Gotta spread the bread

Liberals being liberal with tax-payer money.

Federal Conservatives want Health Minister Jane Philpott to repay taxpayers for $1,700 in transportation fees accumulated on one day in and around her Greater Toronto Area riding.

I know, I know, it wasn’t an orange juice.
But, you know, you have to pay back those who put you there.

That amount, which covered a full day’s worth of service, was paid to Executive Sedan Livery Service Inc., a Toronto-based limousine company. Its owner, Reza Shirani, was a volunteer on Philpott’s electoral campaign last year, his LinkedIn profile says.

Update: Umm, Minister, you were supposed to meet with the Chiefs, not spend like one.

While the Tories demanded Philpott repay the $1,700, her office has revealed even higher expenses, including a $1,994 bill for a car on the day the minister spoke at a July gathering of the Assembly of First Nations in Niagara Falls, Ont.

Sin.

What this article suggests you do is sacrilege. If you’re going to spend $60 on a roast, there is only one way to do it.

  • Room temperature roast
  • Pre-heat oven to 500^F
  • Mix room temperature butter, Herb de Provence, a coarse type salt and pepper. A little more salt than the other spices.
  • Rib side down in the roaster, spread the butter/spice mixture all over.
  • For every pound of roast, keep the heat on for 5 minutes. e.g., 3.5 lbs = 17.5 minutes, 5 lbs = 25 minutes, round the minutes up.
  • Add 1 minute for the oven door opening.
  • Turn off the oven when the calculated time is up. DO NOT open the door, look at it or anything. Just turn it off.
  • In two hours, slice and serve.

Trust me.

Social License.

They’re not doing their part, or so we’ve been told.

So just how much money has flowed out of Alberta to Ottawa? A lot. Between 2000 and 2014, on a net basis, Alberta’s individual and corporate taxpayers shipped an estimated $200 billion-plus to the federal government. That’s what left the province, less what the feds reinvested here.

Except he’s not a corrupt scumbag.

Bill’s wife should be up for five, too.

In a court filing, Saucier’s lawyer compares the half-dozen classified photos Saucier had in his possession to the 110 classified emails the FBI determined were on Hillary Clinton’s personal server.
“Mr. Saucier possessed six (6) photographs classified as ‘confidential/restricted,’ far less than Clinton’s 110 emails,” Derrick Hogan wrote to the US District Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in a story first reported by Politico.

Stop it, Kenney

Calgary MP Jason Kenney says a negative tweet featuring Alberta Premier Rachel Notley’s face sitting inside the crosshairs of a scope came from an attention-seeking loser.
The only thing worse than trolls on the ‘net are Internet Morality Cops. What’s worse than that? Moralizing politicians apologizing for stuff that has nothing to do with them. Don’t like drive-by’s? Do what everyone else on Twitter has done, leave. It isn’t like pols actually engage anyone on Twitter or Facebook. All that platform is to politicians is to fool the citizens into thinking their leaders are ‘accessible’. (Just like companies.)
Got a problem? Report it to the police and after that, keep your vote-seeking nose out of people’s business.

Paper and Pencil

What do the Liberals want? Electronic voting!
When do we want it? Never!

But now with millions heading to the polls in three months, security experts are sounding the alarm, reports CBS News correspondent Mireya Villarreal.

Like we’ve been talking to brick walls for about a decade now…
