Take Me, Obama

Judicial temperament;

He opened his mouth, said a few words, and the place was mesmerized. You could hear a pin drop. In part, that is because of all the rock star qualities he has: the eloquence, the magnetism, the great looks, the brilliance. When he opens his mouth, you know what you’re getting.

  1. They spelled zero wrong.
I am constantly amazed that so called “educated” people find him intelligent. Same with Iggy up here. It takes these guys 1 minute to say something vapid when most people can get out an intelligent idea in about 10 seconds.

  2. Obama is becoming more presidential with each passing day. Truly a great leader. President Obama has brought a new sense of social obligation on the part of government to the white house. Through his Supreme Court nominations, the court will favor a more liberal and balanced approach. There are even some extreme right wing American commentators (Bill Cunningham, Michael Savage) that concede Obama will in all likelihood be a two term president. Hallelujah!

  3. Case in point: Take the above two blogs. Conservative, well spoken, truthful.
Second:liberal, vapid, confused and long winded!

  4. Case in point: Take the above two blogs.
    First: Conservative, well spoken, truthful.
Second: Liberal, vapid, confused, long winded and blasphemous!

  5. No doubt some today would also hail Hitler,Stalin and Mao as “The One”.

  6. Kagan could not be considered as far left as the retiring justice, John Stevens, but she is very close. Her politics aside, I think it is absurd that someone who has no experience in actually administering the law could even be considered for an appointment to the highest court in the land. The real issue is not whether she is right, left, up or down but rather has she the requisite skills to adjudicate cases brought before the court according to the law and the US constitution or will she be an activist who will “interpret” the law through the lens of her political perspective. If she is an activist she defacto becomes an unelected, unaccountable legislator. Not a good thing.

  7. There must be some sort of telepathic link between the greatest narcissists on the world. Perhaps that is why Hollywood is so enamored with Obamba. That they are all actors is coincidence?
Yes, it’s all show biz ala P.T. Barnham.
Relax suckers, the best part of the show is just getting started.

  8. I follow my own set of guidelines. I you don’t know what it is in one sentence and it takes more that two to explain it it’s usually Bull Shit.

  9. T …the reason and the only reason Odumma will be a two term president and the only reason savage say’s he will be is becasue the republicains have not got someone who is a true conservative ,a true right of center candidate ,bush was not bad but was certainly parto f the two party govornment media complex …and not to mention like savge also said what is then ext big thing obama MUST do to secure his second term ? …..amnesty for the illigals ….once he does that he will then in his second term try to remove limit’s on presidency and if and when that happens ..america will at that point bew a dictatorship ..period ..so you think iti s good because you are ignorant of tyrany ..and evil …you have no discernable credencials …not to mention it is pretty sad when your hero has to get votes from humans that are in the country illegally to stay in office that to me is pathetic in it’s self and you are just like him pathetic .
    Paul in calgary.

  11. Oh look, T is back after cowering in the basement cupboard, waiting for the last Barry/Gitmo thread to move down the page a bit.
Hey T, your guy is -keeping- the eeeevile military tribunals. He’s -keeping- Gitmo. He’s spending more money on the Afghan war than was spent in Iraq. Your guy just told the CIA to go kill an American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki, who is hiding in Yemen.
Barrack Obama will be a one-term President and defeated by the widest margin in history, or he will be declared President For Life.
    Is the koolaid good?

  12. Case in point: Take the above two blogs.
    First: Conservative, well spoken, truthful.
Second: Liberal, vapid, confused, long winded and blasphemous!-Glacierman
    Really!! well spoken and truthful?
have you ever listened to Michelle Bachman speak everything she says is BS.
Case in Point: Death Panels, Obama coming for your guns
Enjoy Beck, but get to be by 6pm

  13. The U.S. really scr*wed itself when they elected this idiot, now they’ll be blessed with an even greater fool on their Supreme Court. Gawd…

  14. Oh and BTW, Kagan is a typical Ivory Tower moron. High IQ, common sense of a flatworm. Like Iggy. Reality does not impinge on her universe.
That’s why she swoons over Barry. There’s nothing real about him.

  15. Right of Center, re Obama coming for your guns. Do you happen to know Kagan’s only recorded opinions on the Second Amendment?
    I do.
You should look it up. Try my blog, it could speed your journey.

  16. T forgot to use his /sarc tags again, I see.
November’s election is the next one, and a critical one at that. Even Dumb-ocrat pundits are expecting a bloodbath at the polls, and rightly so; only the minority of hard left idiots would have voted for the “change” obama and the dems have wrought. In 18 months he’s been the most disastrous president in the history of the country. His time is coming: first, retake the house/senate, and then lame-duck obama sits glassy-eyed for another 2 years until he’s consigned to the dustbin of history.

