A Prediction

Earlier today, I was messaging back and forth with a longtime friend who grew up in Vancouver, but now lives on Vancouver Island. I’ve always thought of her as conservative and suspect she likely voted for the Conservatives and/or Reform federally. She is very financially astute. So it was rather surprising to see a whole lot of anti-Trump hatred coming from her today. She is clearly consuming the propaganda espoused by the Canadian media and her neighbours.

A conspiracy theory came to me the other day, suggesting that this is all being carefully coordinated by Trudeau & Carney and the propagandists of the Liberal Party. Spread throughout the bought-and-paid -for media, it results in a 15 year old girl being booed at an NBA game in Toronto, the entire #TeamCanada schtick, and a whole lot of other “Us Good, Innocent Canadians vs. Big, Bad Trump” narratives.

My friend was curious if the happenings in DC were being discussed by Americans. “Absolutely!”, I responded. In fact, even some of my Democrat friends are actually very supportive of what is happening with DOGE.  This is not what she wanted to hear. I asked her if she wanted me to share some links about the billions of dollars allegedly stolen via USAID. Nope, no interest. She doesn’t want her TDS levels to be lessened by event 0.1%.

Here’s the prediction I shared with her, and will now share with all of you: Later this year, under the leadership of either Trudeau or WEF Carney, the Liberals will coast to a majority government. I say this, betting that a plurality of Canadians are more interested in “standing up against” and “punishing” Trump than they are in their own economic interest or viability of a future cohesive country. It truly saddens me to even suggest such a thing, but I deeply fear this is what is going to happen.

  1. Robert …I think you are absolutely right , as much as it pains me to hear . Trudope described Canada as some sort of post national state , what ever that means . The globalists could not destroy the USof A but will most certainly destroy Canada.

    1. I soooooooo hope I’m wrong! My prediction is not just based on one person but a whole lot of them.

      1. You’re not wrong. I have come to the same conclusion. I blame it on the coddling of Canadians all of these years and no true free media. It’s going to be horrible after that and no true Conservative Party or government will ever rise again. Harper had a chance to close the CBC and transform the country but he was too cowardly in the end. It’s over.

      2. Your fears are justified. I’ve been saying ever since the Turd’s “resignation” that this is bad news for the cons.
MY hope is that if this does result in another win for the LIEbs, that would inspire us in the west to finally come out and say enough is enough, and start proceedings to get the west out of this arrangement that’s been robbing us blind since the Turd 1.0, and handing over pretty much all of our proceeds to Quebec, who then turns around and stifles our ability to earn the revenue that Quebec so badly wants from us.
        This can’t go on!

      3. What you’re experiencing, Robert, is called Operation Demoralise. You feel you can’t get through; you can’t win – because they keep telling you you can’t. They’re lying. Do not fall for it, do not sustain it.

Always keep in mind that Trumpian combination of righteous anger and good humour. Fight! Fight! Fight! but with a silly dad dance. Don’t confuse parties with voters. Always be the grown up in the room. Make competent government seem the inevitable choice. Stay positive. Never give up.

        1. PJF, damn good and much needed pep talk.
I DO grok Robert’s despair but let’s remember that after 9 years of calumny and persecution, Trump won and won bigly on the pop. vote anyway.

Haven’t read all the comments but this usually glass-half-empty man is fed up with this defeatism and with no one more than the otherwise estimable Jamie MacMaster who mercilessly mocks Poilievre and who simply doesn’t understand realpolitic.

  2. Sadly that is what I am thinking.
The Turd still ha$ the media by the ball$.
They are fertilising the TDS and distracting the sheep.

    1. I’m not in the prediction but the media is basically dead. It’s so dead that it’s death is not even news
The prediction seems a little pessimistic

      1. Needless Misery ……..
I imagine was always viewed as pessimistic down through the ages , and as time went on people lost the will to fight against it, because they weren’t courageous enough on an individual level to just say no.
History is something grand to live through, don’t ya think?

  3. Don’t be a lunatic. The Conservatives may be down a bit from historically high polling, but they are still waaay ahead of the Liberals. There’s a lot of us who despise the Liberals and will never, ever vote for them again. The Liberals will not win. They will be trounced.

