The ongoing boycott of the biggest news story in the world by most mainstream media outlets screams out for the following poll question to be given to all American journalists:
If you had these two choices, which path would you take:
1. Pursue the Benghazi story doggedly, no matter where the leads take you. This will likely result in you winning the Pulitzer Prize. It may also result in helping to cause Barack Obama to lose the 2012 election.
2. Sit on the story and do nothing, ensuring that Barack Obama is not hurt by it.
What percentage of today’s journalists would answer #1 and what percentage would answer #2?

My Editor Loves Me
The lines snake through neighbourhoods and people leave hoarse and buoyant. It used to be that his crowds were most excited when he said mean things about Barack Obama. Now that’s not what is getting most of the cheers. They cheer for Romney, the guy up there on stage.
Say what you will, that’s a lovely play on words.

Monument honors U.S. ‘horse soldiers’ who invaded Afghanistan
The U.S. special operations teams that led the American invasion in Afghanistan a decade ago did something that no American military had done since the last century: ride horses into combat.
“It was like out of the Old Testament,” says Lt. Col. Max Bowers, retired Green Beret, who commanded the three horseback teams.
“You expected Cecil B. DeMille to be filming and Charlton Heston to walk out.”
Bowers spoke while sitting in the rural Kentucky studio of sculptor Douwe Blumberg, along with three of his former “horse soldiers.”
They, along with 30 fellow commandos on horseback, are the inspiration for a new monument that Blumberg is creating, dedicated to the entire U.S. special operations community.

Ad buys in Minnesota?
MN hasn’t gone for a presidential Republican in decades.
As of Friday, the Obama campaign had placed a $511,000 television ad buy on broadcast stations in Minneapolis for twelve days — Oct. 27 through Nov. 6 — according to a source tracking spending on the airwaves.
Read into this what you will, but if I were to put it in IT parlance, someone has cracked the firewall.

I enjoy playing strategic games, think Civilization or the Total War series.Nothing feels worse than spending a pile of time building up your civilization and then being attacked on multiple fronts. You know you’re going to lose a lot of ground and if you’re playing against a human, that’s usually it for the game.
Romney may have a shot in MN, but if not, he just opened up another front that will tie up Democratic resources.

“This is special”
HAMILTON, Ont. — A memorial for soldiers killed in Afghanistan is complete and will be installed in Trenton, Ont., on Friday.
Workers at HGH Granite in Hamilton took meticulous care to complete the five pieces of the memorial that will be placed just outside CFB Trenton at Bain Park and officially unveiled on Nov. 10.
About 175 family members of the fallen will come from across Canada for the unveiling.
“American Badasses”
Not knowing exactly what was taking place, the two SEALs set up a defensive perimeter. Unfortunately Ambassador Stevens was already gravely injured, and Foreign Service officer, Sean Smith, was dead. However, due to their quick action and suppressive fire, twenty administrative personnel in the embassy were able to escape to safety. Eventually, these two courageous men were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers brought against them, an enemy force numbering between 100 to 200 attackers which came in two waves. But the stunning part of the story is that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed 60 of the attacking force. Once the compound was overrun, the attackers were incensed to discover that just two men had inflicted so much death and destruction.