  17. He who ignores history is doomed to repeat it.
A justice appointed to the Supreme Court is appointed FOR LIFE and can only be removed by a majority of that panel.
Many times, in the past, a POTUS has appointed a sycophant and then found that individual becomes an individual beholden to no-one…and refusing to be the POTUS puppet…..sort of like Henry and Thomas Becket.
Add to this Kagan’s gender. Like it or not, perhaps a societal influence, frequently women in a position of authority go on a power trip….especially shallow, insecure, individuals such as Kagan.
Given OBOZO’s mentality….the odds of him or Holder offending her, by giving rude direction are immense…if not inevitable.
Hell hath no fury…..Will she be a sheeple or a pit bull with lipstick and take him apart?

  18. re: T “the court will favor a more liberal and balanced approach.” Huh? Like a more loud and quiet approach? A more stupid and intelligent approach? A more redolent and odor free approach? Apparently opposites don’t just attract, they confuse.

  19. This quote by Eliot is in Thomas Sowell’s book critically examining ‘intellectuals’.
“Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don’t mean to do harm — but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it; or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.”
The above quote is suited to Obama, the pathological narcissist, as well as those of the Obama Gang, that set of ‘intellectuals’ divorced from reality who live within what we must judge as a ‘virtual’ rather than a ‘real’ world.
As Sowell writes:”The utterly un-self-critical attitude of many intellectuals has survived many demonstrably vast, and even grotesque, contrasts between their notions and the realities of the world. For example … [intellectuals] were throughout the 1930s holding up the Soviet Union as a favorable contrast to American capitalism, at a time when people were literally starving to death by the millions … and many others were being shipped off to slave labor camps.”
So we see that Obama and His Gang deny the reality of Islamic terrorism by moving to the virtual world of words, where terrorism does not exist. Problems disappear when they are called ‘man-caused disasters’ or ‘overseas contingency operations’.
In the Obama Virtual World, you can declare with a straight face that the ‘stimulus saved millions of jobs’ when the Real World denies even one such saved job. The Obama Virtual World will sell a health care system that ‘costs nothing’ while the Real World asks, repeatedly, how such a thing can occur. The Obama Virtual World, when confronted with the evidence that health care will cost trillions, is silent.
The Obama Gang can declare that illegal immigration doesn’t exist. After all, the Virtual World focuses only on the culpability and sins of American citizens. The Obama Gang therefore considers that what exists is ‘racism’ – while the Real World asks what to do about the half million illegals in Arizona, the drug wars, the kidnappings, the murders.
The Obama Virtual World utterly ignores Iran’s very real nuclear weapons capacities, ignores the demonstrations for democracy and instead, sets up monthly ‘deadlines-for-compliance-or-else’ …which deadlines keep getting ignored month by month.
The Obama Virtual World, inhabited by ‘intellectuals’ who live entirely in a world of words and thoughts untouched by real life facts and data, is strongly opposed to this real world. That’s why Obama has refused to do any open question press sessions for almost one year, unheard of in a democratic government – and a laugh in the face of his campaign promise of ‘openeness’ and ‘accountability’.
Obama can’t handle criticism and he can’t handle requests for hard data; he always lies about data and facts – neither of which have any reality to him.
The Obama Gang’s campaign against any and all who provide facts and criticize the Gang’s existence in the fallacious Virtual World is constant. Whether it’s attacks against FOX, Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, or the Tea Parties (which Obama calls disparagingly ‘teabaggers’) or Town Halls, or admonitions to students not to take blogs, the internet etc seriously….this Obama and Gang are opposed to the freedom of citizens to think and act for themselves.
Remember Obama’s insistence that the Senate pass the Stimulus without reading it. And Hodder’s rejection of the Arizona legislature, without reading its ten pages? Hodder ought to be fired for this behaviour. Obama ought to be turfed out for his anti-Americanism and his anti-realist agendas.

  20. What I like about ‘bama is that Mussoliniesque pose. Seriously, take a look at the old photos of El Duce – head back, chin out, looking down over his admirers, trying to look haughty and superior.
Wonder if ‘bama can manage the clenched fists on the waist trick the way that old Facist used to do it.
The funny about Mussolini is, that when he was hangin’ upside down, he had the same pose….

  22. It doesn’t surprise me that Kagan swooned after hearing Obama speak just “a few words”. What won her over could not have been content, for how much content could Obama have conveyed in such a short period of time? What galvanized her was the lack of a black accent. At last, here was a black man who didn’t sound black. Of course, she wasn’t at all “racist”. Liberals never are.