  4. They’ve been told to hate. They’ve been taught that their hate is righteous, that it is a virtue.

It doesn’t matter what good Trump does, they cannot see past the propaganda.

      1. Because, as I keep saying, Canuckistans are intellectually lazy, and politically ignorant, and they like themselves that way. As long as the freebies from the fed continue, they’re not interested in seeing what’s beyond their noses in front of their faces.
        Totally myopic.

  5. I remember being upset that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump (81 million votes for the corpse, yah right). In hindsight, what a blessing. God’s ways are not our ways. Trump is on fire this time around.
So, if Canada needs another 4 years of a LIberal hell, so be it. It may give the push to either Alberta succession (1st choice) or Quebec’s (that ain’t bad either) or surrender to USA (better than to the ChiCom’s, and wouldn’t that 1st and 2nd amendment feel great!).

    1. I didn’t want to mention it in my original post, but if my prediction proves true, then I have a follow-up prediction about Alberta & Saskatchewan in the West and Quebec in the East.

      1. I dropped my uninformed opinion way down at the bottom of this thread but I would really like to hear your prediction for Alberta & Saskatchewan. I don’t care about Quebec but let’s hear it anyway.

        Gracias!!!

        1. Both have voted NDP in their respective provinces and have imported far too many left wing idiots to ever get a vote to secede. Too many want to be at the government trough.

      1. Canadian egregore is Climatose.
Alertgore had his revenge on America for them electing W.
Big Al won a Nobel Peace prize for producing a doomsday movie.

  6. Yes, the way things are going, it’s quite probable. If this would be a bet, I wouldn’t bet against.
We do have as a group, the focus of a squirell. Plus, we were groomed for decades by media and elites to ‘think’ their way. Heck, a complete moron and scumbag has been elected PM 3 times in a row. Of course it can happen a 4th time.

  7. I think it’s a very high probability your prediction will come true Robert.
What does a pickpocket do? Make you look the other way.
Promoting anti American (Trump) sentiment isn’t in our long term interests.
Our governments denying reality and refusing to get our financial house in order as Trump appears to be attempting to do means our dollar will free fall to devastating levels and Kanadians will have much bigger challenges to face as a result. This will NOT be Trumps fault.

  8. Shrug. If it does happen, it will be because the Conservatives, once again, are completely indistinguishable from the Liberals.

    1. NOT TRUE!!
PP has been quite adamant about axing the carbon tax (not replacing with a higher invisible one by Mark Carnage); and adamant about liberating resource development. Supports pipelines. Etc.
I will concede that he will not bring in a Milt Friedman style govt as that is literally impossible — everywhere. Politics is the art of the possible, a truism you don’t seem to grasp.

  9. I agree with Trump on many of his actions, but you are not a victim of propaganda for hating Trump for threatening to impose economy-destroying tariffs and annexing Canada. This guy’s threatening to gut our country.

      1. It is actually possible to dislike what both the Liberals and Trump are trying to do to this country.

        1. It would be, if we actually had a country.

I will posit that Trump is actually trying to save Canuckistan from itself!

          1. It’s actually a pretty good country.

And it’s not Trump’s job to save Canada from itself. The U.S. has enough problems on its own.

        2. You have not met Donald Trump. I doubt you have met any President of the USA. Your opinions are not based on your experience since you have had none. What you are parroting is something you heard or read from someone who has not met him either. I have had the privilege of spending an afternoon with him. He’s blunt but truthful. Massive ego. A lot bigger than I thought. He is very street smart and not an Elon Musc. He will be great for his country. Given the chance, I think he would be good for Canada. With the exception of Pierre P, there is not a single politician I would trust. It is time for a reality check, would those of us living in western Canada be better off with the liberal status Quo or look to our betters south to partner up with.

          1. No one asked Trump to be good for Canada. It isn’t his country. He has enough problems at home.

          2. KM: Indeed he has, but unlike our feckless leader, Trump is actually doing something about his problems at home.

    1. You’re using “our” incorrectly. Even pretending you have a Canadian passport, you and I have nothing on common, and maybe share a geographic region, but not a country. You need to stop talking like you speak for other people.

