Yesterday Roy Green had on a guest that absolutely blew me away. Her name is Chi Kun Shi and she’s a Chinese-Canadian lawyer from Toronto. Just imagine if Conservative politicians in Canada walked even 50% of her talk!!!

Where’s the video?
I think Roy Green’s a radio host! (I could be wrong. And, where’s he from?)
What I got from her interview was that we all need to grow up and take our duties as citizens seriously. But unless we do away with the party system and insist that our representatives all be independent, I don’t see us making much progress on that front. Additionally, with each MP representing over 100K citizens, the odds that even an independent will vote every time the way I personally want them to, is a no more realistic situation than the current one. For all of its faults, at least the party system enables each voting individual to assess that party’s platform and opt for the least objectionable, keeping in mind that not every plank in that platform is likely to be met. In the unlikely event that none of the parties comes close enough to your convictions, then your duty, as a citizen, is to form your own party, and see how many people will follow you (think Preston Manning).
If your ridings are anything like mine, I’m sure you have encountered people who didn’t vote at all, on the premise that “there is no-one to vote for”. My opinion, and apparently hers as well, these people simply haven’t grown up.
Not surprising that this social attitude has developed….
It is similar to but not anolygous to the development of 18-19th century Prussia….an army with a country.
We have a government(mostly bureaucracy) with a country rather than a country with a government. Police mentality is just a reflection of this….behaving/acting as our rulers rather than our servants.
And like Frederick, The Great and Bismark’s Prussia we get the government we deserve….
sasquatch, “We have a government(mostly bureaucracy) with a country rather than a country with a government. Police mentality is just a reflection of this….behaving/acting as our rulers rather than our servants.”
Exactly sir and if you have any amount of dealings with the bureaucracy you will see exactly how true this is. The federal bureaucracy is much worse than the provincial.
She is speaking my mind! Back off government!
Public servants? Not really.
Yes, it is a cultural problem, and that cultural problem started big time with Trudeau. Big stinking nanny government with an entrenched public service bureaucracy high on itself. Canadians haven’t been used to thinking and doing for themselves for decades. How many generations have lived like this already?
Thankfully for radio hosts like Roy Green, Adler, etc. and now Sun News Network, the thick woolen blankets are being peeled off and enlightenment has begun.
Ask around: Why do you want the government to solve all you problems for you? You’ll get the blank stare from all except the OWS gang.
My annual beef: forcing health care employees to take the flu vaccine.
Do the research people, don’t be sheeple.
As a casual observer of all things political I have reached the conclusion that we should stop yelling at our politicians and start firing our bureaucrats. Over the years it has become ever more apparent that the real enemy is not the rubber stamping politicians but rather the agenda of the entrenched bureaucrats.

Marxists understand that you gotta catch ’em young. Their influence over Public Schools enables them to start brainwashing the nation at an early stage.
End. Publik. Skooling.
Sometimes immigrants have a much better understanding of Canadian realities than we do here. Chi Kun Shi is from a totalitarian state, she knows it when she sees it.
She’s 100% right, the government DOES NOT trust Canadians to do the right thing. Our current style of government assumes guilt and makes it as difficult as possible to prove innocence.
Another way of saying it is “people are stupid, they must be controlled”. That’s the Liberal Way, everything they do is based on that premise.
The job of Conservatives is to change that paradigm. People are not stupid, but governments tend to be. Best results are achieved by limiting the government, not the people.

*Liberal leader Bob Rae is Maurice Strong’s nephew.
Unfortunately she will be ignored by the majority of Canada’s MSM.
What an intelligent and strong woman. She covers the situation very well, especially recognising that it is we, the people, who have allowed it to happen. We can never change the present system until we change ourselves. I see proof of it all the time whenever anything bad happens, even a bad accident, and the majority of people immediately demand that the government fix it. I have yet to be able to reason with anyone with this mind-set or to make them see where this is wrong.
“Unfortunately she will be ignored by the majority of Canada’s MSM.”
In addition, the Canadian left will soon demand a Negro PM like Obamba in the US.
She won’t rank fully because of her race. Also similar to Cain, as a conservative, she’ll be labelled a Chinese “Uncle Tom”, a traitor to her race for not following Red China’s totalitarian ideological line and promoting China style communism in Canada.
Just say’n, it seems to be how the left navigates threw our society.
I sent an email to Sun News Network to see about having her as a guest. We will see.
Another great post Robert! Imagine if more citizens thought and spoke as she did. We’ll get better politicians when more rank & file people grow up and become better citizens. We do get the government we deserve.
“Conservative Politician” Sorry, that’s impossible, they don’t exist.
Hmmm, the tax receipt for voting is an idea I floated to Steven Fletcher, MP, when he was looking at electoral reform and he had never heard the scheme before. It’s nice to know that others are thinking along the same lines. Mind you, the ‘makers’ would vote and the ‘takers’ wouldn’t, so it won’t get off the ground in the great egalitarian Canadian mosaic.
She is of course correct. If we expect to have the nanny state treat us with respect we must be worthy of the respect. If you want the state to stop pushing its nose in your business, telling you how to eat, think and act, stop asking it to be a parent by having it protect you from all the meanness in the world and to punish the kids who you don’t like.
Comming from China I’m sure this lady knows that socialism is a form of eternal childhood where people surrender their rights as independent self sustaining adults, to perpetual childhood obedience to the parent figures. Of course the practical application of statist socialism is a littless nurturing than the parent-child relationship, it approximates an inmate-guard relationship in a public institution with regulatory regimes and corporal punishments for the smallest infractions.
I was ready to flip the nanny tate the bone just 2 years out of college, why does it take most Canadians so long to realise who the real threat/detriment/burden in their lives is?
I have come to the conclusion and probably a lot later than most, is that politicians do not want to be held accountable. Bureaucrats do not want to be held accountable. People as a whole do want be accountable.
I thought about running as an independent candidate, either provincially or federally, so when I am in a debate I can point to each party candidate and say, “You’re an idiot, You’re an idiot and you are an idiot.” And basically say things that are not party speaking points.
Andrew Klaven has a related monologue thats well worth watching.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLz3l8tHfwA
The government has too much power and that it does not trust us. It is true. But how can it trust us when we allowed the government to make decisions for us. The lady pointed out that the present situation is not the fault of the government, it is OUR fault. WE gave the government its present powers, we elect the government and WE DID NOT scrutinize enough our candidates. So WE have to change. We need to start scrutinize our candidates, we need to see what they do, how they do it and how well they work. We also need to see more information on what they do on their websites. Their exact work record, as it is, and not the platitudes they put on their websites.
