The “W” Word

Wait until they find out the composers were white;

English Touring Opera (ETO) has dropped half of its orchestral players in a push for diversity.

At least 14 musicians have been told they will not be booked for the 2022 ETO tour, many of them long-running members of the orchestra.

The ETO has attributed the changes to prioritising “increased diversity in the orchestra,” something that’s in line with “firm guidance of the Arts Council.”

Go See Your Doctor While You Still Can

There’s a woke takeover happening in medicine with medical students going all in on the anti-racist, trans-rights activist movements with the obvious consequences. Bari Weiss and Katie Herzog dive into this mess and tell us how bad it really is in this podcast. There are some horrifying audio clips from an anti-white lecture given to Yale medical students that has to be heard to be believed.

One of the interesting things here is that Weiss and Herzog look at the world with what I’ll call an old left filter. This doesn’t become clear till the end of the podcast when they mention almost in passing what a shame it is that everyone seems to have forgotten the old goal of bringing in a single payer system in the United States. Having said that there is some excellent journalism going on here and its well worth the listen.

Olympic surfing exposes whitewashed Native Hawaiian roots

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) — For some Native Hawaiians, surfing’s Olympic debut is both a celebration of a cultural touchstone invented by their ancestors, and an extension of the racial indignities seared into the history of the game and their homeland.

The Tokyo Summer Games, which open July 23, serve as a proxy for that unresolved tension and resentment, according to the ethnic Hawaiians who lament that surfing and their identity have been culturally appropriated by white outsiders who now stand to benefit the most from the $10 billion industry.

“Non-Racialized”

They mean White.

CTV- The department says its target audience is “non-racialized Canadian middle-aged adults” – defined as between 30 and 44 years old – living in any rural or urban area. It specifically points out that includes adults living in places such as Hamilton, Thunder Bay and Quebec, considered to be “racism hot spots” because of the high volume of police-reported hate crimes. The department says the campaign’s goal is to get more Canadians fighting systemic racism by making them aware of its impacts through marketing, social media and public engagement.
