A man who police say went into the wrong home in error won’t be charged with the break-and-enter at Justin Trudeau’s Rockcliffe Park home earlier this month.
Police said Tuesday the man came forward to police when he saw the surveillance video released publicly after the break-in on Aug. 16.
“A thorough investigation has determined no charges should be laid,” an Ottawa police news release said. “A satisfactory amount of evidence shows the person entered the wrong home in error.”

So, who owned the right home?
The jokes about the suspect’s family resemblance just got a little more credible.

Famed billionaire investor Warren Buffett, who President Barack Obama has lauded and named a signature proposal after, is helping finance a deal that would allow Burger King Worldwide Inc. to reincorporate in Canada and potentially reduce its U.S. tax bill through a so-called inversion, the Journal reported late Monday.

Depends on who’s suing them: Is the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) a private not-for-profit corporation, or is it an agency of the Federal Government?

Minister of Industry, James Moore, claims that “the CSA is not government-mandated” and is “not a regulatory body,” that it “has no regulatory role in Canada,” and that the CSA “does not report to the Minister of Industry either directly or indirectly” and “does not report to the Standards Council of Canada.”
Likewise, the CSA claims that its a private, not-for-profit corporation founded in 1919.
So we did some digging.

It’s interesting that the feminists chose Chicago for their “Smash the Patriarchy” message, because nowhere has the Patriarchy been more successfully smashed than in the inner cities. Households led by fathers have become exceedingly rare, single women raise families without husbands, and very few people participate in capitalist enterprises; the inner cities have become radical feminist utopia. How’s that working out for them?

Fire destroyed the terminal at Tripoli’s main airport on Sunday, one day after it was seized by militia fighters from the Libyan city of Misrata, witnesses said.
Unidentified war planes also attacked targets in the capital, residents said, the latest stage of the worst fighting in Libya since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
Tripoli residents heard jets followed by explosions at dawn but more details were not immediately available.
It was unclear who had burned the terminal and supporters of the rival factions took to social media to accused each other.

Update: Egypt and the United Arab Emirates were responsible for carrying out two series of air strikes in the past week on armed Islamist factions in Tripoli, Libya, U.S. officials said on Monday.

On Monday, by a vote of 36 to 2, Toronto City Council voted in favour of a Board of Health recommendation which would prohibit e-cigarette use in all City of Toronto workplaces. The Board also called on the provincial government to amend the Smoke-Free Ontario Act to ban e-cigarette use wherever cigarettes are banned and to prohibit the sale of e-cigarettes to minors.

I have no problem explicitly banning the sale to minors. Any retailer I’ve used does that already.
I can guarantee you that if Saskatchewan jurisdictions start along the same road I’ll probably be back on cigarettes when I work in those areas. You don’t get anywhere near the nicotine dose from electronic nicotine delivery as you do from smoking. When working on-site it’s more efficient to puff a cigarette for 5 minutes than to vape for 30.
No cigarette since February, thanks to electronic devices, at risk because people say it looks like smoking and have absolutely no facts supporting any serious health issue.

The US television industry has just suffered the first decline in early advertising-buying since the recession. At this year’s upfront market – the summer sales process in which networks typically sell about two-thirds of their commercial inventory to big brands for the coming TV season – spending fell 6 per cent to $18.1bn, according to Media Dynamics estimates. This is the first annual drop in upfront ad sales across broadcast and cable networks since 2009.
