  2. When I’m in La Ronge, I stick out my tongue a lot and say “nyahh” and “fer sure, bro”. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

  4. Like Kitty, I’ve found myself inadvertently slipping into a British accent when speaking with British folks.
    But, Bam Bam isn’t having a conversation. He’s giving a speech. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen/heard him morph from presidential speaker to proselytizing shaman. I strongly suspect he thinks he sounds inspirational and uplifting. To me he just sounds phony and empty — the change in tone to “Reverend Obama” I’m certain is deliberate and calculated.

  6. My son worked in Oklahoma for a while. He did develop a drawl, but he was there for two months, not an hour!!

  7. To be fair, West Virginia is literally 50 miles from Washington and you can walk from the White House to Virginia (it’s just across the river to Arlington National Cemetery). A lot of people have southern accents in Washington because Washington is basically on the border between south and north.
    Also, Obama is basically giving a eulogy and paying his respects for the recent and tragic loss of life of a bunch of coal miners which was a good thing to do. The preacher stuff seems over the top to me but you have to really hear the entire speech to get the context.

  14. I think that Obama is, pyschologically, moving more and more into a virtual world. Away from reality.
    As I’ve ranted before, in my view, he’s a pathological narcissist, a state of mind that he probably moved into as a young boy, abandoned by both parents, flipped from one caregiver to another, ..and he moved into a state where HE rather than others took control over his experiences.
    HE began to control how others dealt with him, but not in a realistic manner which as a young boy was without power but in a ‘virtual’ manner.
    He moved to control others.
    By misinforming them; he’s unable to differentiate between fact and fiction; he’ll tell you whatever is need to put you in his control. That includes his accent.
    By emotional manipulation; for Obama, the state of the world is always near apocalpyse, so he’ll make you do what he wants by hope and fear.
    And if you resist him, he’ll blame, not what he wants, but you. Of racism and bias.
    His entire life has been where he must live within this virtual world where he can control you. IF he can’t control you, then you have no reality for him; you don’t exist. This means that for Obama…reality is purely fictional. And he’s the author.
    Since becoming president, exposed to criticism that he can’t control, Obama has lashed out at these people and groups (Hannity, FOX, Beck, Limbaugh, Tea Parties, Town Halls)..and has moved more and more into a world isolated from direct contact with reality and into a virtual world of his own authorship.
    So, in His Book, he is Supreme. He’ll change accents because he is authoring Himself in this chapter (speaking event) in order to control you.
    Notice how Obama is constantly moving around, an endless campaign, constantly giving speeches. All to maintain His Control over you. If he were to stop this constant Presence, he’d fear that you would drift out of the Obama Bubble of Control.
    I think his psychological state is worsening, as his feeling of insecurity increases. The BackRoom Gang that manage him as their puppet, have moved him more into the security blanket of his virtual world…while going rapidly ahead with their agenda of inserting statism into the US, as fast as they can, before the American public reacts and rejects it.

    In Obama’s case it’s the serpent changing form to mesmerize the sheep.

  18. Everything this shiester does is a sham. I too, sometimes start an accent after being in an area or dealing with certain folks (six years in the Lone Star state, y’all), but this crappola stinks.
    btw, ever start to stutter while working with a stutterer? Embarassing but it happens. It’s the way our brain is wired I guess.

  19. This guy irritates me more when he wears his big boy pants. What were the American people thinking when they elected a guy who acts like a teenager – a guy who is acting like a kid because he knows exactly what he is doing. He really hates Western Civilization, IMO, and we are dumb enough to listen to him lecture us – then we feel sorry for him – he is beneath our pity, he is USING our pity. His critics do not take him seriously because he is not a forceful appearing person and he acts like a bull in a china shop. IMO, this attitude is exactly what the President expects, he has an agenda and he is playing the public…later he will punish the public…read all about Lenin then ‘cut and paste’!!

    Agreed ET. I commented a few weeks back that IMO it’s likely that the only reason he would respond to criticism from Sarah Palin is to increase the size of his pulpit. Obama has over exposed himself to the point that people tune him out, or avoid his comments all together; therefore, the only way to feed his insatiable appetite for attention(or control) is to now ride on the coattails of others.
    As far as the “accent on demand” goes, IMO this is just TOTUS trying to convince people “he’s one of them”, when he’s clearly not. We see the same behaviour from our elitists here at home: knocking people out of the way to get on camera cheering at a hockey game, reminiscing about shooting ducks with a 22, and faux nature settings for political pamphlets.

    “The Chicago problem is the perfect storm of race, machine politics, drugs, education failure, social welfare failure and even 2nd Amendment issues. Celebrity culture has made a cameo appearance through Jackson, Pfleger and Sharpton, if you like celebrities of that sort. There’s even a dynastic element to it. It so convoluted as to be grotesque. The good news is that the very same things that are killing the Chicago neighborhoods are probably the same things that are killing the country, only more slowly, because the other victims are in a better state of health. And therefore the neighborhoods of Chicago may be saved as a byproduct of the efforts of others to save themselves. Condemned by incident, saved by accident.”

    He’s appealing to specific groups: ‘young people, Latinos, African Americans and women’. That’s it. The rest are, I guess, ‘unAmerican’.
    Remember that for Obama, if you are not For Him, then you actually, literally, do not exist. He only focuses on people whom he considers he can control. If you have escaped this Virtual World of Obama – you are an alien.
    He has no capacity to see, hear or voice the truth. Obama lives in a virtual world, a postmodern world, where reality is what he feels and writes.
    We are going to see more of this divisiveness as the November elections move along. We will also see an apocalyptic scenario set up. Obama manipulates people by setting up a crisis where you are trapped in an emotion hysteria of hope and fear.
    Obama controls people by this tactic; it’s a basic strategy for him. He’s used it in the stimulus package, in bank bailouts, in cap and trade, in health care, in defining criticism as ‘internal terrorism’…and he’s going to set up a summer crisis to enable him to control the November vote.
    The other tactic that we’ll see will be a heightening of accusations of extremism among any and all who dissent. We’ve seen that strategy already, in the WH and Democratic tactic of defining the Tea Parties as ‘violent extremism’ (Clinton and others are busy doing the legwork on this).
    Think about it. What are the Obama and Obama Gang tactics? Propaganda. Pure emotional manipulation; totally fraudulent; using crisis scenarios, apocalyptic cliffs, ..filled with misinformation, statistical lies, irresponsible hyperbole, smears and denigration of questions and doubt and, dividing the people up, turning them into blocs against each other.
    That’s Obama.
