Is There Nothing That Obama Can’t Tire Of?

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
Carol Platt Liebau, March 2009[W]hen he was at the [Harvard Law Review] you did get a very distinct sense that he was the kind of guy who much more interested in being the president of the Review, than he was in doing anything as president of the Review.
Roger Simon, June 2010Ever since viewing his depressing and disconnected “energy” speech last week, I have been mulling whether Barack Obama actually wants to be president anymore. That was an address given by a man who looked very much like he didn’t want to be there, didn’t want to continue.

“Listen up, you punked, chumped boobs”

We looked at Obama not through your rose colored hallucinations, but through the cold, clear spectacles of reality. None of what he’s done since has surprised us one bit. In fact, many of us, myself included, predicted it even before his coronation by people like you. Yes, it’s nice that after a year and a half of horrible examples, the truth about him is finally beginning to penetrate your skulls. But why, for the love of god, couldn’t you see it at the beginning, when it was no less obvious, but your understanding of it might have done some good?

Barack Obama: Not Blameless Enough!

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
Breitbart, June 7You could have made excuses—our kids have fewer advantages, our schools have fewer resources, so how can we compete? You could have spent years pointing fingers—blaming parents, blaming teachers, blaming the principal or the superintendent or the government,” the president said.
Politico, June 11thPresident Barack Obama said Friday that some members of Congress should share the blame for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Is There Nothing That Obama Can’t Do?

Well, as it turns out…

In the nearly eight weeks that the ancient oil has been escaping its subterranean imprisonment, Obama has found….
…time for a couple mini-vacations with golf, a dose of party fundraisers, healthcare town halls, TV interviews, a high school graduation, a festive White House lawn picnic with members of Congress, a Paul McCartney music hoedown, an ABC July 4th TV taping and a session with a key Palestinian leader.
Thursday Obama issued important statements celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Department of Labor’s Women’s Bureau and King Kamehameha Day, and mustn’t forget, Portugal Day.
But Obama hasn’t found a few minutes to chat with Tony Hayward, the talkative CEO of BP, the petroleum protagonist in this environmental drama. Not even on the president’s ubiquitous, magically-secure BlackBerry.

The White House Message: Not Mixed Enough!

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
New York Times, May 27th“Those who think we were either slow on the response or lacked urgency, don’t know the facts,” Mr. Obama said. “This has been our highest priority.”
New York Times, May 27th“[T]he head of the agency that oversees offshore oil drilling, S. Elizabeth Birnbaum, resigned under pressure on Thursday after only 10 months in the job.”
Update: “a dumb and unnecessary lie….

Gulf Of Mexico: Not Oily Enough!

Associated Press;

A St. Louis scientist who was among a select group picked by the Obama administration to pursue a solution to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been removed from the group because of writings on his website, the U.S. Energy Department confirmed Wednesday. […]
“It’s disappointing at a time like this that when all Americans need to come together and focus on relief efforts and recovery efforts in the Gulf, someone divisive was placed in a position of power,” Bockelman said.

Indeed it is. On the other hand, America did vote for him.

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
Globe&Mail, May 14th“Mr. Obama delivered his stinging rebuke of industry and regulators in remarks at the White House Rose Garden, flanked by cabinet secretaries involved in the massive response and cleanup effort. They were his sharpest remarks yet since the April 20 explosion of the Deepwater Horizon rig that killed 11 people and triggered the spill gushing from a crumpled pipe at a BP well about 40 miles south of Louisiana.”
Rasmussen Reports, May 18th“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows 64% believe offshore oil drilling should be allowed, up from 58% earlier this month.”

Take Me, Obama

Judicial temperament;

He opened his mouth, said a few words, and the place was mesmerized. You could hear a pin drop. In part, that is because of all the rock star qualities he has: the eloquence, the magnetism, the great looks, the brilliance. When he opens his mouth, you know what you’re getting.

Barack Obama: Not Post-Racial Enough!

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
Barack Obama, “A More Perfect Union”“As such, Reverend Wright’s comments were not only wrong but divisive, divisive at a time when we need unity; racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of monumental problems – two wars, a terrorist threat, a falling economy, a chronic health care crisis and potentially devastating climate change; problems that are neither black or white or Latino or Asian, but rather problems that confront us all. “
Barack Obama, A More Perfect Mid-Term Campaign“This year, the stakes are higher than ever. It will be up to each of you to make sure that young people, African Americans, Latinos and women who powered our victory in 2008 stand together once again…”
