Blacklock’s- 14 Years & Two-Thirds Done

A federal agency created 14 years ago to streamline government IT services says it’s about two-thirds through its assignment. Progress was slow despite 10,000 employees and billions spent last year on contractors, said a Shared Services Canada briefing note.

May Contain Drama

Or, Shakespeare For The Tremulous And Neurotic:

Readers will doubtless recall the Chichester Festival Theatre warning patrons that its production of The Sound of Music, one of the most famous and widely-seen musicals in the world, would contain references to Nazis. Which, for some, would apparently come as a surprise. More recently, the Royal Shakespeare Company felt it necessary to forewarn visitors that its production of Hans Christian Andersen’s dark fairy tale The Red Shoes features both loud music and “haze.” Because in a tale of mind-controlling shoes and amputated feet, the haze is the thing you really want to watch out for.
Also, Shakespeare’s Tempest includes bad weather. And no, I’m not joking.

Rosie To The Woodshed

David Asher of the Hudson Institute spits fentanyl fact at the CBC, and Rosie has nothing.

“Well, several months ago, you had the biggest lab in the history of the world taken over by (RCMP) in Vancouver… It made Breaking Bad look like minor league”

“The most of the drugs are going from Mexico to Canada and then being brought south into the northwest United States on ships. You have almost no port enforcement with police.

“How can we run an undercover police operation with your country? Which is why we don’t run them, which is why the seizure statistics are so low, because we don’t even try to work with Canada because your laws are abbreviated and distorted.”

“We need to focus on their money… And of course, you’ve got a sort of tragic situation where TD bank was laundering billions of dollars for Mexican cartels, and now it’s being hit with one of the largest fines literally, in the history of laundering.

A Prediction

Earlier today, I was messaging back and forth with a longtime friend who grew up in Vancouver, but now lives on Vancouver Island. I’ve always thought of her as conservative and suspect she likely voted for the Conservatives and/or Reform federally. She is very financially astute. So it was rather surprising to see a whole lot of anti-Trump hatred coming from her today. She is clearly consuming the propaganda espoused by the Canadian media and her neighbours.

A conspiracy theory came to me the other day, suggesting that this is all being carefully coordinated by Trudeau & Carney and the propagandists of the Liberal Party. Spread throughout the bought-and-paid -for media, it results in a 15 year old girl being booed at an NBA game in Toronto, the entire #TeamCanada schtick, and a whole lot of other “Us Good, Innocent Canadians vs. Big, Bad Trump” narratives.

My friend was curious if the happenings in DC were being discussed by Americans. “Absolutely!”, I responded. In fact, even some of my Democrat friends are actually very supportive of what is happening with DOGE.  This is not what she wanted to hear. I asked her if she wanted me to share some links about the billions of dollars allegedly stolen via USAID. Nope, no interest. She doesn’t want her TDS levels to be lessened by event 0.1%.

Here’s the prediction I shared with her, and will now share with all of you: Later this year, under the leadership of either Trudeau or WEF Carney, the Liberals will coast to a majority government. I say this, betting that a plurality of Canadians are more interested in “standing up against” and “punishing” Trump than they are in their own economic interest or viability of a future cohesive country. It truly saddens me to even suggest such a thing, but I deeply fear this is what is going to happen.

“What a nice picture this is”

The Sunday Times- Sports edict makes Trump a feminist hero

Trump was not just a misogynist, campaigners said, but would dismantle abortion rights by packing the Supreme Court with conservative judges. And lo, in 2022, with the overturning of Roe v Wade, it came to pass.

Yet here was Trump applauded by women, and not just Republicans but lifelong Democrats or previously apolitical sports stars like Riley Gaines, who turned campaigner after being forced to race 6ft 1in trans swimmer Lia Thomas. At the White House, Trump recalled watching that race: “It was ridiculous, frankly.”