      1. 1. Born in Vancouver, raised in Vernon, worked in Calgary. As Canadian as it comes.
        2. I’ll use “our” any damn way I please. If you don’t love this country, you’re free to excuse yourself.

        1. “2. I’ll use “our” any damn way I please. If you don’t love this country, you’re free to excuse yourself.”

Says the guy who keeps urging us to commit economic suicide.

    2. So, if all it takes to destroy Canada is the SUGGESTION of tariffs from the US, what kind of a country is this? This problem started decades ago. It just took Trump to wake up America’s lazy, deadbeat neighbour to the north and finally get our attention. Like a 30yr old kid that lives in his parents basement, it’s finally time for some tough love. For 80 years we have risen and slept under the blanket of the very protection provided by the US and then when, AGAIN, they ask Canada to pull some of the weight, Canadians get bent outta shape to the point of “booing” the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Canada has only two choices; we can either get on the “Trump train” or get run over by it.

      1. The suggestion of tariffs won’t destroy this country. But an actual 25% cross-the-board tariff might. Canada is not a perfect country, but it doesn’t deserve this horsehit.

This good news is that Trump is a lot more vulnerable than people think he is. Notice he delayed the tariffs at the last moment? That’s because he knows that a trade war would result in hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of lost American jobs, and might even induce a recession. Trump claims that America will be far more prosperous under his leadership. That conceit would evaporate like morning dew if he went ahead with the tariffs, and a lot of former Trump supporters would be pissed when they get their layoff notices.

And this vulnerability is a good thing, as it’s damn near impossible to figure out what Trump really wants from Canada. The deal he accepted had been on the table for weeks.

        1. No, I’m not buying that argument. Trump admitted that tariffs would hurt the US, but he also promised that the pain would be short-lived, and that America would benefit from the results long term.

…and I believe him. When it counts, Trump delivers on his promises. Don’t underestimate him, or his resolve.

          1. I actually support many of Trump’s initiatives, but this adulation leaves me bewildered. He’s not Rambo. This isn’t a movie.

        2. “This good news is that Trump is a lot more vulnerable than people think he is.”

          In your dreams.

“Notice he delayed the tariffs at the last moment? That’s because he knows that a trade war would result in hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of lost American jobs, and might even induce a recession. ”

You just keep telling yourself that, if it makes you feel better,

      2. When faced with a difficult choice with life-altering consequences think long and hard, then choose what you can do without. Sounds easier than it is…

    3. I have never seen a positive Trump story in the Canadian media. I have not even seen a balanced story. If Robert’s prediction comes true, I think Canadians are in for A very rough time as things are cleaned up in the US and we encounter increasing levels of tyranny.

      1. Absolutely right, LL…
After Trump gets done cleaning up the US, and implementing his policies, Trump won’t need to tariff Canada to encourage companies to invest capital in the US, while Canuckistan languishes in it’s own economic mess that it made for itself.
The result is that capital will flow south. Don’t take my word for it. Just look at the numbers. It’s happening right now! Japan declared that they will invest one TRILLION dollars into the US economy.
The US will become richer, and Canuckistan will become a third-world, communist bananada republic. Trump won’t need to impose tariffs to make that a reality.

  10. Mindblowing does not adequately encompass the stupidity of the average Canadian. Our politicians can blovate and posture about how we will stand-up to the bully Trump and never think that if push really came to shove America could attach Canada as the 51st state without breaking a sweat. The best part of that statement is the number of Canadians that believe the liars and thieves that have issued the ‘Team Canada’ stand united challenge, are the very first Canadians that will bend the knee to American Imperialism. As I’ve stated here before Canada is nothing more than a vassal state and has been for its whole history, anyone that can’t see this is as stated above, mindblowingly stupid. To watch your standard of living degenerate as it has over the last ten years under the Trudeau/Singh regime and think that there is a politician in Canada that can resurrect the country that we were in 1945 is beyond mindblowingly stupid.

