quoted. That would be you, yet you still keep perusing, this illogical ad hominem attack.
Not a sane position to be in, I suggest that you go back and reread what transpired on this thread from the beginning before you conclude who seems to have a reading problem.
* for whatever reason Hiccups original list is now gone. Regardless, your issue is with him, address your issues with the correct poster.
