Why Are Democrats So Scared of Trump?

Here are endless truth bombs from a wise American man, who happens to be black. About 8 minutes in, he talks about endless “programs” that Democrat politicians are fond of. These programs don’t solve any problems, don’t generally help the people they’re purportedly intended for, but do funnel millions of dollars to the friends & family members of these politicians … and allegedly back into their campaigns – but no matter, the programs must continue! From personal conversations I’ve had with friends in San Francisco and Vancouver, I know first hand how useless and wasteful these programs are.

One In The Chest, One In The Ceiling

In this episode of The Opposition with Dan Knight;

…we walk you through the grotesque reality of Liberal “justice.” A repeat offender armed with a crossbow breaks into a family’s home in Lindsay, Ontario and the homeowner, Jeremy McDonald, ends up charged with aggravated assault for defending himself. That’s not a mistake. That’s the system. Criminals walk free. Victims get hauled into court.

Land Of Living Skies

Reader Steve Smith sent along a link to photos he took this summer while on a trip through our fair province.

Except for the burrowing owls, the birds are from Frank Lake in Alberta – an annual stop of ours. I was amazed at the giant prairie agricultural engine that was producing like crazy. We really liked the small ranching/farming towns like Consul, Ceylon, Cadillac, East End, Val Marie, Carlyle, Oxbow, Shaunavon. Rosetown etc. My only previous experience of Saskatchewan was Prince Albert – forestry project.

And they’re fabulous. What talented readers we have. Enjoy!

Dispatches from the Maple Gulag Insane Asylum

Andrew Coyne has completely lost it…

By now it should be clear that the subjection of the United States to the dictatorship of Donald Trump is no longer a theoretical possibility or even a distant probability. It is an imminent reality.

It is not here, quite – critics of the President remain at large, the courts are still attempting to enforce the rule of law, the results of the 2026 and 2028 elections have not yet been determined – but the pieces are being put in place at astonishing speed.

To call what is happening a “slide” into authoritarianism, as if it were something anarchic and uncontrolled, would not be apt. It is more like a cementing. Having slipped back into power by the narrowest of margins, Mr. Trump and his acolytes have been steadily expanding from that beachhead, each new power serving as the means to acquire still more.

Often these powers have been acquired illegally, in brazen defiance of the Constitution. But so long as no one holds them to account for it, and so long as the administration refuses to be held to account, they become ratified by convention, or practice, or sheer nerve, the de facto rapidly congealing into the de jure.

…or maybe Andrew is bitter because Conservatives fired his father…

How Are Those Elbows Holding Up?

Unexpectedly!

Canada’s economy shrank much more than expected in the second quarter as U.S. tariffs squeezed exports, but higher household and government spending softened the blow somewhat, Statistics Canada said on Friday.

The GDP for the quarter that ended June 30 slowed by 1.6 per cent on an annualized basis, while first-quarter growth was downwardly revised to two per cent, the data agency said.s.

Eric Daugherty: United States GDP for Q2? +3.3%. Higher than expected. Maybe Canada should stop trying to go to economic war with President Trump.

Russia Uncovers 511 Billion Barrels of Oil Beneath Antarctica

The 511 billion barrels reported is nearly double Saudi Arabia’s proven reserves and more than ten times the North Sea’s output over the last 50 years. This isn’t a minor find—it’s one of the largest oil reserves ever reported anywhere on Earth.

The discovery was made during recent expeditions by Russian research vessels operating in the Weddell Sea. While the stated purpose of these missions was scientific, officials and analysts in the UK and elsewhere are raising concerns that Russia is using research as a cover for resource prospecting—a move that would violate the 1959 Antarctic Treaty, which bans mineral and oil extraction.