  11. Sadly, I concur. Carney has frequently been using words like “crisis” and “emergency” when talking about trade and Trump. This sets the stage for the Liberals/NDP to delay the election until September 2026. Singh has already been making noises that he may not vote against the Liberals in a confidence vote. Translation: the Maserati Marxist party has already been bought out by the Carney campaign.
With a year and a half to stir up up anti-Trump hatred disguised as Canadian nationalism and make some gestures like pipelines to gain access to world markets (cough, cough China) and gain time to advance more inane green projects. The economic fallouts will be blamed on Orange Man Bad. Anyone who disagrees will quickly run against censorship laws and powers the government has already given itself to confiscate financial accounts at will. We will become a de facto province of. China.
At that point joining the USA (assuming we are given the choice at all) would be preferable.

    1. We will never be given the choice. When Newfoundland elected to join Canada, their only choice was to join Canada or remain a colony. The choice to join The USA was denied them. After all the investment and opportunities created in Newfoundland during WWII by the USA, a very strong number if not a majority would have chosen to join the USA had they been given the choice. But TPTB didn’t risk that.

  12. It’s difficult to say at this point. Early days as they say. Canada may be in the grip of another mass formation in which the populace goes along with blatantly suicidal policies.

  13. As I said in a comment last week this looks like Trump et al gifting a winning issue to Trudeau/carney knowing they will screw over Alberta and Saskatchewan – hello 51st state and the end of Canada.

  14. Could be.
Eastern Canada sure is acting as if they are gonna fall for it.
Did I mention that Public Education has been a smashing success in Can Ahh Duh.?
However such a scenario is wonderful for Western Canada.
As we have fewer and fewer viable choices every year.
Separate or continue to be raped and pillaged.
And endlessly lectured by done nothing, know nothing thieves.
However the opportunities for President Trump to troll Canada are only just beginning.
    My prediction.
    Trudeau will do nothing.
    Except yap.
Trump,in 20 days, will slap the threat of tariffs back on,promising even high rates..Unless he sees actions from Can Ahh Duh..for the promises by this Liberal Government ain’t worth spit.

And then, when Canadian shrieking and virtue signalling reaches its crescendo,Trump will reach out to Alberta and Saskatchewan with a very generous and very public offer..
All America has to offer,is a better deal than Ottawa currently demonstrates.
And the Liberal/Blind Patriot/Retard meltdowns will be glorious.
It does not even have to be a serious offer, nor does the citizens of these provinces even have to accept..
The roiling of Confederation will still be epic.
As a Westerner I have nothing in common with eastern Canadians,we have come to this state because of stupid voters.
We are no longer a viable country.
And I doubt any new government can overcome the damage, distrust and alienation that our Uni-Party has created.

A partnership this betrayed does not get reestablished with hollow promises and empty boasting.

  15. The biggest difference between Canadians and Americans is that Canadians would rather pull someone else down than lift themselves up. It’s most obvious in the GTA but it generalizes across the country. It’s why haven and never will have anything nice.

And since 2020 I pretty much don’t give a toff what misery come to Canadians. I’m out for me and mine after all that BS and I hope Trump harvests lots of liberal tears because I’d love to do that myself.

Don’t forget, 1/3 of Canadians support the Liberals, 1/3 support the NDP, and more than half of conservatives are cucks or moderates so “normal” people are a minority.

And if libtards hate normal people so much, why try to unify the country, just draw a line somewhere and have goodies and baddies on each side and be happier with your super majority sodomy oteiented society?

    1. “The biggest difference between Canadians and Americans is that Canadians would rather pull someone else down than lift themselves up.” – Interesting that you bring this up.

Years ago, I worked in Mexico City. Very early on, I was told by some Mexican friends, over some cervezas, the Mexican Crab Story. I actually found it here:
      https://cameronfreeman.com/personal/confessions-cult-leader-lifestream-seminar-experience/mexican-crabs-story-jim-quinn-founder-lifestream-basic-seminar

My Mexican friends related this story to me, explaining why Mexicans often never got ahead, whereas Americans often prospered.

For the life of me, I never associated Canadians with this “pull the other guy down” mentality, but now a whole lot of our fellow citizens are demonstrating it big time. So sad.

      1. Robert, it is so true. Canadians don’t like failure, but if there is one thing they cannot stand it is success. It comes from the Scottish “beggar thy neighbour” philosophy, that is why they are such a wretched and miserable lot, and I’m half Scottish. Thankfully, my other half is American, for lack of a better term, and I don’t subscribe.

