An enraged mob in the northern Dene community of La Loche, Sasktatchewan threw bottles at RCMP officers and stormed a local hospital after officers violated the constitutional right to flee on one’s ATV when approached by police.
As this video of a separate incident in 2009 graphically illustrates, it’s not the first time that La Loche RCMP have violated this fundamental right.

Meet the Modern Face of Leftist Thugocracy
Looks like Van Jones is going on the “offensive” to take what he wants from the productive class in America. Are you a small business owner who has worked long, hard hours to achieve what you’ve earned? That’s not important. At least not to Radical Marxists like Jones and his comrades. Class warfare & racial warfare, that’s where it’s at in the 2012 election campaign. Jones is coming and he’s coming for your money!

The Canadian Flag Controversy: How Dare Those Conservatives!

Ever been told you can’t fly a Canadian flag? Some Canadians have. The Conservatives think that’s wrong and are trying to introduce a law to prevent such anti-patriotism. Believe it or not, assorted members of the Liberals and NDP are siding with those who would stomp down on those Canadians who wish to display their nation’s flag. Kelly McParland explains all and then talks with Charles Adler about it.
Vancouver’s Public Policies: An Absolute Disgrace!
Much about my hometown of Vancouver I love. But there’s also a whole lot to be embarrassed about. Vancouver Courier columnist, Mark Hasiuk, succinctly outlines some of the most egregious recent examples, including giving out crack pipes to children.
Update: The parasites have won a victory. They must be so incredibly proud of themselves to be instrumental in continuing the destruction & exploitation of the lives of the downtrodden. — h/t TJ & The Phantom
The Decline And Fall Of The American Empire
Simple math, as the president would say, gives us a grand total of $1.074 billion spent to create, according to the DOE, just 45 permanent jobs. That’s about $24 million spent for every permanent job created.
Fast And Furious
Just gets furiouser and furiouser….
Why a gunrunning scandal codenamed “Fast and Furious,” a program run secretly by the U.S. government that sent thousands of firearms over an international border and directly into the hands of criminals, hasn’t been pursued by an army of reporters all trying to be the next Bob Woodward or Carl Bernstein is a story in itself.
But the state of modern journalism aside, this scandal is so inflammatory few realize that official records show the current director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), B. Todd Jones — yes the individual the Obama administration brought in to replace ATF Director Kenneth Melson Aug. 30 in an effort to deflect congressional criticism — also has questions to answer about his involvement in this gunrunning scandal.

Speaking to an all black audience, Obama’s Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett explains the role of government:
“We have to give people a livelihood so they can provide for their families…we are working hard to lift people out of poverty and give them a better life, a footing, and that’s what government is supposed to do.”

The End of the World is Nigh
I never believed any of the doomsayers predicting the end of the world in 2012. Until today. The disease of political correctness has infested itself in Brazil of all places! Authorities there are describing a new series of lingerie ads by supermodel Gisele Bündchen as “sexist” and “stereotyped”, threatening to remove them from TV. Huh?!?
Since facts are critically important before passing judgement, you need to do some research. And some more research. And even some more!
Related: Political correctness is alive and well here in Canada. The Calgary Herald’s Licia Corbella, whose writing I often admire, clearly is being very sexist to the members of the Lingerie Football League. I would have never dreamed that a Canadian female journalist would be in favour of holding back the athletic ambitions of young women. I think I ought to lodge a complaint! 🙂

128 KPH!
In not-Tony Blair’s Britain:
Speed limit on motorways to rise to 80mph
On the 401 in Ontario–limit 100 KPH–120 is a normal speed that will rarely get you busted, even a bit higher. But anything over 100 on an 80-limit two-lane highway and you’re fair game.
Those Wacky Education Profs, or…
…why Dick and Jane aren’t numerate. Margaret “Privileged” Wente:
Too many teachers can’t do math, let alone teach it
…
Unfortunately, the people who educate the educators sound like the wacky wing of the NDP. Here’s Fern Snart, the dean of education at the University of Alberta: “To educate students beyond the superficial,” she writes, “we must engage them in transformational processes and deep thinking such that they understand the Western position of privilege that is often reflected in issues of diversity, power, and justice, and that they move to an internalization of responsibility related to this privilege.”
No wonder little Emma doesn’t know her times tables. She’s way too busy learning how her Western position of privilege entrenches gender relations. Or something like that…

Another one for the “Oh c’mon, it’s not real money, it’s the taxpayers’s money” files:
The Energy Department on Wednesday approved federal loan guarantees for two green energy projects totalling more than $1 billion. It approved $337 million for a Mesquite Solar project in Arizona and $737 million for a Solar Reserve project in Nevada. The projects would create a total of 52-55 permanent jobs, according to earlier DOE figures and company statements. That’s about $20 million per permanent job.

The late Jimmy Johnstone was a star football player for Glasgow-based Celtic F.C. during the 1960s and early 70s. Standing just 5’4″ tall and weighing barely 130 pounds, “Wee Jinky” – who was recently voted by the club’s famously diehard fans as the greatest Celtic player of all time – was famous for his toughness and for the jaw-dropping dribbling skills that enabled him to maintain ball possession in hostile packs of opposing players. Turns out he could sing pretty good, too: in tonight’s tippity amusement, recorded in 1969 as the b-side to a song called “Celtic We Are”, the wee scamp who the French dubbed “The Flying Flea” delivers a heartfelt rendition of a ballad called Passing Time.