  23. O’take me to George, O’narcissist.
    O’s “war crimes”.
“In some respects this is worse than Bush,”.
“*This is his [O’s] sole legacy: a massive post-traumatic stress disorder.”
    …-
“US actors, intellectuals protest Obama ‘crimes’
NEW YORK — US actors and liberal intellectuals joined a list to be published Friday of nearly 2,000 people accusing President Barack Obama of allowing human rights violations and war crimes.
“Crimes are crimes, no matter who does them,” the statement reads over pictures of Obama and his predecessor George W. Bush due to appear in the New York Review of Books.
The statement, published as a paid advertisement, accuses Obama, who was elected in 2008 with the enthusiastic support of US liberals, of continuing Bush’s controversial approach to human rights in Iraq and Afghanistan, and in domestic security.
It takes aim especially at Obama’s decision — reported by US officials — to authorize the killing of a radical Islamic cleric and US citizen Anwar al-Awlaki, who is accused of ties to Al-Qaeda in Yemen.
“In some respects this is worse than Bush,” the statement says. “First, because Obama has claimed the right to assassinate American citizens whom he suspects of ‘terrorism,’ merely on the grounds of his own suspicion or that of the CIA, something Bush never claimed publicly.”
Among the signatories are linguist Noam Chomsky, “L.A. Confidential” actor James Cromwell, actor Mark Ruffalo and prominent Bush-era anti-war protestor Cindy Sheehan.”

  24. I like that part about them telling the CIA its ok to whack al-Awlaki. It just goes to show that no matter how f-ed the front office is, the boys in the factory still know how to git ‘er dun.

  25. Slick Willy was a greasy slimeball sex addict and now America has the Credit Card President who thinks reality will do what he says because he said it.
    A country truly in trouble.
Time for a John Galt moment to save the national soul.

  26. Kagan’s words above should exclude her from any judicial work as she clearly has no ability to JUDGE.
Any Republican Senator that doesn’t go all out to try blocking her appointment is not fit to be re-elected.
ET’s analysis of Obamugabe is bang-on. I can’t bring myself to listen to 2 seconds of POTUS because he has no constructive life skills, no integrity, nor any honesty which would entitle him to attempt to lecture to the US public and broader world beyond.

  27. “He opened his mouth, said a few words, and the place was mesmerized”
Didn’t they say the same of Hitler? Mesmerizing speakers are dangerous because those who are so mesmerized run off and do stupid things like the bidding of the mesmerizer.

  28. Those words are similar to Leni Riefensthal’s,
about the first time she saw Hitler and heard him speak.

  29. Obama always sounds to me like some precocious teenager trying to impress adults with a large vocabulary and a display of wisdom that upon deeper analysis turns out to be platitudes and bafflegab.
In other words, he’s perfect for the instant information generation.

  30. “When he opens his mouth, you know what you’re getting.”
Why yes, yes you do. Of course, some of us aren’t quite so taken with complete, utter nonsense as Kagan is.

  31. “When he opens his mouth, you know what you’re getting.”
What a stupid non thing to say about a grown man with the maturity quotient of a 5th grader. Of course citizens should know what they are getting..the self centred ‘I want’ list from a pre teen.

  32. Kagan sounds like a school girl with her first crush.
If Americans allow this dip stick on their court. They deserve to become Canada.

  33. Well this should dispel any rumours that Kagan is gay. She did everything but have his love child.
Lord I can’t stand the way people dry-hump Obama’s leg. I’m going to go take a shower.

  34. Of course they were mesmerized, BHO uses NLP – Neuro Lingusistic Programing – in all of his speeches and addresses which is why he does not like, and appears clumsy, when he is asked questions he is not prepared for. NLP is a form of hypnosis. Look it up if you want to learn more.
He has used NLP since day one. As a matter of fact, his main speech writer is an expert in NLP, and if memory serves me correctly, use to each it.
If you’ve evey wondered why he speaks monotone, includes pauses, and lacks a proper affect in his speech patterns and uses specific hand gestures, it is because he is using his honed NLP skills on his audience.
People who lack critical thinking skills are extremely susceptible to NLP suggestions and commands; hence, his liberal following.

  35. No-One:
Sounds like a bunch of paranoid horseshit to me.
There’s plenty in Obama’s policies and leadership to be critical of without resorting to this blather.

  36. I think everyone that frequents this site should read Thomas Sowell’s Intellectuals and Society. I quite honestly had never read anything from one of these intellectual types that was as common sense and grounded as this book.

  37. Kagan’s line about the knowing what you get is typical of left thinking. Tickles the ears, bypasses the logic of the brain and goes directly to the external senses for that euphoric “feeling”. Much like them being cast under a spell and going into a hypnotic state, ready to follow every direction of their leader (hypnotist BHO).
Watch the crowd the next time and see if you can tell who is under the “spell”!