  16. The country will disintegrate if the Liberals are re-elected….especially is the fascist Carney is the leader.

  17. For what it’s worth, I believe that Trudeau and the Liberal regime are done and voters will overwhelmingly vote against the big red machine in the next election. That said, I’m not sure that Poilliviere will win either. Perhaps there’s a dark horse who hasn’t emerged yet who will come to clean up our pathetic parliament.

  18. Drives me insane. We’ve been told by our PM for years, since before he was elected, that “Canada is not a real country,” “Canada is a post-national state,” that we have “no core identity,” we have torn down our own history, we’re taken so seriously by other countries that governments are telling their citizens not to worry about coming back after their visa expires because Canada is not a real country and has no authority because it’s built on stolen land. Hundreds of billions of projects have been cancelled (my favourite example being Teck), we have provinces actively blocking other provinces from trying to sell products within the country or get them out of the country, we have supply chain cartels blocking other producers within the country from making anything, miles of government interference which is only getting worse and making it harder to even make a living at a day job. Forget the million or so square KM’s of area and 243.000 kms of coastline, the CF couldn’t hold a single garrison for five minutes if everything we had was in one base, We have all of this, and NOW they want to come up with all of this rah-rah Team Canada bullshit? Eff off, go eff yourselves and the moose you rode in on.

And yet, the Liberals are TOTALLY going to ride our national inferiority complex to probably the largest majority since Mulroney in 1984. This place is f^cked and completely deserves to be.

  19. On the other hand dislike of Trump does not necessarily mean a Canadian will vote Liberal. We’ll find out soon enough

  20. The way the WEF punks have been dragging things out seems to me like their trying to reach the 2030 technocracy smackdown goal line at all costs.

  21. Trudeau had no cause other than throwing money at NDP free stuff causes and climate hysteria. He now has one that PP likely can’t effectively deal with. Trump’s bombast, trade trash talk, and disrespect for a friendly neighbor may play well in the US heartland and with fawning uncritical SDA commenters but for the vast majority of Canadians already against him and in the mindless, mushy, media-fed, middle that determine political outcomes, he’s got them riled. The post national Spawn has wrapped himself in his nationalistic flag of convenience as he hands off his leadership to a bigger ass hole. The only way that PP can play this, given he isn’t a player in the game as opposition leader, is with the same flag as the mindless middle doesn’t give a shit about the nuances of the good work Trump is doing for the US in areas other than trade.

My prediction is that we get an early election so Mark Carnage can capitalize on the moment, fearing that things could settle down by October after Trump has played out his games and the bureaucrats have negotiated deals.

  22. Kate’s right. Trump’s insulting comments do not help the situation, though he is on point complaing about our organized crime and weak security. The media barons are whipping up anti-American hatred, in order to secure a Carney-Liberal majority. The fix is in.

  23. Liberal majority.
    It’s a given.
Canadians are the Newfies of the world.
    Canadians will pay.
    Who cares.
    I DGAF.

  24. I’ve been saying this for a year and half on X. The Liberals wanted to run against Trump and Alberta. Ditch the irredeemably unpopular Trudeau and dump the carbon tax. What does Pierre have left?

The CPC has avoided putting forward any positions which might win them votes, any positions at all really. Pierre is all for tit for tat tariffs.

The Conservatives may pull defeat from the jaws of victory a third time. Doesn’t bother me, I’m voting for Max and you all should too.

    1. I will be voting for Max as well, but only because I know I’m living in a safe Con riding. If I had doubt who would be elected in this riding, I would be voting for PP.

    2. “The Conservatives may pull defeat from the jaws of victory a third time. Doesn’t bother me, I’m voting for Max and you all should too.”

Absolutely, Jay. There is no such thing as a wasted vote.

  25. Trump is going to get what he wants without firing a bullet.
We have the usual suspects waving the flag and declaring that Canada is not for sale.
    Really?
If the US wanted to, how much would they have to spend to buy up all our debts?
    We were sold long ago.
It’s just a matter of having Ottawa forced into receivership and then forced to hand over some crown assets to cover the loan.
Trump doesn’t need the whole country to break up Canada, he just needs the part he wants.
That would be the part that connects to Alaska.

