Banning the Burqa
Integration should be the end-goal of any immigration policy.
Austria’s Foreign and Integration Minister Sebastian Kurz from the centrist People’s Party, who plans to introduce a new integration law next year, said religious symbols such as the burqa were an issue that needed to be discussed.

“Consultation” over Referendum.
As Trudeau himself has proven, nothing done, can’t be undone.
I guess this is the open and transparent government that Prime Minister Trudeau promised. I think we are all about to get a collective elbow to the chest.
Red Rose Country
Not to be outdone by the federal wastrels the Alberta NDP are seemingly buying coffee for everyone.
The NDP MLA for Red Deer-South has a serious caffeine addiction. Barb Miller spent $4,868.50 on coffee pods in one quarter alone. Three months! It was right there in her online expense filings for anyone to find.
Gotta spread the bread
Liberals being liberal with tax-payer money.
Federal Conservatives want Health Minister Jane Philpott to repay taxpayers for $1,700 in transportation fees accumulated on one day in and around her Greater Toronto Area riding.
I know, I know, it wasn’t an orange juice.
But, you know, you have to pay back those who put you there.
That amount, which covered a full day’s worth of service, was paid to Executive Sedan Livery Service Inc., a Toronto-based limousine company. Its owner, Reza Shirani, was a volunteer on Philpott’s electoral campaign last year, his LinkedIn profile says.
Update: Umm, Minister, you were supposed to meet with the Chiefs, not spend like one.
While the Tories demanded Philpott repay the $1,700, her office has revealed even higher expenses, including a $1,994 bill for a car on the day the minister spoke at a July gathering of the Assembly of First Nations in Niagara Falls, Ont.
Sin.
What this article suggests you do is sacrilege. If you’re going to spend $60 on a roast, there is only one way to do it.
- Room temperature roast
- Pre-heat oven to 500^F
- Mix room temperature butter, Herb de Provence, a coarse type salt and pepper. A little more salt than the other spices.
- Rib side down in the roaster, spread the butter/spice mixture all over.
- For every pound of roast, keep the heat on for 5 minutes. e.g., 3.5 lbs = 17.5 minutes, 5 lbs = 25 minutes, round the minutes up.
- Add 1 minute for the oven door opening.
- Turn off the oven when the calculated time is up. DO NOT open the door, look at it or anything. Just turn it off.
- In two hours, slice and serve.
Trust me.
Social License, Part II
A company that operates at least 13 wind-energy facilities across three states is suing in federal court to block the US government from releasing information to the Associated Press about how many birds are found dead at its facilities.
Meanwhile in Saskatchewan, the grisly toll continues to rise.
The wildlife death toll has now risen to 58 birds, fish, and other species.
Social License.
They’re not doing their part, or so we’ve been told.
So just how much money has flowed out of Alberta to Ottawa? A lot. Between 2000 and 2014, on a net basis, Alberta’s individual and corporate taxpayers shipped an estimated $200 billion-plus to the federal government. That’s what left the province, less what the feds reinvested here.
Forget China
If Trump wanted to kill two birds with one stone, he might want to shift the villain in his currency manipulation story to George Soros.
“About time”, is right.
Choudary, guilty. Even if it is an ‘Al Capone’ charge, it’ll do.
Groundhog Day.
Or, here we go again.
I’m sure Manafort’s supposed connections to Russia, Trump getting security briefings and Manafort being shuffled out are all completely isolated events.
The question now is, will it be back to good times?

In a court filing, Saucier’s lawyer compares the half-dozen classified photos Saucier had in his possession to the 110 classified emails the FBI determined were on Hillary Clinton’s personal server.
“Mr. Saucier possessed six (6) photographs classified as ‘confidential/restricted,’ far less than Clinton’s 110 emails,” Derrick Hogan wrote to the US District Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in a story first reported by Politico.

These sparse allegations are unique in the annals of security-clearance revocation cases,” Elliott observed in her judgment.
“Ms. Farah was simply not provided with enough information to allow her to make any kind of meaningful response.”
Her response wasn’t at issue, it was her choices before that.
Stop it, Kenney
Calgary MP Jason Kenney says a negative tweet featuring Alberta Premier Rachel Notley’s face sitting inside the crosshairs of a scope came from an attention-seeking loser.
The only thing worse than trolls on the ‘net are Internet Morality Cops. What’s worse than that? Moralizing politicians apologizing for stuff that has nothing to do with them. Don’t like drive-by’s? Do what everyone else on Twitter has done, leave. It isn’t like pols actually engage anyone on Twitter or Facebook. All that platform is to politicians is to fool the citizens into thinking their leaders are ‘accessible’. (Just like companies.)
Got a problem? Report it to the police and after that, keep your vote-seeking nose out of people’s business.

I’m sure the animal rights extremists and bleeding hearts of social media are planning to protest killing the animal.

1200 sq.ft is a little smaller than our place minus the basement. Seems like the perfect opportunity for parents who have trouble kicking the nestlings out or for kids who have been given the chance to fly. I wonder how well it holds heat in the winter?
