Who’s Afraid Of The Big Bad Wall?
City officials attack NDP attack ads;
TV, billboards, radio ads but NOT on city transit.
The City of Regina has quickly pulled the latest ad campaign by the NDP that depicts the Saskatchewan Party as a wolf in sheeps clothing.
The reason for that, according to the GM of Community and Protective services with the city is they ran counter to city guidelines.
The city also prohibits advertising that presents a demeaning and derogatory portrayal of a group. Spokesperson Bonnie Bryant believes the ads were clearly meant to send that very message.
Well, how about that? 40 years of campaigning by leftist environmentalists to rebrand wolves as misunderstood good guys comes back to bite them in the butt.
(Note – sure, it’s possible that the City of Regina doesn’t want to participate in a “demeaning and derogatory portrayal” of the Sask Party – just as it’s possible that I’m Little Red Riding Hood.)

Y2Kyoto: The Fine Art Of Environmental Appeasement
In his conversation with The News editorial board last week, [Rep. John Dingell – D] made clear his objections to his own party’s misguided green agenda even as he touted his own environmental record in shepherding the 1990 Clean Air Act to passage. As head of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Dingell is determined to pass GW legislation, but “I got to write a bill, and I got to write something that will work.”
The Clean Air Act, he says, is a prize example of a bill that worked. But “worked” is a relative term. When asked if the act de-acidified northeast lakes (the headliner problem that sold the1990 bill), Dingell frankly admits that he has no idea.
“I haven’t heard much about it,” he goes on. “It’s a long term problem. But now that they have legislation, the environmentalists have moved on to other things.”

“Which gets us back to the big fact of the day: Terrorism works.”
Bryan updates an Allahpundit post at Hot Air;
At least a subsection of the press in the US is self-censoring (again) out of fear of offending Muslims, hoping to prevent another cartoon jihad or at least keep themselves out of the way when another one erupts. They wouldn’t similarly self-censor for any other group, to the point of taking a couple of cartoon strips down to the local preacher or rabbi for approval as they did with the Islamic experts, because no one thinks the preachers or rabbis are going to spark a full-blown riot over any cartoons. Many people, like Chris Hedges and Andrew Sullivan, like to ride the “Christianist” threat to generate traffic or a best-seller, but even they don’t really believe it.

Tory! Tory! Tory!
The series traces the history and ideas behind Thatcherism – and how Britain was transformed, painfully. […] it’s interesting to revisit the dark days of Britain in the late Seventies, with power cuts, unburied dead and ossified state-run monopolies somehow billions in debt.

Who’s Afraid Of The Big Bad Wall?
The same old Sask NDP
What lies behind their friendly new fear ‘n smear?*
Related: If you aren’t properly alarmed by the big bad Wall, the Regina Leader Post slaps a hood on him. Following a time-honoured election tradition, we are offered not one, but two articles by Veronica Rhodes on the past and “present” Ku Klux Klan in Saskatchewan. complete with obligatory references to “conservatives”.
Which is, of course, the purpose for which they were written.
