Mila’s Story

Please read this – every last word:

Mila, illuminated and mysterious, was a creature beyond this time. She wanted to be a midwife and she would have been a glorious one. When COVID hit, our part of the world, Ontario, Canada, imposed some of the most draconian and aggressive measures of anywhere in the world. A couple of weeks to flatten the curve, right? Initially, like almost everywhere and everyone, we obliged.

Schools were closed. It was near the end of Mila’s grade 11 year then. There were no classes online at that time. A mad scramble ensued to get these kids some sort of education. Eventually, schools tentatively opened for some. We had the option of keeping her home or sending her in. She insisted on going. For the next few months, and into the fall of her graduating year, schools opened. Then schools closed. Then schools opened. Her friend group shrunk considerably. Most parents abided by the “no socialising” rule. There was really nowhere for them to go anyway. Theatres, live music, restaurants, and even places like bowling and the roller rink were closed. Instead, the dwindling friend group that Mila was a part of had random, clandestine meet-ups—in a friend’s frigid barn, or someone’s basement.

Update, from Kate: Jack Posobiec has tweeted that the Christian fundraising site GiveSendGo.com has agreed to start hosting donations for Freedom Convoy. I hit “Bad Gateway”  server issues when connecting there, and that’s to be expected if they’ve been inundated with requests — or DOS attacks — so be patient.

Here’s the link to get a refund if you donated through the GFM pirates. I thought from the outset that it was a terrible choice.

Francisco- You might need to be patient but it looks like there’s ways of getting your money back and sending it to the new fundraising site.

The Citizens of the World LOVE Freedom!

As of this morning, $10 Million has been raised to support the Truckers’ Protest against the Totalitarian Measures of the various governments throughout Canada.

Except for ego, what is stopping Trudeau, Singh, O’Toole, and the 10 Premiers across Canada from following in the recent footsteps of England and Denmark? Our politicians can’t claim to have been the first but they most certainly can claim to have listened to the people and acted accordingly.

The Ottawa Elites Have No Idea Who They’re Dealing With

Since the beginning of the #MapleLeafRevolution, I’ve started subscribing to a bunch of YouTube channels I’d never heard of before. What’s coming out of them is beyond amazing and extremely informative. This one caught my eye:

It’s all too easy for the urban elites to chuckle amongst themselves and dismiss the truckers as uneducated rubes. All this actually does is expose the ones blabbering as selfish, hateful ignoramuses who don’t look at their fellow Canadians as equals in any which way. Watching this video above, it’s all too easy to focus on the gruff way they talk and assume this equates to a low-IQ. Listen a bit more carefully and you’ll quickly see that these guys are very clever and exceptionally pragmatic. They’re also sincere and noble in their righteous cause.

The Ottawa politicians and their legions of overpaid minions, all handsomely compensated through the hard work of PRIVATE SECTOR Canadians like these gents, haven’t yet figured out what they’re up against. Ask yourself a simple question: In an emergency, would you rather have one of the guys in these trucks there to help you or a Soy Boy Wokerati?!?  This scene from Good Will Hunting pretty much sums up this battle of wits.

The Decline And Fall Of The American Empire

Matt Taibbi: As the country again prepares to go to war with itself, this time over a high-profile trial, a bigger story goes unnoticed

On the day the Rittenhouse trial began, the financial data firm FactSet released an eyebrow-raising report about the Covid-19 economy.

The firm noted that companies in the S&P 500 were set to post a net 12.9% profit in the third quarter of 2021. They pointed out this was the second-highest result since the firm began tracking the number in 2008.

The only better result? The previous quarter, i.e. Q2 2021, when net profits sat at 13.1% overall. These results track with the true great story of the pandemic era, which not-so-mysteriously hasn’t made the news much, while Americans have been tearing each other’s faces off over issues like race and vaccination policy: the massive widening of our already-obscene wealth gap.

Canada Starts Cracking Down on Fringe Medical Groups

“To be quite honest, we’ve never really dealt with medical professionals until the pandemic,” said Elizabeth Simons, deputy director of the Canadian Anti-Hate Network. “Typically they will keep a distance from the hate angle, but they’re still standing shoulder to shoulder with hate-promoting groups and individuals.”

If I recall correctly, Josef Mengele was the government doctor.

More from the fringe: “Officials at Northwell Health, New York’s largest provider of health care, estimate that they might have to fire thousands of people who have refused to get vaccinated.” – NYT

What Would We Do Without Experts?

Farewell to Bourgeois Kings

I suspect we are currently witnessing the catastrophic end of this metaphysical power of legitimacy that has shielded the managerial ruling class for decades. Anyone even briefly familiar with the historical record knows just how much of a Pandora’s box such a loss of legitimacy represents. The signs have obviously been multiplying over many years, but it is only now that the picture is becoming clear to everyone. When Michael Gove said ”I think the people in this country have had enough of experts” in a debate about the merits of Brexit, he probably traced the contours of something much bigger than anyone really knew at the time. Back then, the acute phase of the delegitimization of the managerial class was only just beginning. Now, with Afghanistan, it is impossible to miss.
