Even though there’s a severe language warning, I highly recommend you listen to this clip from a recent Adam Carolla podcast. He talks about a fundamental change in American society: Envy. This, of course, has been deliberately hyper-inflated by Barack Obama and his comrades but, as Carolla explains, is the byproduct of at least 20 years of the “Participation Trophy” mentality. Another interesting insight he provides is how Envy has become the fundamental commonality connecting Radical Leftism with Radical Islamism.

Another rant by Carolla, from nearly 2 years ago
Note: In 2012, carefully watch how Democrat apparatchiks and their sycophants in the MSM keep playing the Envy card over & over & over again. Of course, they’ll spin it as “social justice” and “economic equality” but it’s really Envy that they’re desperately trying to stir up in voters. Hopefully a majority of these voters will pay attention to Eric Duhaime’s 5th Life Lesson.

Gene Simmons:
“People say things like: “Oh, you make so much money. What do you need any more for?”
Well, actually, b*tch, I never asked for your opinion. I’ll let you know when I have enough money.”

He’s better than just about every GOP nom candidate. Too bad those idiots would never vote for an atheist.
Envy is the absolute number one operating procedure of the socialists/fascists.
It works really well on those uninformed of the working people and works wonders on the freeloaders.
Those don’t know much of anything that goes on in the world around them and see snippets of it on the local socialist/fascist dominated mass media that paint it as though those that make money are getting a free ride and those that live off those who make money are hard done by.
For the record, I actually dramatically cut down on my posts about OWS. But Adam Carolla’s rant and Eric Duhaime’s column clearly move the discussion into a new realm, namely: Is Envy going and Entitlement going to be the order of the day in America (and Canada)? Or is it long overdue to make advocates of these two E’s feel more than a little shame?
It’s clear that Leftists don’t like being called out on their own B.S. That’s what makes Carolla’s rant even more delightful!
Robert…please don’t explain, apologise or defend your decisions. We are all adults ( I hope) coming to this great blog. You don’t owe us anything. If blooorp doesn’t want to read your choice of topic, he (she) can ignore it.
Do we really need that explained bloorp?
Funny, this isn’t really about the OWS. Its about the TEACHER’S UNIONS and the utter bollocks they have made of the public education system.
Who came up with this “self esteem” curriculum anyway? Lefty teachers who realized its easier to get kids to feel good about themselves than it is to teach them math.
But anyway, Adam Carolla is The Man for this one, and he’s got a fine command of swearing too.
Special Snowflake, meet the Blowtorch of Reality.
I agree with phantom – the basis of the feelings of envy and entitlement is that insidious constant emphasis on ‘self-esteem’.
Kids are taught that they are supposed to feel, constantly, that it’s their ‘right’ to do such and such, their right to have this and that…that all that is necessary is to ‘feel good about oneself’ and that ‘self-esteem’ is more valuable than knowledge.
Knowledge? Heck, who needs that; it’s just ‘stuff’, it’s just information. Feelings are what matters. So, teachers not merely in pre-college but in university, don’t ask for information and data but for ‘what’s your opinion about this’?
Therefore we get a generation who are focused on themselves and their entitlements rather than on service and consideration for others. Just take a look at the destruction, in every single case, by the OWS gangs – of the parks, of the plazas, of wherever they parked themselves.
No need to defend your posts, Robert. The Occupy movement is one of the most significant events in years, not because of the size of the protests – they’re tiny, in real terms – or because their ideas are so powerful, but because of the unprecedented and disturbing level of support for these idiots that’s coming from those in a position of authority and influence. The fact that “progressive” politicians, including the POTUS, as well as many middle-American, mainstream media outlets, have been smugly and almost pruriently appropriating the Occupy’s threat of violence, and supporting such radical and incoherent idiots, is unprecedented in the west, and frankly doesn’t bode well for the future if the cultural/political tide isn’t somehow turned.
The OWS movement is being used by the ruling-class left to ignite a long-simmering (40+ years) cultural war, in the most nasty and ominous sense of the term. The war isn’t between the protesters and everyone else, but between the soft-headed, ruling-class idiots who’ve caught the hippie hangover via a sort of osmosis and the common sense people on whose sanity and steadfastness the west will either float or sink.
Carolla’s rant (I’m thinking of the one Kate posted) is actually important, strange though that may sound, because the soft-headed middle – the people who support the Occupy movement by default as a result of having almost unconsciously absorbed folk-Marxist ideas over the last forty or so years – needs to be b***h-slapped back to the reality of what’s really going on, in real-world, quotidian, psychological terms, with these “Gimme” zombies.
A particular ruling/media class subset of the progressives are *using* the energy of destructive idiots to promote their own incredibly destructive agenda, so it’s hugely important that the Occupiers – the actual people at the protests, and their worldviews – be viciously mocked, and that they be called out for being exactly what they are. Carolla has done that more brilliantly than anyone else, IMO, because he’s done so without restraint, and in the, erm, vernacular.
Sigh.
I posted this rant on my blog on November 22.
Just sayin
Just a thought, I was taught in my formative years about some guy in the middle east about a four millinea ago that after spending a few nights on a mountain came down with ten rules for life scrawled on a couple of stone tablets.
Number ten was the one that addressed envy, something about your neighbors as.
Yes you did. Kate posted it also, on November 28.
Carolla’s rant is by far the best take so far on the OWS protests, because it looks not at the putative politics but at the real-world corporeal mindset that propels the protests. Here’s hoping for multiple re-posts all across the internet to ensure that as many people as possible see it.
Kathy said: “I posted this rant on my blog on November 22.”
Yes you did, and it was awesome then too. But this time I get to comment about it. 🙂
I nearly didn’t post it because of the language, actually. Along with the fact that he didn’t really say anything new.
Carolla is right on the money. The OWS generation are the spawn of Boomers, which means they are the spoiled brats of spoiled brats. And if that thought doesn’t make you tremble for the future of our society, it should.
Hey, the language is almost the best part. 🙂
Just goes to show, you’re never too old to be juvenile. Bwaha!

I think what disturbs the crap out of me is that not only are these kids hopped up on self-esteem, and a**-douchery (thanks Mr Carolla) but if they ever DO (heaven forbid) have an epiphany about how much a**-douchery has been foisted on them, they are on NO WAY equipped with the hard-skills to do anything meaningful about.
They lack, in all likelihood, the skills, discipline, mental endurance and patience, plus the faculties for accurate and objective self-criticism, that they (and the rest of us!) are desparately going to need them to have!
I fear by the time they learn those things, and are in a position to take care of themselves (let alone others) they will be too old and infirm, and a gigantic busrden to the productive among us.
We really are buggered…