    1. Someone suggested that all Trump has to do to annex Canada is to buy Canada’s debt, and demand payment.
Don’t know if it’s feasible or not, but somebody should at least give it a look-see.

      1. The Yanks are hopelessly in debt. They’re not buying anything. Trump needs money, fast. Why do you think he’s imposing tariffs?

A lot of things will change a month from now when the US hits the debt ceiling. Trump is going to need some Dem votes…

  26. As I mentioned above, currency exchange rates are everything. If US debt goes down and Kanadas goes up Kanada is toast.
If liberals and Trump haters really wanted to protect Kanada they would be scrambling to implement an agenda of getting spending and taxes down. But no, that would take some rational thinking.

  27. I struggle to think that Ont, QC and Atlantic Canada could even consider voting liberal after the colossal failures of the federal government over the past 9 years. But if they are actually that stupid, they deserve what’s coming at them.

I fervently believe that if the liberals are elected, AGAIN, western secession will happen within three years. I am of the absolutely uninformed opinion that the US government will make an incredible offer to the provinces that border Montana and North Dakota. When push comes to shove and the writing is on the wall, I hope the people of Alberta and Saskatchewan make the right decision to leave the liberals behind for good.

  28. Canada is clearly a security threat to the US. This is a vassal state of China, our security services are incompetent/compromised, as is the government.
The US won’t stand for this situation much longer, it’s about security, the North, and yes, RESOURCES.
My prediction, if ConCarney gets elected, the US moves in shortly thereafter.
Under the USMCA agreement, the US can investigate and prosecute corrupt officials.
They are coming, get ready. The US military could accomplish Canada in less than a week. Yeah, mit would be THAT easy.
    https://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/files/agreements/FTA/USMCA/Text/27_Anticorruption.pdf

  29. Trump has really touched a nerve in the Liars Club of Ottawa.
He is suggesting that Canada is so poorly run, that we need adults to take the country over.
And sadly ,President Trump is right.

    We are broke.
    We are divided against ourselves.
We have built nothing for decades.
    We are defenceless.
And we are heading for complete collapse.
When accelerating down the road to Venezuela and Zimbabwe, why do these fools insist that we will arrive at a completely different destination?
If we re elect the Liberal/NDP crowd,we will see that 40 cent Canadian dollar.
    As we fall toward zero.
“But we have FREE Healthcare” they chant,as they line up at Emerg for days.

Trump has told Canadians that The Emperor has no clothes.
Canadians are insisting that Dear Leader wears the most excellent of fabrics, any one who can’t see the glorious weave and fabulous colours is “Obviously unfit to hold public office”.
All the “Right People” have their noses bent out of shape, because the obvious has been stated.

How dare Orange Man say we are Broke,Spending way beyond our income and naked of all the tools a nation requires to exist?

    Corrupt and Stupid.
    Can Ahh Duh.

I too would be driven to take precautionary measures if my neighbours acted like Ottawa.
    The State of Thuggery.
Where the citizen has no rights, nor any freedom…Should our government be in a state of panic..
    Emergency..
Government is always in a state of panic, for these are the helpless and clueless banded together in “Good Union” structures where they can safely inflict their arrogance and incompetence upon those who can not avoid them.
To top it all off, get a map..Without the cooperation of the USA,how would you travel East to West ?
    One road.One rail.
Check out the French River…Nice Bridge eh?

    1. Nothing is free in Canada except stupidity, our fellow Canadians will gladly show and give you plenty of that for free, except even that is not free, just look at the carbon tax. It shows a level of stupid beyond belief. That such a fraud was so easily passed should make Canadians sick to their stomachs.

  30. We haver an eastern Cabal who don’t give a shoot about us, we do not exist in western Canada..
The Trudeau gov’t is conquer and divide.. they will nationalize our natural resources, the sad part is that oil and gas guys in Aberta the Juniors are selling out to american companies, with are loonies so low we can no longer compete.. Trump needs a safe forward border they
between the Carrtals shipping mass amount of drugs through the native reseveres of both borders
The Cartals are running the reserves as I am Canadian. I am old never I would a see the amount off coruption
    IN our live

  31. On the other hand, perhaps Pres. Trump will gut the WEF and globalism as a viable force (sooner than later), leaving Canada (the Liberals) with fewer options?
