Update, at Northern Perspective: Liberals Considering MASSIVE Concessions as CBC, CTV Says Carney Is Cornered
A White House Official confirms for me POTUS spoke to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney last night. The two leaders talked about the retaliation tariffs POTUS is planning on adding on Canada. The Official tells me there was no resolution that would prompt the President to hold…

Here’s how it works, Stellantis. Take a page from the operation manual of the grifters who say “There’s no Can’t in Canada”.
Step A:

Step B:
https://eletric-vehicles.com/ford/canada-grants-ford-464m-for-oakville-truck-pivot-after-ev-plan-scrapped/
Oh, and after step B, close up and move to the US anyway. It’s quite obvious the Canadian electorate doesn’t care.
Blessing in disguise, Stellantis vehicles are crap!
I refer to them as Russian vehicles, built stateside!
I’m very happy for the workers of Illinois. I don’t care if the vehicles are crap; I don’t care that Illinois is a blue state. As long as American workers are getting a paycheck this is a good thing.
Canadian de-industrialization continues at pace. Congrats on your cleaner, greener, more sustainable Canadian future! And the Indigenous mother turtle worshipers approve too!
And yet we somehow manage to score similarly on the global Environmental Performance Index while having a much larger and dispersed population and not de-industrializing. Funny that.
But, but, but … we pulled out of The Paris Accords!
The Horror, The Horror …
Oh noes! But hey, it gave PM Carney an excuse to blame Canadian wildfires that smoked up our country an excuse to blame it on our President and our dastardly selves!
Every little thing they do is magic. And it does kinda turn me on.
I love it when a plan starts coming together.
That fat governor of Illinois and his disgusting party of mobsters is now in a bit of a quandary. They aren’t going to be eager to let go of Stellantis any time soon.
I wonder if Canada is going to accept our terms? What is that you always say Kenji? Oooooh maaama?
Tomorrow might be kinda fun.
This could make that bridge deal reaction look mild.

Used to worry about the poor
But I don’t worry anymore
Used to worry about the black man
Now I don’t worry about the black man
Used to worry about the starving children of India
You know what I say now about the starving children of India?
I say, “Oh mama”
Origin of my catchphrase … I say; Ohhhhhhhhhhh Mommmmaaaaaa
Those lyrics may need a revision.
Yeah … our worry appears to have fixed that bit bout the starvin’ chilren’ in India. Now we have to worry bout the starvin’ chilren’ in Gaza … gettin all genocided and whatnot
Kenji, you may not have had to witness it, but I have seen children with half their faces blown off because sometimes bad things have to happen. And, it is never easy for the people who had to do those bad things; not if they have a shred of humanity; they carry it with them.
I would prefer that not be such a regular occasion as it is.
Please try not to be so glib about it.
Randy Newman’s entire point of the lyric is that people are glib … and generally have world problem fatigue. Yes, I’m glib. Very glib. But not uncaring.
I just tend to blame those who put their weapon stockpiles in schools and hospitals.
fwiw KJ, my view of, for instance, ham ass setting up house in day care ctrs, hospitals, apartment bldg roofs then go on a crying jag when they get blown to bits anyway, it is assuredly NOT on the IDF personnel trying to fine tune their aim to minimize collateral damage.
it is ALL AND ENTIRELY the ‘fault’ of the ones who absconded with billions meant for water supply and sewage treatment systems in Gaza and blew it on a network of tunnels instead to make killing jooos easier.
Canada pulled out of Kyoto Protocol, the only signatory to do so. The United States had the good sense never to ratify Kyoto.
Canada is the snail crawling along the edge of a straight razor. That’s my dream; that’s my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor… and surviving.
And Carney is most certainly the errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.
Canada’s de-industrialization happened 35 years ago. We manufacture almost nothing. That wasn’t the case 35 years ago.
At some point, the Boards of Ford, GM, Toyota and Honda are going to look at the projections of their respective management teams and have to make some tough decisions. It won’t just be tariffs that they are looking at. They will look at EV mandates, taxation, labour costs; a whole suite of factors that will affect their capital expenditure decisions.
Meanwhile, Unifor is heading into negotiations with GM (maybe Ford as well) What will their demands be? We know unions in Soviet Canuckistan have always been reasonable in the face of economic reality (this site really needs an emoji function)
Will those same boards look at the demands of entrenched and politically protected unions and decide that maybe setting up or expanding in a Right to Work state is a better option? Perhaps the only saving grace will be that the automakers will be able to pay canuckistani workers in a much devalued Northern Peso.
I would advise Unifor to be cautious given the current situation but I am sure that would fall on deaf ears. As a profit seeking, Ontario based corporation, Unifor is perhaps too busy interfering in Alberta’s referendum with the full blessing of Elections Alberta and all levels of the Alberta government.
As for those vehicles being garbage? Perhaps. However, there were people that would buy them and that provided a living to over 2000 people along with ancillary economic activity. That is now gone.
For all the people that make a livelihood in that industry I only pray for cooler heads and resolution of current problems. Whichever way that may come
If all fails, they can all take solace that at least Quebec Dairy Millionaires are able to continue to extort consumers. After all, anything and everything for Quebec
Chris I agree with everything in your post but you missed one of the major concerns of anyone thinking of building or manufacturing in Canada. The environmental tax, it adds costs to everything. Energy, transportation, everything made in Canada. Build in USA, employ US, manufacture cheaper, ship to Canada without incurring any environmental tax to enter Canada.
Trudeau the fairy fled
In dread
When Trump told him
The USMAC was dead
Meanwhile, at the LPC…

oh look how things are unfolding. POTUS Trump acting in the interests of his OWN nation arranged for Carnage to be on the other end of the phone call correctly predicting Carnage was an amateur and a pushover.
and sufficient of TROC went along with the tactic
Remember back when Trump wanted some help controlling fentanyl coming in from Canada?
That’s all that it would have taken. And so that set the tone for today.
Elbows up!
Carney knows what he is doing. Chinada is a real thing.
Trump thinks he has leverage. He has nothing. Trump has tariffs. Carney has China.
The responses by most Canadians to that tweet are unreal. The brainwashing has clearly been extreme. And very effective. And the TDS is off the charts. It’s sad, really.
Does it matter? If Trump changes his mind in six months he’ll just ignore the deal anyway. He’s already shown that he won’t keep his word. Why would signing yet another piece of paper make a difference this time?
