Canadian military leaders saw the pandemic as a unique opportunity to test out propaganda techniques on an unsuspecting public, a newly released Canadian Forces report concludes.

The federal government never asked for the so-called information operations campaign, nor did cabinet authorize the initiative developed during the COVID-19 pandemic by the Canadian Joint Operations Command, then headed by Lt.-Gen. Mike Rouleau.

But military commanders believed they didn’t need to get approval from higher authorities to develop and proceed with their plan, retired Maj.-Gen. Daniel Gosselin, who was brought in to investigate the scheme, concluded in his report.

The plan devised by the Canadian Joint Operations Command, also known as CJOC, relied on propaganda techniques similar to those employed during the Afghanistan war. The campaign called for “shaping” and “exploiting” information. CJOC claimed the information operations scheme was needed to head off civil disobedience by Canadians during the coronavirus pandemic and to bolster government messages about the pandemic.

A separate initiative, not linked to the CJOC plan, but overseen by Canadian Forces intelligence officers, culled information from public social media accounts in Ontario. Data was also compiled on peaceful Black Lives Matter gatherings and BLM leaders. Senior military officers claimed that information was needed to ensure the success of Operation Laser, the Canadian Forces mission to help out in long-term care homes hit by COVID-19 and to aid in the distribution of vaccines in some northern communities.

The pair’s risky late night food run means they now face heavy punishments under New Zealand’s tough anti-Covid laws. Fines can reach up to NZ$4,000 and some offenders can even face prison sentences of up to six months.

The men are not the first New Zealanders whose fast-food cravings have landed them in trouble with authorities. Last week a 20-year-old man was charged after he posted a video on Tiktok showing him leaving Auckland and purchasing a large amount of food from McDonalds.

The PPC had just over five per cent of the popular vote at last count. The party has notably done better in Ontario, where it has so far garnered just under six per cent of the vote.

And its stronger showing might have hurt the Conservatives. According to an analysis by CBC News Labs, vote splitting between the Tories and the PPC may have cost the Conservatives up to 24 ridings. They include a handful in southwestern Ontario, such as Cambridge, St. Catharines and Kitchener South—Hespeler.

The party, which describes itself as populist, classically liberal and libertarian, was founded by Bernier in 2018. It campaigned on lifting many COVID-19 public health restrictions, as well as expanding the oil and gas industry, balancing the budget, ending official multiculturalism, and reducing immigration levels, among other policies.

PPC also ran second in a number of rural prairie ridings.

Free advice: When your core argument against a Prime Minister is “Nobody Wanted This Election!”, don’t be surprised when millions of voters interpret that as “There’s no pressing urgency to remove the Liberals from government. Please let them carry on.”

I have more to say in the comments, in response to LyndaL — “Just not ready” was good and entirely appropriate. At this point, it is clear that Justin will never be ready. He holds the office of PM, but fails miserably as a leader.

No, it was stupid. Red hot midday sun on Mercury stupid. The underlying message of “just not ready” was that Trudeau had the core essentials to be Prime Minister, and only lacked experience. That’s a high price to pay to work in a clever word play on the name “Just”in.

These people are morons from top to bottom. When Conservative faithfuls are arguing “we know you aren’t happy with our new progressive leader but we have to stop Trudeau” you’ve LOST THE FUCKING PLOT.

Vaccine Failure and the Way Out

As with the vaccine roll-out, the stage was set for everybody to say that they had defeated Corona, fold up shop and go home. This is, you will note, exactly what China did. They tightened official testing criteria, declared the pandemic over with and never looked back. Western countries, though, kept the ball in the air all summer long, just as they are keeping the ball in the air now.

Until now, Corona policy in every western country has unfolded more or less according to the same script, devised by the World Health Organization at the end of February 2020. The final act was supposed to be the wide-scale eradication of Corona after mass vaccination. It is now clear that this will never happen. For the first time since March 2020, there is no obvious international consensus on the way forward.

Illinois mother unvaccinated against COVID-19 stripped of rights to see son, judge rules

An Illinois judge has barred a divorced mother from seeing her 11-year-old son because she isn’t vaccinated against COVID-19.

Rebecca Firlit’s lawyer said the judge, not Firlit’s ex-husband, raised the issue during a recent child support hearing. They have been divorced for seven years and share custody of the boy, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Sunday, in what it called one of the first such rulings of its kind.

Federal government to require vaccinations for all federal public servants, air and train passengers

Transport Minister Omar Alghabra announced today that the federal government will soon require that all public servants be vaccinated — a mandate that he said will also be implemented by Crown corporations and other federally regulated businesses in the coming weeks.

While Canada’s vaccination rate is among the highest in the world — 81 per cent of all eligible Canadians have had at least one dose — Alghabra said the country “must do better.”


“We need to reach as many Canadians as we possibly can,” he said.

Beyond the mandatory vaccination requirement for federal employees, Alghabra said, a similar mandate will be extended to “certain travellers.”

Starting soon, all commercial air travellers and passengers on interprovincial trains and large marine vessels with overnight accommodations (such as cruise ships) will have to be vaccinated, Alghabra said. He said accommodations will be made for “those few who are unable to be vaccinated,” such as testing and screening.

We now know what the Liberals want to run the election on.

The fascist government of China has rejected the appeal of a Canadian convicted of drug smuggling. Whether its true or not that he was involved with drug smuggling, we do know that his original sentence was changed from 15 years to the death sentence when the Huawei executive was detained. No word from Dear Leader yet, as he is taking another day off at Harrington Lake. By the way, the media seems silent on that confidential meeting they were to have with the Liberal government yesterday about the election campaign. Another day on Turtle Island.