  38. rabbit: Did you bother to look NLP up? Or do you simply believe he is a brilliant mesmerizing guy with a great deal of magnetism? He seems vacillate between saying stupid things, awkwardness and eloquence. Yes there are plenty of things wrong with his policies which should be the primary focus; however, I think it helpful to know how a person could hoodwink so many in the beginning.
NLP is a fact and a popular technique; how successful the technique is remains debatable. He is a liar and devious and I would not put it past him to use this technique – the underhandedness of it suites him and I think it would be appealing to his narcissism. It’s a plausible piece of the puzzle, but by no means the most important piece.

  39. No-One, I actually know somebody in the speaking biz. Professor and Ph.D. in rhetoric. Says the NLP guys are making all these super duper claims about how their techniques access the nervous system directly etc. etc., but whan all the smoke clears this is still the spoken word.
Its -rhetoric-. Some guys are powerful speakers, most aren’t. Barry’s single claim to fame is that he can read from the phone book and bring people to tears. And he can really do that.
But people who hear him speak can’t remember a damn thing he said. Because he didn’t say anything. He said nothing, really well.

  40. I don’t know if it is true or not but apparently bammy may have an illegal SSN. From what I read it is a Mass. number and he worked at Baskin-Robbins in Hawaii and would have needed one. You must reside in the issuing State and he has never lived there. Unlike most his interpetations you only get one and it is illegal to apply for more.
The other rumour going around is you can’t see his marks because he was on the affirmative action plan with connections and all that implies.
Wonder if he will campaign in Arizona?

  41. Well, the thing is, this guy has never inspired me, never made me think that he’s a deep thinker. What am I missing that so many others get starry-eyed over??

  42. Speedy, not to get too much off-topic, but I think birthers are wasting their time. He was born in the US.
*But* I’ve long contended (here too) that I think the reason he’s been so secretive about his documents, birth certif, transcripts etc, is that there is a history of deceipt or fraud in order to be eligible for scholarships and/or bursaries.

  43. Erik, its what you’re -not- missing. A functional brain. Anatomical studies have shown that while liberals do have brains, large parts seem to be shut off.
However there is hope, the shock of being mugged does seem to turn the hibernating parts of the liberal brain back on again. Serious cases may require two or three muggings before the switch gets flipped, but it does seem to work most of the time.

  44. Phantom: The effectiveness has been debated. It is a common technique taught mostly in self help and counseling circles and to a lesser degree in public speaking.
The theory goes something like this: When people drive or watch TV, spend time staring at a computer screen, read a book; they are in a mild trance state and are more susceptible to suggestions to the subconscious – subliminal messages. So, if a speaker can lull a person into this state through using a monotone voice, pauses, pacing, rhythm, and hand gestures to “anchor” the suggestions which are cleverly worded to include terms/words that are known to elicit a positive emotional responses in people.
Many people confuse this technique with hypnosis and most people think stage hypnosis which is a much deeper type of trance than what is aimed for in NLP. Someone using NLP can not get a group of listners to quack like ducks at his command – it is more like a clever sales pitch with emotional content which could explain your observation that he doesn’t say anything, or nothing really well said and that you can’t remember a dammed thing he said. The aduience is not supposed to remmber the content, but the emotion or feelings the speaker evoked – that’s why he uses these words – hope, change, light, freedom, protect, etc – they are highly subjective and mean different things to different people – that way his speeches end up seeming like they were taylor made for the individual listening to them.
I hope my explanation of the technique was understanable – I’m certainly not an expert, but was introduced to the technique in a counselling interviewing course; however, it was never named or called NLP – it was only later that I discovered what I was really being taught to do. The technique did not sit right with me from the get go. Thankfully, this was not the only technique taught in the said course.

  45. Phantom: I forgot to add that I think BHO has abondoned this using that technique – it simply does not work when people are “alert and critical” of what is being said by him. He used it extensively in his election campaign though. He know is now choosing to use social networking and sound bites to positively influence his audience – his whitehouse youtube videos don’t ay anything either, and are also highly subjective – they just show him being presidential or human for a minute or two.

  46. Doing a little “surfing” this a.m., and saw some Al Gore clips on U-tube etc…Watching that man at work, I started thinking, that in a few years time he will be doing guest appearances, wrestling fat people on SNL, or shows like ” I am a celebrity, get me out of here!..cheeseball!.

  47. I don’t know about you folks but every time I hear Obama I turn him off or squirm in my chair if having to listen to him is important.
I now know how the ancient Romans felt when having to be forced to hear the Emperor Nero for hours with his “Entertainment”. It would cause people in an insane rage of utter despair to cast themselves from the Circus walls. Sometimes to their death. Some even committed suicide.
Obama is insufferable. Least-ways, to me. He talks rubbish. Spewing meaninglessness tripe, like it means gold.
