Facebook/Instagram (meta)- Changes to News Availability on Our Platforms in Canada

Updated on June 22nd, 2023

Today, we are confirming that news availability will be ended on Facebook and Instagram for all users in Canada prior to the Online News Act (Bill C-18) taking effect.

We have repeatedly shared that in order to comply with Bill C-18, passed today in Parliament, content from news outlets, including news publishers and broadcasters, will no longer be available to people accessing our platforms in Canada.

Our Chinese-Installed Government In Ottawa

Dan Knight;

Good afternoon, fellow Canadians. As your vigilant observer, I want to share with you some concerning revelations brought to light at the PROC committee meeting yesterday. Investigative journalist Sam Cooper unveiled the depth of foreign interference in our 2021 elections during his interview with Erin O’Toole.

Cooper’s sources indicated that as far back as 2021, CSIS was aware of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents tracking an MP. Even more disconcertingly, these agents supposedly approached potential voters about this candidate, a move CSIS regarded as ‘coordinated and alarming.’ Cooper himself became a target of the CCP after he published his book detailing their foreign interference.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out …

This column talks about how Pipeline Online has now seen evidence of its links being silenced by Facebook to a small number of Facebook users. On the same day, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s Facebook account was banned from posting content.

This is 1984 in real time, folks. Whether you like or don’t like my content, soon all news content, including that which you do like, may soon be banned from Facebook, and possibly Google, too.

Our Chinese-Installed Government In Ottawa

Summary from Sam Cooper: and this is a bombshell, O’Toole risked breaching his boundaries in Parliament, to disclose @csiscanada informed him of “payment of funds by the Chinese Communist Party through the United Front Work Department to create specific products of misinformation on me as a leader” […] This is the first time I have heard a politician outline the full scope of what I have been informed of by experts and sources regarding CCP’s sweeping and covertly funded campaign of threats and inducements (support of candidates) to exert influence on Canadian elected govts.

As Trudeau travels the globe spreading inclusion and blackface: Erin O’Toole met with David Johnston for his Report

To set the scene, Mr. Johnston did not reach out to the Conservative Party, my office, or Pierre Poilievre’s office until the final week of his initial assignment. He waited until the very end to meet with the current and former leaders of the Party that had been the central target of the foreign interference he was charged with investigating. If I am to believe media reports, Johnston interviewed the Bloc Quebecois leader about events alleged to have taken place in British Columbia and Ontario – where Mr. Blanchet ran no candidates – before he finally got around to me or the present Conservative Leader. This makes no sense.

I was still waiting to receive a CSIS briefing on foreign interference that had been promised the week before when my office was called by the Johnston team and told we only had two days to make the meeting work. I asked to meet with him following my meeting with CSIS (which I am still waiting to receive) but was told that this was not possible. I confirmed with Pierre that his office received a request to meet on the same day that I was. He declined the meeting and somehow that information was leaked to the media within hours. […]

Given the pressed timeline, we were literally putting the binders together as Mr. Johnston arrived at my office with his counsel. With this in mind, you might understand how disappointed I was to learn halfway through my meeting that Johnston’s report was already undergoing French translation. I was flabbergasted and realized that nothing I was going to provide to the Special Rapporteur was going to impact his work.

What a country.

Update: Johnston’s report is in.

Michael Shellenberger- World on cusp of woke totalitarianism as governments act to end free speech

The Twitter Files gave us a window into how government agencies, civil society, and tech companies work together to censor social media users. Now, key nations are attempting to enshrine this coordination into law explicitly.

Around the world, politicians have either just passed or are on the cusp of passing sweeping new laws, which would allow governments to censor ordinary citizens on social media and other Internet platforms.

Hey, not so fast: Canada unveils new Heraldic Crown Emblem stripped of religious symbols

Canada’s new royal crown emblem unveiled by the Canadian Heraldic Authority (CHA) during King Charles III’s coronation over the weekend has been stripped of all previous religious symbols such as crosses and the fleur-de-lis.

They did employ a crescent, with a 5 pointed star in the leaves.

But to be fair, I’m likely reading too much into this. It might just be a sickle. .

How Can We Further Divide Canada?

Looks like the next election will be a referendum on mandatory jabs.

Liberal.ca- Mandatory Vaccination

To finish the fight against COVID-19, protect people at work, ensure businesses can get back up to speed, and, most importantly, make sure our kids can safely return to school, we need to do everything we can to keep public spaces safe.

A re-elected Liberal government will:

-Require that travellers on interprovincial trains, commercial flights, cruise ships, and other federally regulated vessels be vaccinated.

-Ensure vaccination across the federal public service. As the country’s largest employer, this will protect the health and safety of the federal public servants and their communities, across Canada.

-We will also keep working with employers in Crown corporations and federally regulated workplaces to ensure vaccination is prioritized for workers in these sectors.

Things You’ll Never See On The CBC

@AndrewScheer

Bombshell report of Beijing’s interference in our democracy, intimidating an MPs family over a vote in the House of Commons.

CBC: why you need sex ed before you go to space.

Not one article on their news home page about Trudeau’s inaction.

Related: Almost three-quarters of the public blame the news media for political polarization and most have very little faith in the press’ ability to “fairly and accurately” report the news. I know you’re all shocked.
