A grateful caliphate: ISIS posts photos thanking Obama for ‘spoils of war’
Janes:

The Islamic State can now link its Syrian administrative centre in Raqqa to Homs, and mount attacks from Palmyra in multiple directions. Homs controls access from Damascus to the coastal mountains that are home to the Syrian government’s core Alawite support base. In addition, Palmyra grants the Islamic State access to Hama Province via the Ismaili town of Salamiyah as the group already has a presence in the area. From Palmyra, the Islamic State will probably engage in multiple skirmishes, with the objective of forcing the Syrian government to disperse its forces, exacerbating its overstretch.

What difference, at this point, does it make?

Hillary Clinton was personally emailed by Sidney Blumenthal two days after the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya with specific information tying the terrorist group Ansar al-Sharia to the consulate attack. Ms. Clinton read and responded to the email. The next day Secretary Clinton spoke at Andrews Air Force Base and claimed specifically that the attack was because of “an awful internet video that we had nothing to do with.” We now know that Ms. Clinton knowingly lied thanks to secret emails that were released today.

Operation Empty Chair

Powerline: You know it’s bad when even the Associated Press notices

The “sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq” that Barack Obama and Joe Biden hailed as one of Obama’s “great achievements” in 2014 has regressed into chaos as a result of Obama’s premature withdrawal of American troops. But it isn’t just Iraq. Syria is the closest thing to Hell on Earth. Iran is working away on nuclear weapons and delivery systems. Yemen has fallen to Iran’s proxies. Saudi Arabia is looking for nuclear weapons to counter Iran’s. ISIS occupies an area the size of Great Britain. Libya, its dictator having been gratuitously overthrown by feckless Western governments that had no plan for what would follow, is a failed state and terrorist playground.
It seems as though things couldn’t possibly get worse, but they almost certainly will.

Operation Empty Chair

WaPo;

The capital of Anbar province fell to Islamic State militants Sunday as hundreds of police personnel, soldiers and tribal fighters abandoned the city, prompting the Iraqi premier to order Iranian-aligned Shiite militias to join the fight to win back control.
The fall of Ramadi represented a huge victory for the Islamic State and dealt a profound blow to Iraq’s U.S.-backed government, led by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, and its military campaign to drive the extremist group out of the war-torn country. Just 24 hours before, officials in Baghdad announced that military reinforcements had been dispatched to defend the city, in Iraq’s largest province, against a brutal assault that began Thursday.
But by Sunday, even the roads to Baghdad, 80 miles to the east, appeared vulnerable to the militant advance.

A Speech In Cairo

NYT: Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday that its new monarch, King Salman, would not be attending meetings at the White House with President Obama or a summit gathering at Camp David this week, in an apparent signal of its continued displeasure with the administration over United States relations with Iran, its rising regional adversary.

Obamanation

Unbeknownst to many, because the Media Party mostly refuses to report on it, Wisconsin has been Ground Zero for Domestic Lawfare against conservative minded people:

It was indeed a home invasion, but the people who were pouring in were Wisconsin law-enforcement officers. Armed, uniformed police swarmed into the house. Plainclothes investigators cornered her and her newly awakened family. Soon, state officials were seizing the family’s personal property, including each person’s computer and smartphone, filled with the most intimate family information. Why were the police at Anne’s home? She had no answers. The police were treating them the way they’d seen police treat drug dealers on television.

Yet no one in this family was a “perp.” Instead, like Cindy, they were American citizens guilty of nothing more than exercising their First Amendment rights to support Act 10 and other conservative causes in Wisconsin. Sitting there shocked and terrified, this citizen — who is still too intimidated to speak on the record — kept thinking, “Is this America?”

On the run;

Al-Qaida’s Yemen branch routed government forces from a large weapons depot in the country’s east on Friday, seizing dozens of tanks, Katyusha rocket launchers and small arms, security officials said, as airstrikes by a Saudi-led coalition intensified in the capital, Sanaa, and also in Yemen’s second-largest city.
The seized depot is located in Mukalla, the capital of Hadramawt — Yemen’s largest province where al-Qaida has been consolidating its control. Only the day before, the militants captured a major airport, an oil terminal and the area’s main military base.

No Bergdahl left behindThe Obama administration so far has declined to organize a rescue mission for the estimated 3,000 to 4,000 U.S. citizens in Yemen.
