Art Of The Troll

Robert Graboyes sees that and more;

In several social media posts, President-elect Trump referred to “the Great State of Canada” (or “the 51st state”) and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as “Governor Trudeau. It’s a nonsensical idea, and I suspect Trump knows it’s a nonsensical idea. The president-elect likely raised the idea for four reasons:

• To give the nettlesome prime minister a diplomatic swirly. If doing so contributed to Trudeau’s downfall, then Trump’s trolling constituted a Worthwhile Canadian Initiative.

• To distract the legacy media, for whom the absurdity of annexing Canada is an irresistible shiny, rotating object. If they’re focused on Canada, journalists lack sufficient bandwidth and attention span to focus, as well, on Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, or Tulsi Gabbard.

•To intimidate and disorient Canadian authorities prior to tariff negotiations. These functionaries haven’t sufficient bandwidth or attention span to deal with tariff minutiae while journalists badger them about Trump’s irredentist impulses.

•Because he can.

Related: Justin Trudeau abruptly leaves the Liberals’ caucus meeting after 30 minutes, saying he has “work to do as prime minister.” The meeting, which included all Liberal MPs, lasted for six hours.

The Real Justin Trudeau Exposed

This should be a MUST WATCH for all Canadians: Unlike the Canadian media sycophants, who haven’t dared say a cross word against Trudeau, Matt Taibbi and Walter Kirn mock Justin Trudeau incessantly for over 30 minutes and extend it to all other phony liberals across the Great White North.

Fun fact: Kirn was once married to Maggie McGuane, the daughter of Margot Kidder. As Kirn explains, Ms. McGuane once lived with Pierre & Justin Trudeau in the prime minister’s residence, while her mom dated the elder Trudeau.

Legal Limbo?

Now that Parliament is prorogued, any bill that was in the process of being passed during that session officially dies. That should include the proposed changes to capital gains tax legislation. Nonetheless, I’m receiving mixed messages about that, since it’s my understanding that the Canada Revenue Agency has been acting as if the measures were already law. I’m curious as to what SDA readers been hearing from their accountants.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s move to step down and prorogue parliament has killed a series of changes his government proposed to capital gains.

The Long Good Riddance

Update: No matter how much you hate him, it’s not enough.

Vassy says Trudeau stepping down as Liberal Leader at 10:45. Will remain as PM.

GG has been asked to prorogue House until late March. (Gives House enough time to pass Supply Bill & ensure that govt doesn’t run out of money before April 1).

“All PMO staff ordered in person, in office, for Monday…”

I really would prefer he stay long enough to give the concession speech he so rightfully earned.

Gradually, Then Suddenly

Stephen Punwasi;

Fun fact: 🇨🇦’s last finance minister executed a wild accounting scheme that no one is discussing.

This reckless moved padded the pockets of corporate interests, artificially inflates gov revenue, & is partially responsible for the loonie’s plunge.

🧵👇

2/ One of her favorite moves was borrowing on behalf of corporate interests. 🇨🇦 wasn’t “giving” money, it borrowed for them.

It later forgave billions turning it into strategic corporate welfare & they refused to disclose for whom. But that’s another issue.

3/ the real issue was the real estate loans.

The Libranos: Crappy New Year, Suckers!

Dan Knight, with the new year in preview;

Good morning, Canada. It’s New Year’s Eve, and while many of you are preparing to celebrate tonight, let’s take a moment to reflect on what’s coming tomorrow. When the clock strikes midnight, it won’t just be the start of 2025 — it’ll mark the beginning of Taxpocalypse 2025, a year where Justin Trudeau’s government will hit the middle class harder than ever before.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation has released a report that lays bare the financial storm Canadians are about to endure. It’s not just inflation draining your wallet; it’s an avalanche of new taxes designed to fund Trudeau’s bloated government and its endless corruption. Let’s go through the numbers, because you deserve to know what’s really happening.

After all. those Liberal nests don’t comfy themselves.

More, from William Marriott;

After last year’s massive political upheavals what can we expect for 2025? I recommend good seatbelts and working airbags. And pay attention, things will happen fast.
