Bill C-69 the Budget Implementation Act includes a rewrite of the Alternative Minimum Tax Act, section 127.52.l.j that denies 50 percent of deductions for the cost of purchasing essential equipment by the blind. “You can scratch your head and say, why are we targeting these particular measures?” asked Nikolakakis, partner with EY Law LLP of Toronto.
The bill cuts deductions for blind taxpayers “for the cost of a device or equipment including synthetic speech systems, Braille printers and large print on-screen devices prescribed by a medical practitioner and designed to be used by blind individuals in the operation of a computer,” said Nikolakakis.

The data shows that in the first six months of the NDP in power, there were 263 fewer hip-and-knee surgeries in Manitoba compared to the last six months of the Conservative Party. And that’s in addition to hundreds of hip-and-knee surgeries that could have been done if the NDP hadn’t banned sending patients to private clinics in the U.S. or other provinces.
To make matters worse, the median wait time for surgery in Manitoba jumped from six-and-a-half months to eight months.

My crime was in saying that most students who died while enrolled in these schools from 1883-1996 did so from disease, especially tuberculosis. Though factually true, the Abbotsford School District wrote to me in June 2021 that it was a time to hear from students “and not debate or challenge their emotional response to the news…. [Students] were struggling to make sense of the news and process the discovery.”
The problem was there was no discovery in Kamloops, and there still is no evidence whatsoever.
At the end of the partial and superficial investigation, I was fired.

I’m not sure how much value there is in a Master’s degree in psychedelics and consciousness, but maybe it’s a step above a degree in unconsciousness. When socialized medicine won’t treat you, is it really that much of a bonus when the doctor can offer LSD to go along with MAID?
The program, which opens next September, will be housed in the university’s psychology department, but run in partnership with the department of classics and religious studies. Students will be able to take a broad range of courses from neuroscience to comparative mysticism.

The Commons today is expected to pass a ban on federally regulated employers’ use of replacement workers in case of strike or lockout.
Bill C-58 An Act To Amend The Canada Labour Code would restrict federally regulated employers like airlines, banks and telecom companies from using replacement workers in strikes or lockouts under threat of $100,000-per day fines. A clause of the bill delays enforcement one year from final passage in Parliament.
No Conservative MP spoke against the bill or opposed it in Second or Third Reading.
