Judicial Watch has obtained documents from the Oregon Health Authority that show 56 minors have received assessments or therapy related to “gender dysphoria” under the state’s taxpayer-funded health plan since January. Seven of the children were aged 0-9, according to the records obtained by JW, 22 were between the ages of 10 to 14 and 27 were 15-17 years old. The publicly-subsidized Oregon Health Plan delivers treatment that can include hormone-suppressing drugs and surgery for those who claim to have gender identity disorder.
Seventeen of the minors received hormone treatments or other drugs since January, the records show. This is described in the state documents as “medications to suppress puberty in gender questioning youth.” It may seem insane, or even criminal, for a licensed medical professional to administer drugs to a child who may be questioning their gender in order to suppress that child’s puberty. The medications as well as psychotherapy and doctor visits are all covered under the state measure, according to the records.

Last night I watched this TVO interview with a scientist from McMaster U who was promoting the virtues of “de-extincting” the woolly mammoth. I’ll paraphrase the first four minutes:
(a) (presumably spontaneous) climate change 11,000 years ago caused vegetation change, which
(b) isolated populations of woolly mammoths enabling easier predation by (presumably non-aboriginal) humans, leading to
(c) their extinction, and then
(d) mosses and lichens took over because there are no more woolly mammoth turds to support deep rooted plants, so
(e) greenhouse gasses escaped from the arctic soil and further warmed the planet, therefore
(f) if we genetically engineer herds of woolly mammoths and re-introduce them to the land of mosses and lichens the arctic savannah will magically return and the release of evil CO2 will be halted.
It gets better. From the 17:00 to 18:25 minute marks he addresses the ethical arguments against de-extinction…I’ll leave that as a surprise.

A Cambridge Professor has made the astonishing claim that three scientists investigating the melting of Arctic ice may have been assassinated within the space of a few months.
Professor Peter Wadhams said he feared being labelled a “looney” over his suspicion that the deaths of the scientists were more than just an ‘extraordinary’ coincidence.
But he insisted the trio could have been murdered and hinted that the oil industry or else sinister government forces might be implicated.

Now, what were you saying about this problem with “anti-intellectualism”?

Phillips was responding to questions over her role in the book titled An Action a Day Keeps Global Capitalism Away.
The book was written in 2004 by Greenpeace activist Mike Hudema. It detailed ways to protest government and business actions and to undermine institutions such as the mainstream media.
It provided a guide to organizing blockades or sit-in occupations, disrupting public events, defacing billboards and traffic signs, and shoving pies in the faces of public figures.
It gave tips on how to use the mainstream media to get the message out, but also provided ideas on how to undermine the credibility of the media with planted or false stories.
“The media hoax reveals that the media do not always (if ever) know what they’re doing, much less present the truth,” wrote Hudema.

Other kinds of disordered assumptions are held by those who suffer from anorexia and bulimia nervosa, where the assumption that departs from physical reality is the belief by the dangerously thin that they are overweight. . . .
